Larwana
03-08-2004, 20:10
Semi OOC, Semi IC Background: Larwana is a nation that values deserts and democracy. Larjan is a nation that does not exist as an account on Nationstates. For several decades, Larjan has been an anarchy ruled by warlords. Recently, a government with an interventionist foreign policy came into power in Larwana. Sand City is the capital of Larwana. The other cities mentioned are various cities in Larwana. The main cities in Larjan are Panaj and Enra.

http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=6241159#post6241159 details our military.

You can get involved whenever you want, however you want (Military force, diplomatic statements/action, etc.) on whichever side (opposing invasion, assisting in invasion). You don't know about any of this until it is introduced to the Tribal Assembly, where you will find it out because it is always broadcasted live on the A-SPAN broadcast television stations, radio station, and webstream.

First combat will come in my next post in this thread.

IC:

Prime Minister's Compound, Sand City

Ashan Pasoa, the leader of Larwana, reclined in his office chair. His desert robe hung by the door, and he was wearing his suit. The building, like most buildings in Larwana smaller than two or three stories was made of abdobe. The floor was abdobe, but covered with a large dark red carpet with a yellow border. Along the walls were photographs of each of the Tribal Representatives, paintings of famous battles in Larwanan history, and traditional Larwanan art. There was an abdobe desk in the middle of the room with a computer sitting on it. The top of the desk was covered with planks of wood, and the stands were hollow and had wooden drawers in them. He sat behind the desk.

He sat up, and opened up his secure email account. He began to type,

To: Ionen Lanea, Tribal Assembly Chair
From: Office of Prime Minister Paosa
Subject: Larjan Invasion

As you may well remember, Ionen, we have discussed the possibility of annexing Larjan. It will ideally fulfill The Declaration statement number one, and statement number three. I ask you, old friend, to now introduce to the Tribal Assembly a bill to authorize the mobilization of:

1. The entire Professional Infantry.
2. 28 Sandstorm Main Battle Tank
3. 84 Scorpion Light Tank
4. 16,500 Land Rovers
5. 11,000 Motorcycles
6. 4,000 Mountain Artillery Pieces
7. 40 Self-Propelled Artillery Pieces
8. 100 AC1 Hopper
9. 100 AC2 Condor
10. 60 AC3 Sand
11. 5 AC4 Lifter
12. 20 AC5 Multirole Fighter
13. 20 AC6 Bomber
14. 20 AC7 Jumper
15. Whatever small arms are desired by the Generals

Regards,
Paosa

He pressed send.

Main Tribal Assembly Room, Sand City

Ionen Lanea walked up the smooth hemisphere up to the podium. "Tribal Representatives, let your ears beckon to my voice! For fifty years, Larjan has been held captive by warlords are forces hostile to democracy! No desert nation should have to suffer through this! I call upon you to vote in favor of MDA-24."

On their touchscreens, the bill appeared, along with a green "Yes" button and a red "no" button. Some placed their votes immediately, others waited to hear more debate.

The debate was long and protracted, but eventually a motion to end debate was passed. All were obligated to cast their votes now. The vote was 24-21, in favor of the motion.

Various military bases, Desert Republic of Larwana

The military forces were quickly readied, and began to fly, ride, or drive to Larjan. The deployed with the lightning rapidity of a force trained for guerilla desert warfare first and foremost. They prepared to meet with resistance from the forces of the warlords.
