OoC: First try to get this underway.....lets see where this end and don't be to hard on me please. I'll make another thread later to show its effects in our little rebel supression.
IC: Yesterday Dumpsterdanian researchers have completed the new Balaam virus after twenty years of intesive research, the virus is a mix of several simple virus cells thats very hard to cure within its short incubation time.
Name: Balaam virus.
Incubation time: 5 minutes.
Effects duration: 30 to 60 minutes depending on weight, age, sex and stamina of the infected person although all subjects have gotten the symptoms.
Effect: All subjects suffered slight raise in temperature, diaries, itching over the entire body and a uncontrollable desire to burp or throw up. If the subject moves around allot his hand eye coordination drops significantly.
The virus is air based so gasmasks will stop the majority of the effects on the body, on contact with skin it causes the itching sensation that’s usually enough to distract anyone from holding a gun and let alone fight back.
Background story on the creation of this virus: The southern most provinces of Dumpsterdam is Maras, the province wanted to get its independence over twenty-two years ago but they where unable to provide enough evidence to Lord Rift that they deserved or needed this independence from the monarchy of Dumpsterdam. Therefore it was denied by Lord Rift and after two years a mass murder was commited by a group callings itself the "Lion's of Maras" in a village loyal to the monarchy. Troops had been sent to secure the village and the rest of the province but twenty years later the rebels still survived in the lush forests of Maras. Now that the rebels have taken several villages near the southern coast and are using those as bases to attack other villages in the area DAF HQ has called for action on the rebels. A non lethal weapon that could take out the entire population of a village to allow DAF forces to move inside and secure it was being researched after the first mass murders and could now be put to the test.
NOTE: the rebels keep the civilians in the villages and wear no uniforms, so its impossible to see friend from foe and its impossible to use artillery or air support which the DAF is famous for.
Note: This virus is not deadly in any form. Not any more deadly then water or air.
