This is for all newbies who don't know how to play. Feel free to post advice or to ask a question yourself!

The best way I figured out to avoid n00bishness when I first started, is to start a civil war in your country. RP it well to gain a little NS street cred.

I have a question: Is it all right, etiquette wise, to double post? I don't think I've seen much of it, but I thought I'd ask.

You can double-post if you need to bump a thread for a good reason, and the last person to post in it was you.
I stand corrected: Topic bumps are now frowned upon, but are not illegal. Reference: http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=342130
Otherwise, avoid double-posting. I doubt that anyone's going to jump down your throat for it, but it'd be a good idea to edit your last post if you need to add something and noone else has posted in the topic after you.

Best advice I got as a newb, read the stickies! I learned alot from just doing that. Next, find a few RP's that sound interesting and read them, don't participate, just follow them and see what the experienced players do and don't do to get some ideas. My first RP was to send a submarine to join a naval blockade around a country and I used character driven conversations (and a lot of them) to describe exactly what my sub was doing and to communicate with the other ships/nations in the blockade. I didn't really try to interfere with battle plans, but I RP'd monitoring the situation and offering assistance to anyone who needed/wanted it.
