Only minutes ago, Mestionian Army Headquarters released a statement to the press answering the long asked question of the possibility of chemical weapons for use in Mestionian's armed services.
The announcement, drafted by Lieutenant General Max Erving stated very clearly that Mestionian's Army would begin production of chemical weapons and delivery vehicles in a matter of months. These weapons, according to the Army will be used "only when the survival of the Mestionian states depends on the use of weapons of mass destruction". Mestionian has for quite some time had a nuclear stockpile that experts estimate numbers nearly 400 warheads, but the development of chemical weapons, a practice often frowned upon by the world community is a first for the Mestionian Confederacy.
It is unclear at this time as to exactly what kind of chemicals will be used in the proposed new arsenal, but military analysts seem convinced that a sarin-esque compound will most likely be the first to be used.
