Introduction
Do your military forces use a wide range of weapons? A seperate firearm for your machinegun, submachinegun and assault rifle needs? The MP in MP68 doesn't stand for Machine Pistol, no - it stands for MultiPurpose - with a few minor adjustments and a conversion kit that is as simple as clipping on the parts you want, the MP68 can function as anything from a tactical submachinegun for police use to a fully-automatic light machine gun or SAW.

As an Assault Rifle:
With a 3 and 5-round burst modes as well as two speeds of full-automatic (an almost imperceptible delay is used for one to slightly slow the rate of fire to make the weapon more controllable while firing on automatic from an active position - the truly full-automatic rate of fire is meant for use in the machine-gun position with a tripod attached and secured, in positions where recoil-based accuracy issues can be dealt with) the MP68 makes for a very versatile assault rifle, and the number of possible attachments means there is no situation this rifle can't handle.
The MP68 was developed from the famous FN FAL rifle to address a need for a rifle capable of dealing with the widely varied situations and environments that Kelonian forces could possibly encounter (police use, counterterrorism, tactical assaults, outright warfare... from the icy mountainous Eastern provinces to urban environments to the dusty hills of the Consolidated Territories in mid-Asia) with equally high effectiveness.

The ability to switch easily between weapon roles is the key to the usefulness of this weapon - a squad of soldiers in the field may have their situation switch very quickly from a small tactical assault to an all-out firefight - will your soldiers be at their most effective in the latter armed only with weapons meant for the former? A soldier with a small and easily-carried conversion kit can change the MP68 from an assault rifle to a fully-powered light machine gun in seconds - clip in the belt-feeder, attach a tripod and flick the weapon into High Speed and you're away. Also, familiarity with the weapon is an important factor in how quickly a soldier picks up the skills for a new role - using the same weapon for every role, with only slight character differences, will vastly improve the speed at which you can retrain current soldiers for different duties. Being based on the design of one of the most famous and successful assault rifles in the world can't do it any harm, either - there's nothing like working off that kind of pedigree.

As a Submachinegun:
As a tactical weapon, the MP68 finds a whole new set of uses - if size is an issue with your submachinegun requirements, the stock can be shortened by almost half or removed entirely - and choosing from single shots, 3-round or 5-round bursts gives you a choice of exactly how much force you want to use (the weapon does not fire on automatic with the stock removed - this is for safety and accuracy reasons - this is not a spray-and-pray weapon). The weapon has been used in this tactical mode by the Kelonian Special Forces in field trials, and saw active service fighting Gurov Isolationist terrorist groups.

As a Machine Gun:
As I said previously, a soldier with the general-issue conversion kit can turn the basic rifle into a fully functional light machinegun in a matter of seconds without any other equipment. The versatility of the weapon is what Kelonian forces who field-trialled the weapon praised the most. The high-speed automatic ROF can't hurt, either - thousand rounds a minute makes a formidible weapon for any enemy to face down. Easily mounted on a jeep or other light vehicle, the barrel of the MP68 is specially strengthened to handle the fire rates the weapon is capable of, but it's shortness does make for a noisy weapon, and the recoil can be formidible on High-Speed (and makes accuracy an issue, which is why the weapon is capable of a Mid-Speed automatic setting).

Pricing:
The weapon retails at $850 per unit, $900 for a unit with the complete attachment kit. Large orders and/or contracts are negotiable.

AP-22 Assault Pistol from Kelarms
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v357/Rentro/AP-22.jpg
Specification:
Manufacturer: Kelarms Corp.
Calibre: 9mm Parabellum or equivalent
Fire Modes: Single-shot, 3-round burst, Automatic
Attachments: Silencer, Screw-on shoulder stock, Large-capacity clips (32 and 50-round magazines availible).

Introduction:
Need a compact, light weapon with a powerful punch? If it's bang for your buck you want, you can't go far wrong with the AP22 - intended for use as a main weapon rather than a sidearm, for units where sheer speed and firepower takes precidence over pinpoint accuracy, such as strategic ambushes or rushes, the weapon is only slightly bigger than a Beretta 92 pistol, yet has a rate of fire that would put many submachineguns to shame.

Made from inexpensive materials, the weapon is also very cheap, making it ideal for developing nations or private security forces - anyone who needs a small, powerful weapon without breaking the bank. While it lacks the marvellous adaptibility of our flagship product, the MP-68, it's ability to act as anything from a pistol to a fully-functional submachinegun and even a basic assault rifle (with screw-on shoulder stock) means the AP-22 is still a highly versatile weapon.

What You Get Buying an AP-22:
When you buy an AP-22, you are buying a quality firearm for the nation or organization without mulit-million dollar contracts to throw around, built with the asssurance of construction that comes from buying from Kelarms, a company which has been adapting and developing weapons for the Kelonian military for years without a strict philosophy of versatility and reliability. If you're on a tight budget, why issue your troops with an assault rifle and a pistol sidearm when an assault pistol would serve both purposes at the same time? It's extra expense and extra weight to carry around if the more advanced functions of an assault rifle are less important to you than size and weight.

Possible Uses of the AP-22:
For a developing nation's main army: It's cheap, it's reliable, and it saves you buying two weapons instead of one.
For forward scouting units: These units need to move fast and defend themselves - they're not going to be needing pinpoint accuracy from their weapon.
For police use: A large submachinegun such as an MP5 can intimidate the general public, whereas a smaller weapon such as the AP-22 gives police the firepower they need without worrying the people they are protecting with a large, intimidating weapon.
Ambush squads: Again, speed of movement and firepower is important, as well as the ability to remain hidden, so size becomes an issue - all areas where the AP-22 excels.

Pricing:
The weapon retails at $260, or $300 with silencer, shoulder stock and larger magazines.

I understand that with tools and a conversion kit, you can remove the barrel and replace it - And even rechamber the weapon for another calibre. Something I am wondering, though, is whether or not the weapon is equipped with a quick-change barrel in its SAW configuration, because even the most well-designed barrel overheats under sustained fire. As a result, even most light machine guns are designed in such a way that without tools and without much in the way of time, the gunner can swap out the barrel of his weapon and replace it with a new one once the original barrel overheats. Otherwise, this is an impressive weapon. Kudos!

Binthor, order confirmed - Enjoy your use of our weapons.

Kotterdam - While it's quite a swift change, it's not quite the traditional quick-change system:
The left-front side of the housing can be released and hinges up to reveal the barrel release mechanism, where quick-release clips must be released. A secured 'flap' on the same side must also be released and dropped down - then the barrel can be easily removed and replaced. It's a little slower than it could be, but we find it a suitable system. Changing calibres is a little more complex as the feeder mechanism obviously needs to be adapted - I guess a feed mechanism attachment could be used to do the job, but I didn't quite think of that :p

Fascinating. We use a similar multipurpose weapon, but our method of conversion is quite different. Because of the modular design of the weapon, a VSg-635 can be changed from one configuration to another in the field and without tools if the soldier has a conversion kit. Our SAW configuration also employs a more traditional quick-change barrel, but we can hardly fault your design - Especially, based as it is on the FN-FAL, a weapon still in service in one incarnation or another in our armed forces as both a squad marksman weapon, and a primary firearm for our reserves. Again, kudos!

As we have recently created a new Sect. of our Police Force: The HRF (Hostile Reactionary Force - Created due to riots cities about Liberalisation; showed that we needed a sect. of the Police Force to be equipped like the Military to deal with these situations).

The number of men in the HRF is 5000, however we would like to know whether this weapon is suitable for such a situation, I.e. Putting down a riotous crowd that has weapons.

Militant liberals? What is the world coming to? :p
Do you mean weapons like clubs and such, or firearms? Using a less powerful cartridge in the weapon, or rubber bullets, would make it more than useful for crowd control - if you need to be a little more persuasive, just putting the weapon on single-shot and using it sparingly would probably disperse your crowd.

::Shrugs:: let me tell you, the M-16 was a enough of a bitch to clean, when i had to turn mine in at the end of Basic it took my 5 days of cleaning. And it still wasn't perfect, part of that was inexperience but still it sucks. The more nooks and crannies the worse it gets.

The training version of the British L85A1 was horrible to clean, too - but then the Enfield is a temperamental weapon at the best of times, and has a reputation for being difficult to maintain. Admittedly my experience with firearms is fairly limited, but I get what you're saying - I guess maintenance would prove the downside of the weapon, but then who on NS *really* ever factors that in? :p
