Thracian Parliament Moves on Hamptonshire Impasse
Grandnexus City, 1400 hours: Thrace-Tailteann's House of Deputies has voted to send a second diplomatic mission to Hamptonshire. The diplomats will continue negotiations on the Thurso Thordeyen affair, which were discontinued due to terrorist attacks in the Hamptonshire capital.
Mr Thordeyen, the radical Right-wing leader of the Moderate Reform Party, caused controversy when he emigrated to Hamptonshire two months ago. The House sub-committee investigating the affair discovered that he was under police surveillance in his home in eastern Thrace. A head officer in the National Guard police force testified that enough evidence had been gathered since Mr Thordeyen's departure to charge him with offences under the Terrorism Act.
The original talks, which begun a few days after his emigration, were cancelled upon the death of Thracian diplomat Richard Boyce by gunshot. Hamptonshire police have confirmed that the assassin is a Thracian woman who arrived in their country with false papers. She is believed to still be in custody.
All parties except Thordeyen's Moderate Reform Party supported the motion. A second motion demanding the immediate extradition of Mr Thordeyen was defeated. (Motion Press International newsfeed)
The Foreign Office has requested permission from the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire to send a delegation on the matter of Mr Thurso Thordeyen.
