Process
Having worked with many different species from across the world, including the human genetic code, we have compiled a "genetic library" for very many traits and behaviors. The process begins with our scientists specifying the traits that deviate from the norm (and randomizing traits that are not specified). The genetic code for the future being is created using a patented process by one of our machines and is inserted into a human egg cell and grown as a regular human would. The "delivery at age" is achieved with a cancer-like process that grows the proper body to the desired cutoff age. However, if the person were to be released from our growing center at this point, it would be merely an infant in an adult body. However, we use a revolutionary "life simulation" (for lack of a better name) process that simulates the life of your order. The simulation has been designed by the best programmers available and is constantly updated. The simulation runs extremely fast in compression to normal time, because of the speed of the interfacing between the brain and the program. We are able to pre-set conditions and alter conditions as time progresses. The process ends at the cut-off age of the physical body and inside the facility, so the person is not surprised to be in the facility. The training and experience (and wisdom, if you will) take place at this stage. The person who the simulation is run for is able to make his or her own decisions and has complete free will (aside from the events that happen in the simulation not relating to the person's choices). However, the person is prepared from early life to become what you have specified them to. If your order exceeds one person, and you specify your group to be able to work together, we can interface all of them in a simulation. When they are released from the growing center, they are given a contract to sign. Because of the simulation, however, the people will certainly sign the contract for whatever terms you wish. Should we need to, we can do some testing with them in the real world with our psychologists. If you wish (and wish to wait a day or two for completion) we can put them into a situation of your choice and film it for you so you can see your future agent.

Return policy
If for some reason you are unsatisfied with your order, you may return the person (i.e. fire them, unless your contract states a date) with an explanation of what went wrong and what could be improved. We will send you a replacement free of charge (if you follow this policy). If you wish to re-order an identical person, you may do that for 75% of the original's price. Please note that this return policy applies only to defects in the manufacturing.

Cloning
Clones have many uses. If you want a 100% compatible blood type or organ, your clone can have "spares" of whatever you want. If you wish to order a twin, we will need to interview you about your experiences so your clone can relate to you.

The process and return policies are basically the same.

We have a different set of growing vats for the clones, but we can still only grow only 100 per week.

Neovirus™
However deceiving the name may be, this is not a harmful virus. This is essentially a method of "gene therapy" in virus-form. The Neovirus™ has both DNA and RNA. The DNA codes for the desired trait and the RNA for the entire virus. The virus enters the cell (it is designed to enter only the type of cell that you specify) and replaces the genetic information needing to be replaced in the cell with the strand of DNA. It uses the RNA to create a few copies of the virus (which is treated like a normal protein by the cell) which gets exported through the Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) like normal exported proteins.

All you need to specify is a trait that you wish to change in your specimens, and we will produce 10 10ml bottles of the desired neovirus™. The recommended dosage is 10ml (meaning that anything over that will not produce extra results and anything under that will not live up to the transformation speed), so you get 10 doses of the enhancement.

This virus was developed for Ximea who asked for "it to code for enhanced speed and agility, increased muscle mass, enhanced cardiovascular and muscular endurance, superior immune function, and accelerated metabolism" and "accelerated and enhanced tissue regeneration properties".

Properties
The neovirus™ has been modeled after HIV (a retrovirus) and other viruses. It is spreadable only by injection. However, like HIV, the neovirus™ has an "infection" timeframe of about a week from injection. This means that the neovirus™ isn't transmittable by touch or casual contact, but is transmittable by sharing needles, sexual contact or blood-to-blood contact for a week after injection. However, after a week has passed, the virus is not produced any longer (see "transformation process") and is not transmittable. The doses are in a special liquid that enhances their longevity so that they may be properly injected. The neovirus™ in the liquid has a shelf life of 14 hours outside the bottle and is cable of being stored for 20 days inside the bottle.

Creation Process
The neovirus™ is created by specifying the traits on the computer, which then produces a few deadly copies of the virus. These deadly copy of the virus is much like HIV in the fact that they burst the cell they invade and release more of itself. However, these viri code for the end product, we just use these deadly strains to produce many more copies of the neovirus™. The deadly virus is placed on a culture of the cell the virus is designed to invade to create the end product. We repeat this until a sufficient quantity of the end product is produced. We then add the preserving liquid to the culture and bottle the product into what you will receive.

Transformation Process
The injected virus spreads through the bloodstream and body and finds suitable cells to infect. Once a suitable cell has been found, the virus gets inside the cell like any other virus. The DNA and RNA then go their separate paths. The RNA codes for the entire virus (DNA and RNA) and proceeds to make several copies of itself which are exported through the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to find more cells to convert. The DNA, meanwhile, goes to attach itself to the cell's genetic code inside the nucleus where it becomes a part of the genome and becomes more visible for transcription than the gene that it replaces. The cell then begins to act with its altered gene which eventually reaches the end result. When the cell multiplies, the new gene is copied along with the DNA so the new cells do not need to be "re-infected".

Non-Human Subjects
If you so wish, the Genetic Engineering Center of Solid Water will gladly clone, design, enhance or produce Neovirus™ for non-human subjects of your specification.

The processes will be the same, but may take longer.

We only have lab space for 1,000 non-human growth vats at any one time.

I would imagine if you used cryogenics, it would be less risky. Done in one week, $1 billion total. (It should be $1.2 billion, but since it was initially your idea, you'd get a discount.)

We are primarily interested in the methods and tools that you use to manipulate and insert genetic code into organisms - we already have the genetic information that we want to insert.

We believe that we can adequately maintain the facilities needed on our own - if at all possible, we would like our own facilities, for security reasons, since there are might be radical groups that seek to interfere with our research.

The next part is fairly tricky to design, because of the limited number of restriction enzymes that cut DNA. We need to assemble our own RNA and DNA using molecular manufacturing. After that stage is completed, we send the RNA and DNA through a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction [I think that's what it is...]) in specially designed vats to create more of the genetic material. That genetic material is sent to the next vat which processes that RNA and DNA into the pre-finished product. What is processed goes on to step 4, into another vat, which creates the finished product. We then need to package it, do quaility assurance (large and powerful electron microscopes) and then ship it. If you want to purchase the step 1 machines (molecular manufacturing stage) we would be glad to sell you the plans for... a negotiable price... 3: Done in two weeks, $20 billion for 1 kilogram of seeds. Grow them like you would normal vines. They will grow faster than normal vines, though. Make sure to collect the seeds before burnination.

Grow them like you would normal whales. If succesfully mated, they will produce one offspring every week, maturing time is three weeks, growth to optimum meat size is one month.

Lord Jamith of Slimestoria has requested the creation of an organic land seige weapon, to be called simply, "The Titan." This beast should be at least 100 to 200 meters long, with incredibally thick, strong armor. The armor can be organic, or man-made. It should cover the entire beast, including some on the underside, should it be flipped over. It should have high endurance to radiation, flame, and poison, so it can be used to attack nations who may have been recently hit by WMDs. There should be several large areas on the back where the creature can have turrets(I will have to buy them myself) attached to the back. The Titan should be able to move and shoot with the turrets by itself. It should have human or near-human intelligence, so it will not only know how to use the weapons, but who to use them on. For built in weaponry, I want the beast to have some sort of organ in the roof of the mouth, allowing it to shoot hot streams of fire, or some sort of radiation. We would like 2 to be made, one male one female for breeding purposes.

If the creature cannot be created, then we thank you for your time. If the price is to high, then we will wait until our military funding is higher and try again.

I will return in a month to purchase these creatures. Also, would it be possible to cut holes into the exoskeleton, and put in the cybernetic implants myself? I am also planning on putting large amounts of man-made armor, to further protect the beast.

Ken Komusaji was sitting in his office, viewing the security cameras aboveground. There has been no response from Scandanavian States for over two weeks. Besides, the inspectors from Iuthia were due within the hour. The entrance to the elevator that lead to the underground facility was moitored by four cameras. Security was watching every camera 24/7. If SS wanted to get in by now, they must have noticed the havy secuirty. Maybe they planned on catching the CEO outside of teh facility, but that would be highly unlikley, because the living quarters were located within the facility. Anyone going in would need to go through the airlock, the facility was a level five clean facility. Just in case anything contaminated the central processing rooms. The mainframes were cut off from the rest of the world, and were backed up several times. The scientists sometimes went away for weekends, but most of them lived in the facility, with their families. The only things that didn't go through the airlock were the cars, which, once going down the elevator, were parked in the garage.

It was a fortress. Or maybe a prison. But outside wasn't any better.

Greetings from the Imperial Dominion of Sdaeriji. It is the understanding of the Imperial Praetorian Guard that Solid Water performs genetic engineering to order. We are very interested in this program. The Imperial Praetorian Guard, personal guardians to Chairman Santite and elite paramilitary arm of the Sdaerijian armed forces, is looking to genetically engineer a new generation of Praetors.

The Imperial Praetorian Guard would like 2250 males and 2250 females, all age 18. They all must have brown hair and blue eyes, and must be extremely attractive. The males’ heights should range between 6’3” and 6’6”, while the females should range between 6’0” and 6’3”. The males, when fully grown, should weight approximately 210 to 235 pounds, and the females, when fully grown, should weight approximately 150 to 175 pounds. Both males and females should have less than two per cent body fat. Neither males nor females should have any sexual desires whatsoever, but for breeding purposes, the females must have a highly accelerated reproductive drive, capable of bringing a child to term two to four weeks after conception.

A redundant second heart should also be included that can take over functions should the first heart suffer injury. [OOC: Bump. I don't feel like posting an empty bump, so here's a small part of the inspection thread that I'm working on. Iuthia, if there's something you want me to change, tell me (post or TG).]

The inspectors from Iuthia were driving along the road that led to the Genetic Engeneering Center of Solid Water's facilities. They drove up to a concrete wall with barbed wire on the top. It had to be at least ten feet high.

"Jesus, that's quite some security they've got here," said Frank.

The inspectors' jeep drove up to what seemed to be a gate -- at this point, it was hard to tell apart this wall from anything else along it. It seemed too uniform, stretching in a circle around the entire GECSW premises. It was hard to tell if the intention of the wall was to keep people in or to keep them out. The gate was solid steel, shining amongst the concrete. As they drove up to it, they noticed a small black orb attachecd to the wall. There was a roof over this part, it too was covered with barbed wire. A terminal spoke up from the drivers' side of the vehicle in a monotone computer voice.

"State your name, clearance level and reason for entering."

"We are Frank Starr and Ethan Harrisson from Iuthia, here to inspect your facilities."

"Please wait," said the terminal and the inspectors waited for a few moments before another voice, this time human, spoke to them.

"You are approved to enter. Two armed guards will escort you. Please get out of your vehicle, give the keys to one of the guards and proceed," said the voice and the terminal clicked. The inspectors waited for a few seconds before the gates opened and three guards came through the door with guns pointed. There were three of them, but they were not two-armed, that was for sure. Each guard had four arms, two of which were holding a gun pointed to the inspectors. The other hands were swaying as they walked, like normal humans' hands.

"Please step outside of your vehicle and give your keys to Robert. We have been expecting a visit from you," said the leftmost guard. The inspectors did as they were told, and the gate opened completley. It was not a sight the inspectors had readied themselves for. There were no trees in sight. The entire area inclosed within the walls was green with grass, neatly trimmed, albeit empty, save the circular, shining posts that held up the bulbous orbs, distributed evenly through the area. The only irregularity was in the very center, with a small concrete building with a large sattelite dish perched on top of an observatory standing three stories high. The guards moved aside and told the inspectors to do likewise. As soon as they had done that, the third guard, now inside the jeep, drove it along the road that seemed to end at the observatory building, leaving the four-person party on a bit of a walk to the building. Figuring the guards were grown in the facility, Frank decided he should start his inspection here, before entering the building.

"So what's it like having four arms?" he asked, hoping beyond hope it was at all polite.

"I was wondering when you'd get around to interviewing me," said the guard with a smile. "Call me Sven. I actually can't imagine what it would be like to have two arms. Really help in combat situations, since all weapons are designed for two-armed people. Like, there was this one time, where I carried an injured soldier while returning fire with my other arms. But it does give you strange looks sometimes," Ethan realized he was staring and turned to look at the building, "but not more than your elven person on a vacation in a pure human country. Helps in videgames, too. I can use the joystick, number keypad and still be able to type."

"And how often are you on vacation? Do you get paid?"

"Well, the pay here is at least twice as large as in other high-security areas and we all get a month of leave a year."

"Do you all get along or are there rivalries for positions?"

Sven laughed. "We've all known each other since we were in vats. You know, brothers, sisters, friends because mothers are in PTA together. Besides, we're all intermarried. There's the whole deal of management wanting us to stay here. Living quarters are better than anything you'd ever be able to find for a decent price in a city. Normal hours, family's all here, vacation, four arms. The works. It's not for no reason, also. Crackhead greenpeace, extermists, religeous fanatics caliming God sent them to get this technology, corporate espionage. We need to keep the place highly secured."

The group was nearing the building. They could see that there were several truck-sized plates on the ground that were most likley elevators. The jeep had disapeared. There were also several heli-pads that were most liley elevators as well. The orbs become a bit unpleasant. "This isn't an interview or anything, but what's with the orbs?" asked Frank.

"Well," said Sven, "that's how we create the 3-d holographic image of the facility. You know, sonar. I imagine you'll be shown all that on your tour."

The group arrived near the entrance to a person-sized elevator. The guard pressed both of his hands on platforms near the elevator. They both signaled green, and the elevator door opened. The party stepped inside, and was treated to an elevator ride down of twelve seconds. They arrived at a small landing, exited, and the elevator doors closed behind them. What lay before them was the clear-glass airlock, with one orb in the center of the room.

"The airlock takes one person at a time. Inspectors first."

Sdaeriji: Bones would do fine. However, it all depends on your fossil type (blarg, I forget what they're called). If its a piece of rock (no bone) chances are slim that there is any organic material left (there is a chance, though, we'd need a large sample of a rock to put in a vat to attempt to salvage any biological material). If the fossil is a bone or, if luck is with you, in amber, then all is fine.

Frank Star decided to go first into the airlock, Frank was a tall man, maybe 6’1” tall with blonde hair and like many Iuthians he and his colleague were mildly tanned and seemed to be in reasonable shape, they weren’t fit in the same say Sven was, though it had to be said that Sven was a genetically engineered security guard and was built and trained to stay in shape. However the two men weren’t overweight simply because it was common in Iuthia for people to exercise often.

Meanwhile Ethan was a little shorter, about 5’11” with short military crop black hair. The two men wore suites one would expect from the Iuthian Diplomatic Corps and seemed to keep a professional posture throughout the interviewing process. So far they seemed content with that they had seen. After Frank was through the airlock, Ethan followed to see what lay on the otherside.

As Frank came near the glass doors, they hissed open and he entered. The doors closed behind him, and he was quickly soaked with some kind of liquid. Bowerful blasts of air came from the top, left, right, and bottom of the airlock. As the fans' noise level decreased, the doors in front of Frank opened, and he walked into the facility.

"I trust you've had a most pleasant trip, gentlemen?" said a man in a buisness suit, shaking Frank's hand just as he was getting out of the airlock. "Hi, I'm David Narez, a personal advisor to Mr. Komusaji, who basically runs the place. I'll be your tour guide."

"I am Frank Starr, and this is my asistant Ethan Harisson," said Frank, shaking hands with David. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"As is for me," said David, shaking hands with Ethan. "Well, I suppose we'd better get started! The elevator ride might have seemed short, but you're actually about fifty floors underground. The hissing you hear are the air handlers pumping air out of the facility. We need to keep a positive pressure so we don't get any contaminants. We run at around 5 PSI, that's enough to keep us safe from chemichal attacks, as long as its not a large blast. Since we're underground, we're also protected from bombings. The airlock is monitored at all times by live personell, just in case anyone gets past the entry to the elevator, which is monitored when its in use. That airlock is the only entrance to the facility. We have emergency stores for a year in the fallout zone, which I'll get to later, and for six months of regular use."

"I asked the guards about the orbs, and they said that they were sonar detectors. Anything more on that?" asked Ethan, as David was walking through passageways, and leading the inspectors to somewhere.

"Yes, we use advanced 3-d holographic rendering for our security room, which will be our first stop today. We have to coordinate the signals in the controls, so that none of them get signals from the other orbs. But that is relativley painless, because it's all computerized. It's really easy to spot anything moving on the holographic panel, that's why we prefer using that over cameras."

"What about scrambling signals that infiltrators might use?"

"That's easy to detect, protocol says we go to full lockdown if that happens. We have searchlights, backup cameras, the observatory deck and a few surprises for anyone who might have made it through alive," said David as he pressed his hands to a panel near a door. The red light turned green and the door opened.

It was quite a sight. The walls were covered with LCDs, showing virtual 3-d places of the facility. But the most awe-inspiring sight was in the center of the two-story tall room: a holographic projection of the entire facility, lit up in pale blue, much like the holographic images in Star-Wars. However, there was no shading of the objects, the image was only shown in 3-d, light is not captured through sound waves. The room was circular, with stariways leading up to the second floor which monitored the top levels of the facility, including the aboveground. There was even the surrounding forest Frank and Ethan had driven through.

"Yes, here you see the entire 'Big Brother' security system," said David. "Unidentified organisms are colored red, so they are easy to see. We detect the unidentified personel if the security system gets signals from anywhere except the main gate. Plus, the security here authorize how many persons or objects can come through. Red is unidentified intruder, yellow is wildlife, grey is authorised visitor, green is faculty and blue is the color of the unmoving objects. It's beautiful isn't it? I could give you the entire tour just from this one room, but I imagine that's not up to standards. I'll just give a quick showing of facilities so you know where I'm taking you and what the entire place looks like. Follow me."

David walked up the stairs to the top observatory floor, with Frank and Ethan noting that the sides of the platform they were on glowed with the color that was projected on the center of the room. There were also projectors from above and below the room.

"That's to get early warning on anyone who might be coming. We have hidden gun platforms in the walled area, so we don't endanger personel if we get intruders. There's enough firepower hidden underground to rip one thousand people to shreds. You see the parking garage," David pointed to a multistory undergound facility with parked cars. "That's where your jeep is right now. That's the elevator to the airlock," David pointed to a shaft that led down to the double-doored entrance. "This is where we are," David pointed to a large cavity in the ground. "The signal itself doesn't render on the image because sound waves just pass through them. The obseratory elevator is right through the door in this room. Since that's the only part of the building that's aboveground, we have double doors -- not an airlock, mind you -- to the elevator. The rooms and passageways are built so that there are steel doors that close faster than you blink, isolating any passage or room we want. Breaches would glow red, but we havn't had any. The elevator passage to the observatory has more doors than you could ever hope to get through with a normal bomb. The cloning section is here, the large order engeneered growth section is here, the small order cloning and engeneered section is here, and we are currecntly building two large vats for large creatures," said David, all the while pointing to sections on the projection that showed up as circular rooms with vats. "The living quarters are also monitored, as you see," David said pointing to a large area whith living spaces. "But noone ever looks closley. Protocol says we should, if we suspect anything odd in people's behavor, but that has yet to happen."

"What is the large underground area with lots of yellow critters?" asked Ethan, while he gazed at the image. The yellow was quite easy to see in all the blue of the forest.

"And that would be our last destination, and one that does not infringe on human rights more than Raven Corps' genetic storefront. In there (we call it "The Biosphere") we keep a host of genetically engineered animals, plants, insects and the like. It's only safe to keep them from the aboveground. However, conditions are much like aboveground, with a sun-like projection simulating the sun, simulated weather systems and a fully autonomous food chain. It's the place we test our animal creations in. Really, some of the stuff there would silence the Raven Corps genetic storefront for good. We havn't gone public offering organisms from there, but we expect to before long. The plants in there are easily a match for anything you'll find bred and born naturally, not to mention the animals. In there hundreds of species have become extinct without the knowledge or documentation of any classification agency, only to be revamped for the next generation in our labs. We look at what works and what doesn't, and fix it in the labs. Our scientists sometimes get short on creativity, so they end up borrowing ideas from games. In fact, I will have to show you the effectivness of Hydralisks in real life. The Biosphere has its own monitoring station, closer to the labs, but since this is the master projection, it shows up here too."

The two inspectors listened carefully, taking notes where they could. It was odd how they had designed the facility to remove the likelihood of rejection... the upbringing of these GM people was conducted in such a way as to indoctrinate them into not wishing to be idependant... an interesting method and far more advanced then Iuthian doctrination. Though essentially it wasn't any different from the way Iuthia trained Black Vipers... just more advanced in method.
