Species 1 attacks!

Species 1

OOC: I will be posting an IC message here but I first need a nation that is willing to let me invade. Its future tech and you can find more about Species 1 in Species 1;a study (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=330304).

If you are interested TG me and tell me what you had in mind.

"So why do you disturb me now, Rakarth?" Archite Eklavdrah responded, coursing her tongue onto her lips, making a agitated noise discern itself from the humming of the generator.

"Mi'lady" Urien Rakarth bowed, hiding the sneer upon his face. "Our long-range Corsair ships have picked up an unidentifiable signal, coming from somewhere near the Segmentum Popopalis. Should we investigate?"

"You came here just to tell me that!?" The Archite screamed. "I'll have you flayed! Do as you wish!" the Arcite collapsed into the chair, muttering some curse under her breath.

"As you wish mi'lady" He said whilst walking to the double-door.....

OOC: Oh, so we get to fight a war together now. What fun.

IC: Tarenteor growls he is informed not by a person, but instead his viewing moniters. He taps a few buttons and within a few moments, his Captains have manned their posts are various computers, screens, and tables around the room. "We have multiple contacts. They seem to all be drone ships, commanded from a single source, since we only have engine and weapon heat signatures. This is an unknown enemy, so I want to be prepared. Call up reinforcements from the gates. Start launching all the mines. Emp, Nuclear, biological, conventional, everything. We don't know WHAT will take these down.

OOC: I will think about it, but have you even looked up what kind of vessels I use?

IC:
There was much traffic all along the boarder with organic space. So far Species 1 had it easy and had only encountered uninhabited systems but now they were encroaching on claimed systems and this meant they needed to change tactics. In every system, hundreds of thousands of vessels were readied.

All in all, 20 million warvessels and 45 million scoutvessels were preparing to invade. The invasion would be coordinated by 15 Restructors that would serve also serve as an intimidation factor once they crossed the border.

OOC: Well, I'm already in space, and I already noticed you, but whatever. The part of my territories you are near are all within a large, dense Nebula. Thus, visibility is low, and ambushes are common. I have around 30 heavy battleships with Tarenteor right now, and in my next post, I'll have three wormholes sending in reinforcements. I have more wormholes, I just don't deem you enough of a threat. These wormholes are from gates.
IC: A roar fills the air, as three holes rip through space, and dense gas from the nebula slowly filters out of them. From one hole, a stream of fighters And bombers begin pouring out, from the next, battlecruisers, from the last, only come five ships, but their size makes up for it. Jerak-Class battleships, they're the largest ship to ever come out of JJR, and thus, one of the largest ships ever to come out of ANYWHERE! Don't expec these to go down easy, they have a lot of armor, and even more guns, missiles, mines, and grenades. Following these ships come a wave of tiny, round mines. They may not look strong, but they're almost impossible to see, and if you hit them, the core explodes, the outer shell implodes, and it creates a small, short-lived wormhole. The mines spread out, far in the front, milling around like hornets.

OOC: That starts me. The wormholes are closed now, but they can reopen at the same coordinates, along with two others.

"Commandante, we are picking up a signal on long-range scanner"

"What is it?"

"Checking the archives, most likely Jangle Jangle Ridge"

The three Corsair Class scout ships hurtled through space. At long last, the thrusters disengaged and the ships came to a blinding halt. The visual was poor, but they could make out a vast armarda. Ships came out of wormholes and the armarda grew more vast.

"Are they the unidentifiable ships?

"Nope, different"

"Hail them"

Hail, Jangle Jangle Ridge ships. What is your business here?
Taren rolls his eyes to himself. "It's not your territory. We're only a few parsecs from the nebula. It's no-man's land. *chuckles* Or, maybe, no-woman's. Anyway, we detected unknown signatures, looks like drone ships or something from the thermal readings. So, I called a few friends and thought I should have a nice little party with them. Hope you brought some good music. I haven't been using this ship long enough to get any good music. I'll just command the computer to synthesize something. It does a pretty good job. So, we're just sitting here, waiting for them to get closer.

OOC: You should note that Tarenteor is the national leader. So your men might be suprised. Or not.

IC: In between Jangle Jangle Ridge's ships and Commoragh's a huge Subspace Portal opened. The blue ocean like phenomenon rippled and glowed for a second, before a colossal...bird 25KM long and 18KM wide (counting wings fully stretched) soared out, it's wings flapping. But, this wasn't your average bird. This was Metal Gear ROBIN, Liquidus Snake's personal choice of vessel, the pride and capital ship of Outer Heaven's 1st Fleet. The ship was imposing and infamous enough.

But, the ship was also armed to the beak (literally, inside the beak is a heavy beam weapon, capable of destroying a planet is sustained for a long period) with weaponry and counter-measures, this battleship was powerful enough to take on two fleets and still come through tweeting (I like to be funny about my ROBIN). The ship was also a carrier ship. Containing twenty new Cobra Gunships (ships upgraded with Shivan technology, so they can go as fast as a starfighter), ten Legions of troopers (a million), and fif squadrons of Anaconda attack fighters, this ship could also invade a planet or start it's own mini war.

However, today wasn't a day where such things shouldn't be used (at least Liquidus Snake thought), instead, the ROBIN was here to take Liquidus to the Jangle Jangle Ridge homeworld, so Liquidus could negotiate an alliance with the Jangle Jangle Ridge government. And so, as ROBIN stopped after exiting Subspace, he raised one of his eyebrows.

"Ensign, hail the Jangle Jangle Ridge armada, and ask them what the hell is going on!" Liquidus yelled. The Ensign nodded, and sent the message...

Taren answered the hail, smiling at the screen, spinning in his chair, "So, I see you're in your little hummingbird. Well, we've picked up massive signatures just out of sight. The console next to Liquidus bleeped a few seconds after recieving the readings.

"Wow that was..." Liquidus stopped. The readings exactly matched ships from the only Red-Marked Nation in Outer Heaven History...Species 1.

"Holy mother of..." Liquidus said. The readings were HUGE, indicating a large battle fleet. And that was BAD. VERY VERY BAD!

Liquidus looked at Taren, his eyes wide.

"Taren! Put your ships on red alert, or whatever highest alert you use! We've matched the readings to Species 1, a very powerful, merciless nation of machines! And if these readings are correct, it's a huge fleet! Taren, this ship is just as powerful as your fleet, so I suggest I lead the way, seeing as I know much about this nation. It might sound ridiculous Taren, but trust me, if you don't, we might not survive..." he said.

Immediately after that, Liquidus pressed a red button on the side of his console, and red lights starting flashing everywhere. Liquidus then keyed into the intercom.

"All hands, Red Alert! A Species 1 Fleet is heading this way! I repeat, Red Alert!" he shouted.

All along the ship, personnel ran around the ship, getting to their stations...

Taren scoffs. "Your ship better than mine? Sure. I'll lead the way. Actually, my mines will." Taren spins around, "FLEET ON SOMETHING SO BIG IT'S STUPID YET SORT OF FUNNY ALERT!" He's an odd one... The mines begin to sweep forward, and the fleet begins to slowly follow it. The wormholes reopen, along with the other two, and they start releasing waves of various mines and fighters, along with a few ships.

"Grr..." Liquidus growled as he watched. He looked at the communications Ensign.

"Ensign, remind me to break all contact with Jangle Jangle Ridge when this is over..." he said. The Ensign nodded, and with that, Liquidus keyed into the intercom.

"All pilots to their stations, that includes the Gunships! Be prepared to launch in five minutes! All troops, gear up in Space Suits and be prepared! Gunners, don't wait for my command, pick any Species 1 ship and open fire!" he shouted.

All around the ship, the crew complied...

Ten minutes later...

"All Squadrons report in." Liquidus ordered over the intercom. After a few seconds, the intercom crackled.

"Alpha Leader standing by."

"Beta Leader standing by."

"Gamma Leader standing by."

"Delta Leader standing by."

"Omega Leader standing by."

"Bravo Leader standing by."

"Echo Leader standing by."

"Charlie Leader standing by."

"Venom Leader standing by."

"Viper Leader standing by."

"Anaconda Leader standing by."

"Punisher Leader standing by."

"Champion Leader standing by."

"Fang Leader standing by."

"Reaper Leader standing by."

Liquidus grinned, and responded.

"All squadrons, formation Gamma 6-x. Lock your S-Foils in attack posistion and set up a defensive perimeter. Set your weapons to stutter and burst fire modes, to better penetrate the enemy shields. Attack any targets at will, and may the for...I mean, good luck to you all." Liquidus said. A few cheers and appraisals came through. After a few moments, the intercom crackled again.

"My Lord, this is Captain Kratas of the Cobra Gunship Hellion. All the Gunships are away and awaiting orders."

Liquidus keyed in.

"Excellent Captain. Order all the gunships to activate their after burners, and enter standard patrol pattern 6. Species 1 hasn't encountered our Gunships before, so when you pick a ship up, intercept it, and give them one hell of a surprise." he ordered. After a few seconds, the intercom crackled.

"Orders recieved sir. Kratas out."

Liquidus sat back, and watched as his tactics unfolded before him. It was an impressive display. Every fighter pilot and crewmember had been harshly trained, and they knew that formation and accurate interpretation was key. And so, as the gunships shot away at impossible speeds for their size, and as fighters flew around the ships in impressive shapes, Liqudus smiled. Today would be a great day...

The nation of Jangle Jangle Ridge had been classified as a low resistance target. Because of that the fleet that was sent was relatively small.

Once the fleet arrived near the nebula and detected the fleet the warvessels and the Restructor dropped out of warp. The scoutvessels were travelling through B-space and would wait while the 5.000 warvessels took out their defences.

From the Restructor came this message directed towards all ships in the area. It was an audio only transmission and the voice was emotionless and clearly artificial:
*We are Species 1. Abandon your ships and evecuate your planets. We will add your technology and resources to our own. Resistance is futile. Your claims irrelevant.*

Shields went up and the warvessels released their drone fighters. 200.000 drones were now forming a black cloud with a green glow between the two fleets.
Outer Heaven MK II
29-07-2004, 16:07
Liquidus watched, and then keyed into the intercom.

"All troopers...deploy!" Liquidus shouted.

From the underside of the ship, one Million Zero-G troopers emerged in a big white cloud. With quantum reactor powered jetpacks and heavy Plasma rifles, these troops would be a nightmare for the Drones, and for the ships should it come to that. The white cloud went over the ROBIN, and then stopped in front of the drones. They then got their rifles out, loaded them, and took aim. But per orders, they didn't fire. Species 1 would have to make the move...

Tarenteor spins in his chair, cackling, "We'll be salvaging you, buddy. All weapons to front, charge railguns. Sneak the mines forward while we make a show of charging around weapons, I'll tell you when to launch..." As the mines drifted closer, too small for radar, black on a black sky, with no thermal signature, they would be hard to detect. "Now, fire railguns, then immediatly launch a tesla missile for remote detonation." The thuds were felt throughout the ship as 36 Heavy railguns all shot off at the same time, a large missile among them. "Detonate now." The missile's sides split off, and a bright flash of light filled the view screen. Once the light dissapated, you could see the electricity jumping from round to round, then bouncing back, away from the magnetism still on the heavy depleted uranium rounds. As the rounds flew towards the ships, the mines slowly moved closer and closer, preparing to strike as soon as the shields went down.

Ah, old friend. How nice it is to see you!
Species 1
29-07-2004, 16:54
The rounds from the ship of Ridge looked impressive. Species 1 quickly analyzed the rounds and determined that they were magnetized. This made them easily countered as some of the shield generators were reconfigured to produce a strong magnetic field of opposite charge around the ships. The rounds never even touched the shields but were simply repulsed by the magnetic field.

The mines were well camouflaged but they still had mass and this made them visible to Species 1. Because they all had the same mass distribution and the same amount of mass they were determined to be artificial in nature and a 1000 drones were dispatched to perform a detailed scan of the objects.

The marines required a solution too. They lacked the firepower or protection to be a real threat but they could become a nuisance. Each vessel fired 3 compressed antimatter missiles into the swarm of organics making 15.000 missiles. 10.000 were programmed to detonate once they got close to 50 km near the marines. Their explosive yield was rated at 200 megatons each.
The last 5.000 would target the Outer Mark ship.

OOC: Wait, they are depleted Uranium rounds. QUITE heavy. It would take a huge block of supermagnets to slow them down even gradually. Also, in order for the generator to change polarity, it would have to stop moving and then start moving again in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION, giving me the time to slip my mines in. Also, due the stop, the shield would be weak for a period of time while the generator gathered more momentum. Don't give me that.

The Dark Eldar ships opened fire upon the Species 1 Fleet. Lance afer Lance was shot at the fleet.

All ships then broke up into battle groups. Diving, they zoomed around firing shots at the nearest chance, but always running.....

OOC: The rounds may be quite heavy but the magnetic field is strong. My shields are not magnetic based, I simply reconfigured some of the shield generators to create a strong magnetic field. One of the strong points of Species 1 is that they can change their shield and weapons very quickly.
Relax, if you hadn't magnetised your rounds I wouldn't have used this tactic but that addition made it possible for me to use this tactic.

Just adapt.

OOC: My marines are well protected and the rifles are badass!

IC: With the missiles launched, Liquidus' plan went into motion. The troopers immediately blasted away, spread themselves out, and entered the ROBIN's shields. Once that was complete, they started firing at the missiles, ripping through their armour...

The Fighters immediately swarmed up in formation and launched their own missiles to counter the ones coming for the ROBIN...

Shooting out of the Nebula, undetected and nearly too fast to see, the new Cobra Gunships shot towards the Species 1 Armada. All the weaponry on the ships locked onto the nearest vessels, and they opened fire as they went through the Armada, with their beam cannons, stinger missiles, and flak bombs causing crippling shots on the unsuspecting ships. The Gunships shot out of the Armada, and retreated, preparing for another assault...

OOC: Guys, wait until he pays attention to the argument I made. In order to reverse the polarity of the generator he would have to stop it and start it spinning the other way. Which would be a break in shielding and a chance for me to slip in the mines, along with weak shields as it gathered momentum again.

OOC: Perhaps, but Species 1's strong point as I said, was adaptation. While I thought that was a bit of a god mod, it is possible, the best thing to do is try different combinations of attacks, like my surprise attack with my new Gunships, ships they haven't encountered before. Try throwing all you've got at them, but make sure they hit at random intervals or soemthing, use tactics. I dunno! Just think of something.

Look, they're SLIGHTLY magnetized. Very slightly. Just a small amount, keeping electricity at bay. And amount of magnetism would overwhelm it and instead suck the rounds towards it at a higher speed. And WHY ARE YOUR GENERATORS MAKING MAGNETIC FIELDS IF THE SHIELDS ARE MAGNETIC IN NATURE? All electric devices give off a little electromagneticism, yes. But unless it is a large magnetic-based device, it's only that, little.

OOC: Could you tell me what kind of lance? What kind of a weapon is it?

IC:

2.000 of the cubical warvessels broke of and counter attacked the Dark Eldar ships. Their shields flared up as the weapons impacted. They retaliated by firing plasma bolts and concentrated energy beams at the ships.

5.000 drones assisted them weaving and dodging adding their weaponsfire to the fight. They were travelling at 0.8c while the warvessels moved slowly at 0.1c depending on their shields while they fired. As the Dark Eldar fought their every move was analyzed and the warvessels shields changed constantly trying to find a configuration that would protect the ships better.

OOC: Fine, Screw it.
IC: The swarm of ships screech through the air, as a 5 huge balls of blue energy streaked towards the battle. Ion, destroyer of all things electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic, plasma-based, etc. Following them, Pulse laser bursts rip across the sky. As the drones approach the mines, three of them fly up to "greet" them. They implode in unison, three small black holes destroying almost all within their grasp, and freezing that within it's event horizon. The other grenades fly off in search of more prey.

OOC: Look, you are assuming that my generators rotate which is wrong. My generators don't need to do that, they just need a small change to start generating a magnetic field. And the strength of your own field is irrelevant however I should have used a field with the same charge since opposites attract. So your rounds did impact.

As long as I don't know what your weapons are, I will assume they are as powerful as my own. That means that you will need a bit longer before getting through the shields. Species 1 has encountered some very advanced nations and has their tech.

IC: The gunships attacked and were out before Species 1 could react but the shields held for now. Unfortunatly some of the drones were hit too and their shielding was not strong enough. 400 were lost in this attack.

Now the Restructor acted. It launched 10.000 of its drones which quickly moved to attack the gunships.

OOC: You see? Species 1 adapts, but when new tactics, and new things attack them, it's very hard for them...

IC: Kratas watched as the drones swarmed towards them.

"Obviously, they haven't adapted to the firepower of this ship. Hmm...Gun Controller Drusk, fire as many Flak as possible at the drones!" he ordered.

As the drones drew nearer, all twenty Gunships unleashed a huge volley of Flak . As some got near, they blew up, throwing radioactive chunks of superheated and sharp metal towards the drones, while the other went right into the drones before they exploded, engulfing many in a huge fireball before the metal went flying out, shreading many drones apart...

The nose Tarenteor's ship began to fold upwards, revealing what looked look a huge, horizontal missile silo, with plane catapult on the bottom of it. At the end, an over-sized figure stood, blocky and harsh. Without a sound (No aiiiiiiiiir), the figure was in space. A Heavy Mech, with a huge armament, including a diamond vibroblade. The most striking feature the amount of arms it had, 6. The Jarnak-class ships began unloading more mechs, with all different weapons, Light, Medium, and Heavy class. The mech launched from Taren's ship coasted upwards, with jumpjets, as a sheath of metal slid off of one of the arms and a humming filled the air as electricity snapped and arched from the tip. The mech did an akward sort of bow as Taren's voice rang out clear, "I like to call 'im Shiva."

Liquidus watched the Mech deployment.

"Looks like Zero-G fighting for all then..." Liquidus muttered. He then hit a key on the console next to him, and the weaponry on the ROBIN 'unlocked'.

Following their orders, the gunners picked the nearest Species 1 drones/missiles, and fired at them with thousands of missiles and Flak Cannons while the thousands of turbolasers and two hundred Beam cannons locked onto the Species 1 Armada, and opened fire, changing the intensity and frequency of the beams/lasers every time...

Outer Heaven MK II
29-07-2004, 17:45
OOC: Perhaps, lets just kick his ass while he's gone :)

IC: THe ROBIN continued to fire, the Beams and turbolasers hitting at the same time, wasting away the shields, and ripping slowly through the hull...
Outer Heaven MK II
29-07-2004, 17:48
OOC: Same here, I can generate EMP waves, it's kinda easy to. And teleportation, we do that, but Species 1 just has a knack for doing it randomly. But bear in mind that Species 1 can advance quicker than us, because they assimilate and expand. So be mindful of that, and make sure none of your weapons or vehicles get captured, or they'll disect them, and work out how to fend against them...

The mines take their chance and slip in through the breaks, finally reaching the ships inside and imploding. Now, if black holes suck in stars, thick of what happens to these. After 10 seconds, the mechs swarm in. Taren in his Shiva uses the vibroblade in great swings, shearing through the hull and metal as if it were nothing. The tesla cannon on his other arm electrocutes anothing close enough to him. Another arm, like a set of pincers, snatches and crushes drones, as yet another mows drones down with sprays of depleted uranium bullets. Another arm is a plasma cutter, helping to cut into the ships. The final are is a Pulse cannon, a beam weapons that constantly changes frequency and size with each micropulse, interlaced with ion to disrupt energies.

Then there is impatience you are clearly showing not to mention the fact that you managed to grow this thread to 9! pages in just a few hours. I have always been careful to avoid godmodding because I believe it takes the fun out of the game and you accuse me of it simply because my ships don't roll over and die after the first shot?
