The current rendition of the Combination Anti-Missile Defense System, the Mk44, features a 30mm gatling cannon and sixteen 40mm rockets guided by a LIDAR control system. This has been deemed to be only a moderate measure against super-heavy anti-ship cruise missiles. As such, the Mk45 has been commissioned to better protect the fleet. The new system will feature a 40mm ETC gatling and 84mm rockets with NPI radar and infrared for terminal guidance while the onboard LIDAR fire control system for the CAMDS provides general intercept information.

Wow... So detailed... Sorry for the sarcasm, but you need more information along with understanding the concepts behind this weapon...

The CAMDS is basically a CIWS that uses whatever caliber of bullet is necessary and a 16 guided rocket battery to engage missiles, nothing overly complicated. I hadn't realized that any greatly detailed explanation was necessary.

Well, its always better to have more information than a little...
why not just attach an AGS-30... ie an automatic grenade launcher with a higher rate of fire then yours, more range (Several Kilometres) and more ammunition... just an idea.

The 40mm ETC gatling is capable of firing thousands of rounds per minute and engaging targets out to 3.2 kilometers. The rockets are capable of engaging targets up to double that range and a battery will empty itself in three second flat, with each of its missiles moving and targetting incoming targets independently of each other. It is a more than capable system.
