Plastic tanks for sale

JSA DARPA has developed plastic decoy tanks.

These tanks are hollow plastic shells which look exactly like the real thing.
A 15hp engine and 4 wheels placed underneath the "tracks" propels them to the top speed of the real deal. They are operated remotely and a video camera system allows for obstacle avoidance. They're not very good at traversing rough terrain but they can go off road. They are totally vulnerable to all weapons, even 9mm pistols. A heat generator gives them the same IR signature as a normal tank, making them indistinguishable from real tanks. This will cause your enemies to waste countless IR missiles on these fake tanks while your own tanks continue on.
They cost $3,000 each and are available in a variety of types

You idjit. They can be used as traps. For example Im going to buy 8,400 of the SA-13 SAM's, but intead of SA-13, I'd like SA-20's and SA-6's (I use an upgraded SA-6). I will then place them in areas with Radar emitters, while keeping soldiers nearby with Igla-S SAMs, and a "cool" SA-6M3 ready for an ambush. The plane hits its obvious target, and then is owned by the Igla. Any friends that it has are rapaged by the SA-6M3. ;)

Plastic! So THAT'S what we've been doing wrong. We made our Decoy tanks out of Nerf Foam.

Apparently Fibreglass works well too, but we figure it's just cheaper to use crappy old tanks as decoys than waste money buying "new" ones.

OOC: Sounds like the type of product ViZion made well over a year ago when we were a very young nation... nicely done, good idea...
IC:
Behind closed doors...
In a meeting with President Maybury, General Alzenhon explained why ViZion should invest in this. "Sir, this in an ingenious product and idea. It is a strategists dream: tricking the enemy into believing something that is of no threat as a threat, and ambushing them. This is excellent! I would suggest we buy 1,000 of these for testing, and I believe you'll see how worthy these are!" the General exclaimed to President Maybury. After a debate that lasted over half an hour, President Maybury finally agreed to this. "Fine, 1,000 of these. But, you best be right on this. If this money ends up being a waste, it is your ass."

The General agreed, and, after being dismissed, went to put in the order.

The order...
We will purchase 1,000 of these tanks. We wish for an even mix for the following:
Leopard 2A6 EX
Arjun
Chieftain (FV 4201)
M8 AGS
Stingray II
GDLS 120S
Ramses 2
Vickers Mk7

Order confirmed however, we will need to borrow one each of: Leopard 2A6 EX,
Arjun, Chieftain (FV 4201), Stingray II, GDLS 120S, Ramses 2 and Vickers Mk7.
As we have none to base the models off of. And pictures are insufficent, they must be functional vehicles so that we can get the ir signature right. We will return them when we are done.

OOC: uh.... does my military budget make any sense? I have over $160 billion per NS year in military funding (currently paiding 23 billion in maintaince for my military).

A fake army is REALLY appealing to our militarists in the government, we wanted boats (not naval ships, made of glorious steel!) , but ships would be better but stretching it I know, floating plastic battleships and aircraft carriers are expensive to produce, but if he can make those to then sure!

A mass of plastic tanks in numbers of 3-8 million tanks lined up along the fields performing military formations would certainly scare the crap out of ANY nation around our size (seen from a satellite or spy plane that is), and could of invalueable use before spear-heading massive invasions and sending expensive REAL ships into a potential trap just to ensure the other forces make it, with a fake army ALL the real forces can be used in an overwhelming show of force and rip the enemy apart before they can move back after having been tricked by the fake group. We will pay great costs for huge fake forces because of the low-cost maintaince and cheapness and life it will save.

Johnified America,
Slaytanicca currently uses Soviet Bloc model ST-21 tanks,
and is on its way to unveiling designs of its own. For these
reasons, purchases of hardware from you would be of limited
use to us. We have however heard such excellent reports of
your decoys that we wish to purchase production rights, if
they would be made available to us. We would pay well for
the secrets of their construction, and assure you the
information would be treated with the utmost discretion.

We wish to ask, if we may, if the radar signiture of the decoys
are comparable to that of the actual tank, and also if the
design could be easily scaled for much larger tanks.

We eagerly anticipate reply. If it is alright by you, we would
appreciate these proceedings be clandestine.

Sincerely,
Jeff C Gorevomit, Slaytanicca

OOC: If you reckon my guy's being cheeky feel free to tell him to f*ck off :) Otherwise, I know I said clandestine (sp? WTF?) but obviously I'll mention my decoys OOC right when I deploy.

IC: Alright I am providing two lists of forces we use and we greatly wish to have as decoys and deterrents to any aggressive nation. These ships are EXTREMELY large and thats why we gave such a high offer per ship done. The price still stands at 1 million a ship. (We won't do boats because we cancelled the other order).

Ships in our naval forces that we wish to order decoys of.
Atlas Class Carriers x 100
Hades Class Supreme Battleships x 1000
Athena Class Missile Cruisers x 400
Hermes Class Destroyers x 700
Helena Class Ocean Hospital Ships x 100
Neptune Class Assault Carriers x 2000
Banshee Class Frigates x 500
Dryad Class Gunboats x 1000
Cargo Class Freighters x 300
Wright Class Aviation Logistics Support Ships x 500
The price comes to $6,600,000,000 for these in total.

Plastic tanks in which we are in DIRE need of for military training and decoy units we will purchase one tank for the standard $3000 each.

Tanks in our land forces we wish to order decoys of:
T-90 Main Battle Tank x 2,000,000
High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) w/ TOW x 1,000,000
XM1091 Fuel/Water Tankers x 1,000,000
Mitsubishi Type 90 MBT x 1,000,000
The price comes to $15,000,000,000 for these in total.

We know that fake forces will far outnumber the real ones, but the very notion of fake forces in so unusual for nationstates nations that many forget that they were used to make the enemy scared and confused before attacking. The total price comes to $21,600,000,000, money wired upon confirmation of purchase.

Johnified America,
While disappointed regarding the news of the radar signitures,
we are still impressed with your design and would very much
like to purchase production rights, if available. We humbly ask
if they would be available to us and, if so, how much you are
willing to part with them for.

As I mentioned before, your secrets will be treated with the
utmost discretion. Also, we would very much appreciate these
communications remain clandestine.

Regards,
Jeff C Gorevomit, Slaytanicca
