This is a press release from the Interlas news agency, dated August 3rd 2004.


The Central Committee of the People's Revolutionary Party of Lasatania has announced a major reinvestment program in the state news agency, Interlas. The Central Committee has decided that over $200m in extra funds will be made available to the service in order for it to carry out a major modernisation program.


From this date the new name of the agency shall be Interlas, with one capital letter, rather than the previous incarnation, InterLas.

Other changes will include the launch of a new state website by LasComm, incorporating information from Interlas, LasProd, AusLas and the Lasatanian Aeronautical Industries product catalogue. The website is expected to be launched within the next three weeks. Further details of the website will be provided nearer to the launch date.

Any nations wishing to carry programming or news reports from Interlas should contact our overseas office in the first instance.

OOC: Before I can make a statement I need to know wether I am officially a friend or enemy.

OOC: As far as I can mind, we don't actually have any friends or enemies just yet.... (OK we may have stirred things a bit, but we have not to date declared war or hostilities towards anyone yet..)

Lasitanias new ally pledges 100 Million USD to this cause on the condition that it is completely free and there can be other rival agencies.

Unfortunately, this donation will have to be declined on the grounds that Lasatania being a one party state is also a one media system and therefore rival media agencies within the state are incompatible with the philosophy of the state..

(OOC: I am trying to brainwash my people currently!! :) )


Also, the media agency is essentially just hte states mouthpiece - the whole thread was to unveil the logo - that I found on a dutch welding tools company website of all things...)
