Today is a very important day for our nation. Today the Last Emperor, Emperor Farius the Third, has steped down from the throne, paving the way for a new, Democratic Nation. "I hope that my nation will prosper in this New Age," he said in his last speech to the Nation, "And that the new Government can forge new alliances with thos who were once our enemies." With that he stepped into his limo and drove to his Palace in the countryside, which he was allowed to keep for doing this important step without having to be forced out of office.

The Candidate to take his place are:

1. Former Second Admiral Stukov
Occupation: Military War Hero, Recently gained a victory that helped free the Nation of Germania Superior.
Ideals: For a better, improved Military. Militaristic

2. Dr. Ramone McMullen
Occupation: Congresswoman. Founded numerous Charities and helped in the peace talks with Washibar, Nazi Weaponized Virus, and Pakistan.
Ideals: Better relations with the World. Alliance Party( a party that wants to have better relations with everyone when possible.)

3. Mr. Robert Pinilowicz
Occupation: Senator. Helped in Raising the Economy.
Ideals: A democratic Socialist State. Socialist.

Whoever wins the Vote will be President for 2 years, and can run for a maximum of four terms.( if the poll doesnt show any winner i will choose.)

We congradulate the transition of The Lightning Star from authoritarian control to a demcratic nation. It is very good to see the people taking power. However, we would like to give our support to Mr. Robert Pinilowicz. We believe it is government's job to help the people and not be influenced by the private sectors of the economy.

However, we will support any one of these future leaders if they are to win.

I thank the Lightning Star for keeping up their end of our alliance bargain by becoming a democratic country. We applaud them and wish them luck and hope that their country can become a shining becon of democracy.

You can still have an emperor . . . like the Japanese system . . . He'd just have voting rights at congressional meetings and act as an advior to the president... Figureheads are important . . .Weyr still has its High Kings, although they stepped down long ago and now only act as mediators between the local governments...

OOC: I know. Its just some people wont want to become democratic, so they may use the Emperor As a figure to rally behind and start a civil war, even if he doesn endorse them.

I picked the first choice, so I'm obviously in the minority here. He appeals to me because he's a war hero.

OOC: Dont worry, this is a relatively close race. I woulda chosen him too, but unfortunatly that would be a step BACKwards. Towards another dictatorship.
