Sileetris

Axis Nova is a country famous for its inaccessability. It is surrounded by perlilous mountains, then inhospitable(partially from Axis Nova's use of dirty nukes) and low-life infested wastelands. The only way to reach Axis Nova is by the air. This means shipping goods is prohibitively expensive because of fuel costs, service charges, etc.
We're going to change all that.
Axis Nova has recently approved a plan to build an underground bullet-train tunnel from the coast of the continent all the way to his country. Once completed the tunnel will allow Axis Nova to import and export goods for a fraction of the cost and in greater bulk.
The tunnel will be built roughly 1 mile below the surface for security reasons. The bottom of the tunnel will be the railing for the super heavy mag-lev bullet train designed to carry large cargo(several thousand tons at a time). The roof of the tunnel will house two tracks for transporting people and regular sized goods. Air pressure will be maintained at a lower than average level to reduce friction.
Possibly the most unique aspect of this venture is the method of construction. Building a tunnel of this length would take close to a decade using conventional human labor. Sileetris will greatly speed things by not using humans: robot laborers will be employed entirely throughout the project. Working night and day the robots will work in inhospitable climates for no money, providing cheaper and safer labor. They are powered by fuel cells, the fuel for which will be refined from water using electricity provided by a bubble fusion generator at each end of the construction site. The generators will provide the power for the trains as well once work is completed.
Sileetris is flying several thousand worker robots and their supervisors to Axis Nova via dropship. A beachhead will be secured by 3,000 soldiers to land more on the wasteland side of the tunnel. The two teams working towards eachother will be able to complete the project in roughly 5 years. The wasteland side of the tunnel will likely sprout a busseling port city to service the shipping needs....
International help of any kind* would be greatly appreciated, and contributing nations would have premiere access to the goods trading goldmine at the tunnels completion....
*no slaves please.
(ooc: terrorist attacks with actual reason behind them aren't out of the question either......)
