Libya:Under a false seige

The world had become a more dangerous place. Wars reigned in every direction. This was a very bad thing for some, and a very good one for others. For chellis, it was a very good one.

----

Parliment didnt like the idea of this new type of warfare. They called it a false war in many respects, as it was very contrary to regular chellian acts, but it was how it would go.

One division, a mechanized one, moved across the border into Ghadamis, shooting anything with a gun but nothing other than that. Paratrooper divisions landed in Zuwarah, Al Khurns, Surt, Ra's Lanuf, Al Burayqah, Banghazi, Darnah, and Tobruk, near simultaneously. Naval infantry unloaded in Tripoli after three warships of Libyan descent were destroyed, and about 35,000 troops poured into the city.

About 12 Chellian armoured and mechanized divisions began going through libya, to search any medium to large sized cities they could find out about, and clear opposition, then leave.

The main objective was to destroy any group of soldiers who could be well entrenched in the future, to stop further actions. The infantry in the major cities were to take control of all large economic and political positions, and that was about it, other than defend themselves.

There would be no massive bombings, like the libyans expected when troops first poured into their cities. Nor artillery barrages, or attacks on houses expected to hold arms caches. The chellians really didnt care, and would leave that for the future. They were to start with a policy of not killing people whenever possible.

Most Libyans had to ask the soldiers if they were really chellian.

"Open up!" Yelled a chellian soldier in Tripoli, as the embassy of a nation had locked down and was defending itself from the chellian invasion. The flags had been taken down, and the people spoke english, so they couldnt tell the nationality(So if anyone wants to roleplay it...).

"We will open fire if you do not open up!" Yelled another soldier, in english. There was no answer, and a chellian soldier broke a window and tossed in a smoke grenade. Two chellians had gotten a large piece of metal, and the soldiers rammed the door in, as two scared guards stood there, pistols raised at the heads of the four or so chellians.

-----------------

"Ok, that town was empty... We're on route to the next guys, we think there is a small armoured detatchment there, so we arent worried, but be careful." Said the commander of a Nilsar W-20K MBT, A command variant of the Nilsar MBT. An H-1 helicopter had flown reconnaisance down the road before, and reported no enemy positions, so the troops werent to worried. Some even listened to rock music.

...e don't got no water, let the mother fucker burn....Burn mother fucker, burn..... Hello my name is jimmy pop and I'm a dumb white guy, Im not old or new but middl...

...

"Enemy fire to the east!" Yelled the commander of a second Nilsar, as an ATGM slammed into the side of one of the 17 Chellian tanks in this group. The Nilsar's ERA protected from what was later found to be an AT-14 Kornet.

"Return fire Return fire!" Yelled the commander, as the 120mm gun of the Nilsar swung to the right. The commander heard an obscenity from his gunner, but he didnt see anything. He took out his binoculars, and simply looked outward for a second.

Over 100 T-80UM2's.

"How the hell?" Said the commander of the nilsar, as a Kornet from another one of the Black Eagles stroke the tank. The ERA didnt react that time. The Nilsar blew.

"Holy shit! Bunk in! Swivel right!" Yelled the Command Nilsar, as the commanders went inside the turrets, and the tanks turned toward the incoming black eagles, so they could engage with their front armour. "Range on average is 6k meters, those ones that hit us were closer. Find targets and fire, then prepare your mainguns. Seal your tanks. Dont let them get close enough to hit us with their main guns!"

As he commanded, the tanks began firing their Polynege ATGM's. 15 Nilsar tanks were still operational, and everyone had a Polynege pre-loaded. With a range less than 7k meters but almost that far, the Polynege were able to mostly hit the black eagles. Two Missed, one hit but didnt penetrate the turret mantle, and twelve Black eagles were dead. An official count was made by then, 102 Black eagles were left.

The sun was going down but the battle would be over before that. It was very flat in the desert area they were in, and you couldnt see visually over 1k meters without assitance. There they stood, 15 Nilsar tanks versus over 100 Black eagles. They had no clue how the Libyans had gotten so many, or hidden them from reconnaisance. Air support was non-existant with this new style of attack. There they stood, as their death awaited them from an inferior people, with inferior tanks. They both had similar range and firepower, both had strong armour and ERA, both had quality sights and ammunition. The Nilsars stood their ground, and awaited their deaths.

*Press conference in New Pyongyang, Chellis*

"..nd thank you for your question. Next?" Said the secretary of war, as a reporter shot up their hand. The Secretary pointed towards the woman.

"Katherine Minsk, of the Chellian Free Press. What can you tell us about the situation in Libya?"Said the reporter.

"Err...I was unaware that the news about that was out... Quite basically people, Im sure you have all heard of the bombing of the Vatican..." The secretary paused, as a couple people cheered, and alot of people smiled. "While the official position of chellis morally supports this act, we feel we have an obligation to find out who in fact did the bombing. The information we have is that it was some 400 Rafale Strike fighters. They were seen coming up on the west of Italy, bombing the vatican, and then moving south, towards libya. No one detected them since then, but the CIA believes that it was Libyans who did it.

The CCCB believes this as well. A radical muslim group, whom hasn't been named as far as we know, was able to get funding from various nations around the globe, mostly atheist and muslim nations. It is not known where they bought the Rafales, but it is actually possible that it was from chellis, as chellis recently sold 450 Rafales to a nation that will not be named, for reasons of anonymity.

We hadnt told the international community because we were afraid that these radicals would have evacuated the country. We had constant recon flights over libya recently, and found a large undercover air port in the south-east mountains of libya. We very recently confronted the Libyans, as secretly as possible. They completely denied it, and we believe it was because they were funding it. We had defident proof that the planes were in libya, whether or not the libyans had actually done it.

Later that day, we found, from recon, that three libyan paramilitary divisions had gone to the southeast, and began transporting the planes into caves, and dismantling the airport. They were caught redhanded, and we had to react immediatly, or the Libyans would get away with it.

So far, most major Libyan cities are taken, and resistance is being knocked through. A chellian armoured division in chad went to the site, and another one joined it shortly. We have the planes and airport, though it is being very well guarded, with full air coverage, SAM coverage, and strictly maintained borders. Most of the planes are in the caves already, and we wont be moving them until we can do it safely.

Our operation has been a success, however, finding out that the libyans have been doing things like this shows how badly Libya needed a government change. Therefore, we plan to extend chellian West africa to be Chellian Northwest Africa, as that is more appropriate with the new additions of northern algeria, and libya.

We have done our best to not harm the civilians, and we believe only 12 have died, where more chellian soldiers than that have died. This is not imperialism or anything of that sort, we are trying to really help these people. They will be rebuilt into a much stronger nation by chellis, who has quadrupled the GDP per capita for all african nations it has occupied so far.

However, with this information, I must end this press conference. Thank you." The secretary said, beginning to leave through the back, as reporters yelled for more questions.

Embassy of Chemerica - Tripoli, Libya

Embassy Basement

"According to Lieutenant Monroe, Chellian forces have been spotted just down the street. They are advancing toward us," explained Captain Hector Macia, leader of the thirtyfive strong 'Embassy Protection Brigade' assigned to defend the embassy.

The ambassador scratched his head and looked around the relatively small basement, full of computer equipment, documents, and several civilian refugee seekers. Just as he is about to respond, there are a couple of shouts from the first floor - something about a grenade.

"What is that?" demanded the ambassador.

The Captain ran over to the stairs leading to the first floor just as the door opened and a private appeared.

"Chellian forces have begun their attack, sir. They have thrown a smoke grenade through the window near the main entrance." explained the unnamed private.

"Order our forces to remain at their defense posts. Have them open fire should they attempt to enter."

"Yes sir."

IC:

The Macabee Empire had regular patrol routes through the Straits of Gibraltar ever since the Macabees attempted to claim the Iberian Peninsula. But since the Macabees failed to secure anything due to diplomatic pressure the small patrol task forces had done nothing except watch, savoring a taste for war - a war which was probably never to come. In any case, high command received word of the Chellian invasion of Libya, and there were some sixty seven Spanish operatives in Libya, working as spies to reduce terror networks in the more populated north. It was understood that the Chellians most probably controlled most of Northern Libya, which would easen operations to estract the Macabee Special Forces.

Task Force Aranjuex, boasting only one Escort Carrier and ten Type II (Macabee built) Nuclear Submarines, and several other ships, was rerouted to the area, to rondevouz near any Chellian naval assets. Several urget sattelite databursts were transmitted to Chellian High Command to warn them of the coming Macabee task force, and assuring them of Macabee neutrality in this war. Of course, a few list of the plans were still kept from all others, and the operations were come were to be increasingly clandestine.

Four Type II submarines peeled off the task force and headed towards the Northwest corner of Libya where they were to pick up the Macabee operatives. The operatives were already told, through highly secured Macabee communication systems supplied to them before their drop off into the country, to move to a select spot, given through coordinates. They were given 24 hours.

So, 24 hours later, the submarine which were headed south, at around a depth of 1,800 feet, surfaced near the Libyan coast. The operatives were already boarding small inflatable rafts and made their way to the Spanish submarines. An hour later they boarded and the submarines quickly went back down to 1,800 feet. They turned around and made their way back to the Spanish Task Force, which by now was near the Chellians. After this the Task Force would head back to Oppidum Dei, the Macabee capital, where they would be left, and the Task Force would head back to the Gibraltar.

IC:

The laser range finders of the chellian P-14's flashed over the bodies of the Chemerica guards. "You...Talk english?" Asked one of the Chellian soldiers, obviously not well versed in english. The other chellian spoke up. "We are part of the 1024th Chellian Paratrooper division. We have orders to secure all political and economic positions. We need you to cooperate with the chellian taking of Libya." Said the soldier pointing his gun downward and motioning for his soldiers to do the same.

The Command Nilsar had put in a call for attack helicopters, but they would arrive to late. Two Black eagles had been taken out when they got within 4k meters, and both groups stopped at about 4500 meters, so that they could not hit each other. The Black eagles were obviously getting ready for the main assault.

Lieutenant Nickson watched through the gun sights of his Nilsar. He didnt like this. They couldnt let these black eagles roam free, but he knew they werent able to stop these many tanks. He didnt want his life to end here.

He had no choice. He noticed the black eagles beginning to get closer. "Guys, their coming for us!" Said someone in another tank over the intercom. The FINDERs system in the tanks had identified every enemy tank, and each tank had targets planned. War couldnt be planned, but estimated. They would take out as many bloody tanks as they could.

The First black eagles got within 4k meters.

The guns of three Nilsars roared, followed by 5 of the others. The DU APFSDS shells flew through the air. Five black eagles lit on fire. Two black eagles werent penetrated.

The massive amount of black eagles opened fire. The Nilsars were mostly unaffected in the first barrage, as the ERA deflected most of the badly damaging shots. All the Nilsars opened fire, and 9 more Black eagles were destroyed. The Nilsars stood their ground, as a Kornet from one of the Black eagles hit the front one of the Nilsars front tracks, blowing it up. Three APFSDS shells hit a nilsar's front concurrently, and the driver died, leaving it dead in the water, although the gun was still functioning.

Most of the Black eagles shots were missing, as it was dusty, and they were firing on the move, with inferior but still decent sights. The Nilsars destroyed three more, but with less targets, it was harder to hit. 8 Kornets were fired at the nilsars at the same time, and one blew up, one having its driver killed(the one with the harmed track). The tank was finally finished off as 10 black eagles fired upon it with their guns.

The Nilsars destroyed 5 more, and disabled 2. The Black eagles were at 3500m now, and they had now taken to using most of their tanks against one chellian tank at a time. It seemed to be working. Two volleys of Eagle fire took out two Nilsar tanks.

At this range though, the Nilsars were in luck. It was much easier to hit, even though it was only 500m shorter. One volley of fire and 8 Black eagles were disabled or killed. 12 Kornets, the last the black eagles had, fired all at one nilsar. It never stood a chance, and was obliterated.

The Nilsars had been lucky so far. Most of the tanks ERA were done. 3 Nilsars were destroyed in a volley, with 6 eagles disabled. The Nilsars Decided this was enough. The 7 Nilsars left began going in reverse, full speed. They switched to smoke shells, although each carried no more than three. They fired them fight in front of them, so they would have the time needed to build up smoke. The Galix smoke mortars fired around them, creating further confusing. One Nilsar got hit and killed by a lucky shot, the other six did a quick turn and began going at full speed in reverse. They just hoped to lord they would get that air support soon.

Chellis has let the international community know that Libya has been invaded because of terrorist acts commited by the government. More news will be given later, although with some research(the conference), one could figure out exactly why.
