Arch-Duke Martin, Chief Justice: 43 Newt's youngest brother. Black hair, brown eyes. 6'1 190lbs. An avid politician, and law maker. Doctorate in Law from Newtdom Royal University.

Government:
A noble heirarchy with a monarch in control. Prior to becoming an imperial power, the monarch was simply known as the King. The same royal family is in control, its 800 year dynasty has reigned supreme over adversity. Founded by Lord Newt, Duke of Winchester in 1200. The name Newt has been passed down to the Heir Apparant for the 800 year history. The few acceptions was in 1545 when Newt VI, heir apparant was killed in battle, where his younger brother took the throne with the name Bradley. And in 1753 when Newt X, heir apparant, died due to a terminal disease. His younger brother Henry took the throne in that situation. There is a Council of Lords, where all nobles meet to discuss matters of state. Though the final dicission is made by the Emperor. Governors of provinces are appointed, but mayors of towns are elected. As are the governing town councils. Though oversight is shown by the Emperor.

Military:
The Emperor is Commander-in-Chief of the Newtdom Royal Services. He has the ability to command his forces on the field if he wishes to do so. Military service is compulsory in Newtdom. Either you serve for life, 25years, or 10years in active duty, or you can go the route of reservist, though reserves are held longer in military status. All citizens are moved to the reserve once they leave their duty in active military posistions. There is a Supreme Military Council that meets with the Emperor, currently the 10 man council consists of:

Royal Guards: These are special units that protect the Emperor and his family, as well as other nobles. They usually are not sent into conflicts. But due to their large number are able to fight in wars when called upon. At which point they stop wearing their 19th century or earlier uniforms.

Dragoons

These are the King's horsemen. In times past they were his knights, and made up the main cavalry forces on large scale battles. Today, they are the Emperor's most prized Cavalry unit. They guard the Emperor's palaces, and are dressed in 19th Century Cavalry attire. They are trained in all forms of warfare, and the enlisted ranks gain higher prestige and credience than lower-grade officers in any other unit. To become a Dragoon, one must be atleast a Luitenant in the army, and most prove themselves as an able warrior, patriot, and horseman. Ones training rebegins once entering this unit.

Grenadiers

Grenadiers were the honor guard of the Army for centuries. They marched next to the Colors, and had the best weaponry of the day. Today the Grenadiers protect the Emperor's palaces, lands, castles, and other buildings. They are outfitted still with the best weaponry, but wear 19th century uniforms. Similar to the Dragoons, the Grenadiers are recruited the same way.

Imperial Guard

Unlike the other Royal Guard units, these men are picked from the Dragoons and Grenadiers, as well as noble families or legacy families. They wear a yellow uniform, and 18th century style uniforms for the most part. They are trained in horsemanship, swordsmanship, riflery, and other forms of combat. They are the pinnicle of the household guard. Only one unit is more important than these men.

Special Imperial Guard

These troops are the most trained, best unit in the military. They are never far behind the Emperor. They are a personal bodyguard regiment. They wear black, 18th century uniforms. They are never in posistion to guard buildings. Only the Emperor and his immediate family.

Navy:
The pride of Newtdom is her navy. When the navy is officially counted, it numbers about 5,250 ships. That includes support vessels as well. It is ranked as one of the top navies, always being upgraded. There are fleets always on patrol. It has fought valliantly since its creation soon following the War of Unification in 1204. It has about a third of Newtdom's active military personell in its ranks, and for good reason. The Marines are technically under the Navy department, but are considered their own fighting unit.

Army:
The Army of Newtdom is the oldest institution in the country. Prior to the creation of the country in 1200, it was simply the Winchester Army, which was founded in the year 1000 by William, Earl Winchester. Its men are highly trained, and are capable of fighting in any terrain.

Coast Guard:
As the name implies, it is the defender of the seas surrounding Newtdom. It was created shortly following the Enlightenment War. It patrols the waters around the mainland, and the exterior islands. It also goes to sea with the fleets as an added protection to them.



Palaces: Newtdom offers an array of Royal Palaces, Castles, Mansions, and Courts. Around Winchester, the capital city of Newtdom, for example are the four main Royal Palaces. To the North of the city is where the Winter Palace is situated, to the South the Summer Palace is located, to the East is the Autumn Palace, and to the West is the Spring Palace. In the center of the city is the Imperial Quarter, which houses Winchester Castle, along with Newtdom Court, and other major buildings.

Summer Palace

The Summer Palace is located about 10 miles out of Winchester. It is a massive estate, painted in the Royal Yellow as it has been called. It is beautifully crafted, and was built in 1680 by Newt VIII was reigning. It is stunningly built, and when not being used by the Emperor it is open for conferences between foreign dignitaries.

Spring Palace

The Spring Palace is home to Arch-Duke Martin. Though the entire family uses the facilities during the spring months. It is located directly outside of Winchester on a fine peice of land. It is generally considered the oldest of the four palaces as it was built in 1545 under Newt V. It is spectacularly built, though there are many complaints of its color. It is still used today to hold foreign conferences.

Autumn Palace

This palace is generally considered the newest built. Constructed in 1845 under Newt XV, it is designed in a neo-classical format. It is beloved by the people. And is about 20 miles out of Winchester. It currently is the residence of Arch-Duke Alfred. It also has on its grounds the Imperial Marching Grounds, where certain units upon gaining prestige march before the royal family.

Winter Palace

The Winter Palace was built in 1755 by Newt IX. It was stunningly crafted for its time, and holds the Council of Lords. It is the primere residence of Prince William. It is used by the family, mostly during the winter months. But due to its location and beautiful grounds, has been known to host many events. It also is on the ocean. And contains with in it, the Newtdom Royal Dockyard. Where the Emperor's private yacht collection is housed. Along with certain ships of war, such as the NRS Chamberlain, a massive Juken Heavy Battleship.

Winchester Palace

The original was rebuilt first ine 1545 and then again in 1790. This is the newest version of this palace. The ancestrial home of the Winchester dynasty. It is a stunning building, where the Emperor and his family holds most of their court and daily life. It is rarely open, and only is for heads of state, and other major dignitaries.

Royal Court

This is the Royal Court. Which was built by Sir Louis Stroller, in 1756. The previous court had falled into disrepair, and rather than renovating the building. Sir Stroller donated the money to build this lavish structure. Today it is used as a Courthouse, as well as the another meeting place of the Council of Lords.

Religion
Religion is allowed to be worshiped as freely as possible. All religions are allowed to worship however they wish as long as they are not plotting against the Emperor or the Empire. Religious break up is as follows:

Land:
The mainland is vast, encompassing 1,000,000 sq miles. To the east of the nation, are several islands which have been made part of Newtdom. Several are large and have key population centers. Large cities are spralled out along the entire nation. The country has all sorts of different regions. It has a desert, a tundra, a very large mountain range to the west, and it also holds many many miles of fertile land of agriculture. It also has beautiful landscapes and scenery.

OCC: Yeah, its quite large for several reasons. One we accepted a good portion of refugees from fleeing nations over the past year. Two, we had a high number to begin with. And three we are extremely tolerant of religion.

To the Roman Republic:
The Empire accepts your proposal with much humility. We thank you for the compliment as well. The reason we do not have a large amount of Hindus is unknown. Whether they choose to not immigrate, or whether they leave themselves. They have no reason to leave due to religious pressures, so we are not sure. Some in the Ministry of Interal Affairs believe it has to do with our global posistion. Being we are some what far away from their ancestrial home land, may have something to do with it.

Of the year long active term. One third is spent on base, training and the sort. One third usually in combat, or on base. And The other third spent on industrial, and economical projects. You probably ask how is this done. Due to the number its always on rotation, meaning we always have a large portion adding onto our military/economic might. Not to mention, military service being compulsory allows such high numbers. And with the economy being its highest, no need to worry about shortages of capital.

You still have almost twice as much as the largest RL nation, Eritrea, and 3x as much as israel, a nation constantly under threat. Even 2/3rds of your military would be more than any other RL nation, forces per capita...

Point being, its not a real life nation. And I'm fairly sure there were other nations on here that had/have field forces larger than mine. Not to mention, the Soviets fielded a force approx the same size as mine. At the current, I construct my own military supplies, as well as export them. I have a mindset on military matters, and I own the construction rights to 3/4th of my surplus. That standing force number includes in it:

Enlisted, Officers, Logistics, Tacticians, Civilian Contractors, Military Academies (which in my nation begin at elementary level so there is a good portion of the number, children who do not fight). Military scientists, designers, and planners are all housed in those numbers. And your talking about a nation that keeps its entire adult populace as reserve members, excluding certain cases.
