Unusual Tech Storefront (primarily fantasy tech)

Miratha
01-08-2004, 21:10
I started this storefront under the consideration that, hey, no one sells fantasy or past tech. As such, I think it’s about time someone reintroduced it.
As of now, we have three products.
Void Blades (#0007S-M)
Weapon created with arcane magicks. This sword is made from titanium. By calling upon the unstable power of the void, a swing of this blade creates a swirling rift into the Void. This rift of space and time flies forward, picking up materials and grinding them into a fine, white dust. After a while, the rift will dissipate after consuming enough material; some of it is turned into the aforementioned dust, scattered across the rift’s path and all of its victims, however a large portion is transported to the Void. How long the rift lasts and how powerful it is does not depend on the strength of material, but rather the density and how much there is; a paper-thin yet nigh-indestructible material would be destroyed much quicker than a massive block of butter. Heavy, reinforced armours suffer the most, as the twirling rift often tears it apart trying to absorb a small part.
The sword draws power from the wielder, meaning frequent use may tire out the user until they fall unconscious.
In terms of aesthetic value, it is a longsword with traditional hilt. It has a black crescent moon on the hilt; no known method can remove it. It shimmers with violet light.
Because I don’t feel like explaining it, don’t ask about the Void.
$3,000

#0005SG-A
Generally, most shotguns are 12-gauge, pump-action and hold around 5 shells.
The #0005 is a 10-gauge automatic shotgun. It is placed on a stand to prevent recoil and uses; get this; linked ammunition. Two soldiers, one firing, one clipping, for maximum carnage. Don't waste time waiting for your shotgun to get reloaded. Do it while you're firing.
Calibre: 10-gauge
Weigth: 46 kg MG, 66 kg complete with M3 tripod (consistent with the Browning M2HB)
Length: 1810 mm
Length of barrel: 1300 mm
Feeding: 100-round belts, which may be clipped together while firing to avoid ever having to stop firing.
Rate of fire: 450-600 rounds/min
Belts will, on request, be of any variation of 10-gauge shells, including ordinary shells, metal slugs, rubber slugs or any 10-gauge ammunition you can present us with. Soon, they will be outfitted with Kzann munitions.
$5,000 ($3,000 from investor money; shotguns delivered soon!) for one shotgun
#00013SS (Titans) *NEW*
These beings, once human, are now something different. Their skin beats with their heart. They are more muscular and much larger. They no longer feel pain. They can rip through tough metal with teeth and bare hands. Their flesh is as the toughest leather. Their immune system is perfect. They rarely need to eat, drink, sleep or breathe. As long as there is something to hunt, they are completely subservient. They are not as smart as before, but much more capable otherwise.
Miratha can make a lot of these, due to the numerous citizens, asylum patients, vagabonds and criminals in Miratha.
$15,000

I concur, but hey, people sell lots o' futuristic and modern tech, even though THEY could just use AK-47's.

In conclusion, anything that kills, kills, but hey, ya need a little bit of class.

And I HAVE class.

Having a certain technological level and using it and selling it reinforces your nation and its level. The game's more interesting that way.

By the way, what the hell is a dismodulated anti-phase disintegration beam? Do they sell them somewhere?

We're interested in the workings behind the Void Blade... Could you offer a more detailed explaination of it?
This'll be a while to explain.

From about less than a year ago, I began to write. Numerous fantasy stories, all based in a world called Midgard. Midgard is composed of several ages. Miratha is located in the age of Miviera. According to the same stories, the world today is located in the world of Technoa; these two worlds are separated by a single period of almost complete stasis of the world for 1,000 years.

In this world, magic exists. A large, invisible black hole in the sky known as the Void exists with immeasurable power. However, it holds an unusual bond with living creatures that allow them, if they have the mental capacity, to control the Void, either through energy or matter; this process is called Magic. Many tricks have been developed to make things easier for people who do not possess this capacity; I will not go in depth in all of them, but instead into one, Magic Items.

With the Void, you can harness great sources of energy and matter. Generally, manipulating matter from the Void is called Summoning. Lord Beelzebub of the Void usually lets people do whatever magic they want with the void, but it has a price not easily seen; a secret Hourglass manipulates the gravitational power of the Void to absorb small, stray particles in the world, usually dust or pieces of corpses; within a few weeks, an entire corpse can dissolve into apparent nothingness, and with Beelzebub's mental power, he can sort it into its original shape.

But this process is slow. Because of this, numerous spells have been developed to send things to the void instantaneously; these "unsummoning" spells are often branded as an easy way to dispose of garbage or your enemies. One of the most unusual spells like this was branded onto a sword; as a result, a swing of this sword will open a moving rift into the Void; anything that comes in its way is grinded into a fine powder and either transported into the Void via the rift, or just simply fall to the ground if it is not caught properly. It'll absorb anything that gets in its way, but after absorbing enough materials, the spell will dissipate. Because it is based on how much material is absorbed, the only advantage stronger materials have is that they may be more dense, and if they're not, they usually perform worse. If the bonds between particles are strong enough, the rift will use large amounts of power to break the bonds, which actually causes more damage within stronger materials.

Most magic tends to easily tire the user. Magic items usually don't, but the Void Blade is a cursed weapon forged by Lord Beelzebub of the Void, who has dark plans for the Void; it's hard to understand what goes in his twisted mind, as he is, like most people with power in Miviera, insane; this applies doubly to Mayor Kabapus of Miratha, who is the most powerful creature in existence (not just for the purposes of godmodding in roleplaying, he really was in the many stories of Midgard), and he would be able to destroy the world in seconds if he wasn't ludicrously sadistic. It is believed (anything in Miviera that is "believed" is automatically true) Beelzebub is trying to create an army out of the things that are dead, and he is trying to envelop the world in chaos. The black crescent moon, or "darkmoon," on the hilt, is Beelzebub's symbol.

Keep in mind that if you're only limited to a certain area of technology (as in only using future tech, modern tech, etc.), then the Void Blade will not work for you.

3. They aren't retarded

Please go to details with patients qualifying.

However, all Sakuras -must- be sold with the following contract:
No nation may modify, replace, reverse-engineer, or exchange any systems aboard any Sakura-class skyship. Resale rights are -not- included; neither are production rights or rights to distribute schematics or plans to any nations or entities.

Estimated sale cost: US$13.710billion each
Royalty to Weyr: US$4.10billion each
Running costs: US$90million

Range: 36km
Gun: 80x 20mm six-barrel ‘gatling’
Type: 20mm

Most of the cost comes from the need for dedicated alchemist and patterner crews in assembling the two fusactors and in patterning the armor. Additional cost comes from the massive weapons that must be fitted into a relatively small space. It takes roughly 8-10 years to build a single Sakura, and no more than two can be constructed in a single period at current capacity.

I will take one under one condition. You supply me plans for a repair dock for the ship and i will pay you 25million extra

The amount you gotta pay every year for maintenance, not counting ammunition and combat damage.

Major maintenance has to be done at Wye Int'l Skyport...

OOC: Did you forget me? Ive had these plans for around 100-150 in game years and ive built quite a few.

IC: Dont go to Weyr for major repairs, go to US! We do it for less, and its of the highest quality. We use special materials from the black mark... we mean the International Trade market and from our slave min... i mean our Material Factories!

Besides, the Robot OVerlords COMMAND you too O_o.

We do have some Sakura skyships stocked, but we have absolutely no plans for a repair dock. We will sell the Sakura at $15 billion. Is this acceptable?

Also, we must impose the limit of 1 per customer. We do not have that many.

Seeing how we have had these ships for WAY more than 20 years(the time required that they not be sold by Weyr), we would be more than happy to sell you 1 Sakura Class Battleship, 7 of our very own Ragnarok 8 Battleships, and the plans to a repair dock(the same kind used by the Former Imperial AirFleet, and these are 7x better than your average civilian repair dock), for the LOW LOW price of... $20 Billion! Thats right, TWENTY BILLION.

Besides, you'll be pleasing the robot overlords.
