HISTORIC BACKGROUND
The Grunges arrived from Aztlan to what it is now the territory of Grunge-France approximately around the year 1300 b.C. Belonging to the Nahuatl ethnicity, the Grunges were among the people who followed the priest Tenoch while seeking for a place to settle. However, they separated from the priest Tenoch due to problems he had with the leader of the Grunge tribe, Momio, which caused the rupture between the Nahuatl people: Those who stayed with Tenoch and founded the Aztec Empire and those who left the Continent and came across the AoE2 Continent who founded the Grunge Kingdom.
The Grunges established in the island of Ur, which was already inhabited by some natives. After a few skirmishes, the Grunges agreed to take the northern part of the island, and the natives –the Askits- took the southern part.
In 1521 their nahuatl cousins, the Aztecs, were conquered by the Spaniards. The Spaniards, after learning about the existence of the Grunges, armed a new expeditionary force and decided to conquer the Grunge Kingdom, which, however, proved to be well capable of defending itself, and managed to defeat the Expeditionary Force: They seized the Spanish technology and the Spanish knowledge that the invaders took with them, and the Grunges remained independent until 1630.
In 1630, the Spaniards, tired of their incapability to conquer the Grunge-Kingdom, launched a massive combined attack with the French forces: in less than 4 months, the whole island of Ur was conquered. Once the island was fully conquered and the Grunges and Askits were defeated, problems appeared in the Spanish-French alliance, and in an opportunistic tactic, France seized the entire island for itself.
In 1789, in the cenit of the French Revolution, the French governor of the territory, Ernest Mistral, declared the island totally independent from any foreign power and that the entire island should govern itself, and declared war to France. Afterwards, Mistral decided to restablish the old rule of the Grunge Royal Family, and declared Kurt I King of the Island of Ur. After this, the southern part of the island, that had no Grunge but Askit heritage revolted against this decision, and eventually, managed to declare its independence, and created the Republic of Ur an Ass, in the south of Ur Island.
After losing half of the territory of the kingdom to the Republic of Ur an Ass, King Kurt I declared the official Independence of the Kingdom of Grunge-France, with Ernest Mistral as its Prime Minister.
After the secession of the Ur island, both Grunge-France and Ur an Ass integrated to the community of the AOE2 Region, which was in a civil war: Many nations revolted against the dictatorial rule of the Delegate nation, Grundaddy. King Kurt I decided to send a small, without-training Grunge-French army to the front, lead by its prime minister Mistral, to support the nations against Grundaddy. Ur decided to support Grundaddy, and launched offensives against the Grunge-French territory.
When the war ended, the nation of Grundaddy and its allies were defeated and forced to endorse a new delegate. The Allied Forces, lead by the nation of Kham, decided that Grunge-France would make a good delegate, and declared Ernest Mistral new delegate of the Region.
That was the last time an AoE2 Nation attacked another AoE2 Nation. Ur signed several treaties with Grunge-France to assure peace and friendship, and the whole region started an ambitious program of a shared military estructure.
The entire nation then launched itself against the threat of Communism: Galdania, a Communist nation, was invaded by the Grunge-French army with the support of a few other nations, who faced a significant international opposition lead by The Bisons (aka Iron Blood) Galdania itself and Neo-Wu. Nonetheless, Galdania surrendered and was forced to disarm.
Short after this, A civil uprising started to cause significant turmoil in Grunge-France: a soldier called Gustav Erkos started to make campaigns against the supremacy of the French inhabitants over the native Grunges, and claimed that even if the king was Grunge, it was just a puppet of the French inhabitants lead by Mistral. The problem increased and Gustav Erkos raised a civil army which used to take some minor towns, and King Kurt sent once again Prime minister Mistral to the frontline to take back the towns. However, due to his advanced age, Mistral died, causing even more chaos in the society, something that helped Gustav Erkos to grow in strength.When he was ready to launch an attack over the new built capital city, Mistral City, after he changed his last name to “Momio” as a way to honor the first leader of the Grunges, , King Kurt I followed by its soldiers, abandoned the city and surrendered to Gustav Momio.
Gustav Momio agreed with King Kurt I to keep a monarchy, but now as something totally symbolic. He declared the First Grunge-French Republic, he created the Parliament, and then he declared himself President. Took away all the power from the King, created a new constitution, and he signed alliances with Pantera and with Copiosa Scotia.
Gustav Momio was reelected Prime Minister for 4 periods. After his death, The New Prime Minister, John Hildebrand, reformed the constitution, created the Confederacy of Grunge-France, in order to bring more self-government to all the different regions in the nation, and he used the new King, King Katus III, as the symbol of unity.
He started a campaign of interventionism: Invaded once again Galdania, interfered in the Neo-Wuwian civil war and harassed many nations in search of economic strength. He forced Mexico (aka The Kahaile Family), its cousin nation, to integrate to the Confederacy, and occupied the Nation of Saint Rico, a nation that declared itself independent from Ur an Ass.
Then he created the Commonwealth of Grunge-French Independent Nations, which united more than 12 nations under the symbolic figure of King Katus III. The Commonwealth (The C-GFIN) then faced the menace of a religious extremist nation, Colosi: The C-GFIN invaded that nation with the help of Lord Melkor&The Imperium and Galdania. After Colosi was conquered, Lord Melkor, Galdania and Grunge-France started to have problems to decide who should rule the nation. In the end, Grunge-France expelled the forces of Melkor and Galdania, and afterwards, decided to give Colosi to Ur an Ass as a sign of friendship, while The C-GFIN kept a small piece of Colosi named “Alatriste”.
Galdania and Lord Melkor protested this, and the C-GFIN decided to invade Galdania for a third time and this time overthrew its government and occupied the nation for some months. Ur an Ass decided no to join the C-GFIN and instead created a Confederacy itself with its new overseas territory, Colosi. Tensions started to grow between Lord Melkor&The Imperium and The C-GFIN and Ur an Ass, which caused that the region lead by Lord Melkor, Arda, started considering the idea of taking actions against the region of the C-GFIN, AoE2 Region.
Following the model of the C-GFIN, Ur an Ass&Colosi started their economic expansion, and created the Ur Trade Pact, which consisted of 90 nations plus the AoE2 Region and the C-GFIN. The C-GFIN evacuated Galdania, and started to have internal problems because that action was imposed by Grunge-France without asking the other members: the first member dropping out from the C-GFIN was Neo-Wu, then Mexico (The Kahaile Family), then Saint Rico and so did the other nations. Grunge-France tried to recover control, and send military forces against Mexico and Saint Rico, but the recently independent nations defeated the force. At the same moment, Arda declared war on the Ur Trade Pact and later, on the AOE2 Region: Grunge-France and its Prime Minister, unable to face that many problems at the same time, decided to give Ur an Ass the control of the Regional Army, and later, decided to give Ur an Ass total authority on AoE2 Region while Grunge-France was dealing with its internal problems. Prime Minister Hildebrand decided to recognize the independence of all the nations that dropped out, and continued with the C-GFIN with only 3 members from the original 12: The Vigilantes, Grunge-France and Alatriste (the small piece of land that Grunge-France kept in Colosi).
The war against Arda growth and the majority of all the nations in NS had something to do at one time with the war. Ur an Ass, substituting Grunge-France as leader of the region, committed the Regional Forces in a triple alliance: The Allied Powers-Ur Trade Pact-AoE2 Region.
When Grunge-France had stability to start leading the AoE2 Forces, the war was started to be won by the Alliance against Arda, however, the change that the Ur Trade Pact had to do to become a military alliance rather than an economic alliance, caused the bankruptcy of Ur since it absorbed all the costs, and suddenly, Ur an Ass declared a unilateral ceasefire and withdrew from the war, giving the leadership of the Ur Trade Pact to Angelus and the leadership of AoE2 Region to Grunge-France.
Grunge-France, at the end of the war, decided to focus its army in the defense of New Genoa: The defense was successful thanks to the great leadership of Admiral Treznev, though Grunge-France had the biggest cassualities in all its history, mainly caused by the forces of the Reich, allied with Arda. A general ceasefire was declared, and all the nations decided to stop the pointless war, which had millions of cassualities in both sides. Short after this, the left nations in the C-GFIN declared its independence. Prime Minister Hildebrand decided to search for new territories and decided to invade Saint Rico which, after a short unpopular war, was annexed.
After the annexation, the nations of AoE2 Region signed the Threaty of Nands, which ordered the creation of a regional unified army, besides the national army each nation had. Grunge-France was given total control of the huge Regional Army, in exchange, Grunge-France dissolved its army.
When this happened, an uprising in Isle du Nord happened: its population, highly anti-interventionist , decided to declare its independence. Its army, called “The French Loyalists” decided to assault the Grunge-French mainland, considering offensive the best defense. Minister Hildebrand, with total control of the AoE2 Regional Force, was not quick enough to make the correct decisions, and since the Grunge-French army had just been disbanded, the French Loyalists seized the mainland in an easy way.
The French Loyalists captured Mistral City and apprehended Prime Minister Hildebrand along with the Royal Family: They declared dissolved the C-GFIN and created The Second Grunge-French Republic.
Hildebrand and The Royal Family were expelled from the country and took refugee at The Vigilantes.
Elections were held, the winner was Artur Tizón. Monsieur Artur Tizón decided to reduce the local governments in favor of a strong central government, organized efficiently the AoE2 Army, and conducted in a peaceful way the international relations, though it expressed its total support to Pantera when it was at hard moments.
Grunge-France forgot about its territory in Colosi, Alatriste, which became a land full of religious fanatics –with lots of money-.
Momio, the biggest Grunge-French city, started to experiment a massive immigration of Alatristeans: in less than 3 years, they turned Momio into an extremist city who had no desire to support Grunge-France.
Grunge-France decided to change its international policy and started protecting nations being bullied by major powers: this caused problems with Iron Blood and with Drum Gods. The situation was critical, and Drum Gods, Iron Blood and Mexico (The Kahaile Family) decided to team up, in spite of their differences, to launch a shared offensive against Grunge-France. The local government of Momio, now highly anti-GrungeFrench decided to join them, and the 4 nations were ready to destroy Grunge-France.
However, The Mexican Queen, Julieta V, unaware of all this, decided to remove the Mexican president from his charge due to corruption accusations and assumed the control while new elections where held. When she was informed of the plan of Mexico joining forces against Grunge-France, decided not to participate, and sent a telegram to Grunge-France, informing about the secret plan of invasion.
With the plan uncovered and Mexico dropping out, the mission was in jeopardy. Nonetheless, Momian local authorities decided to declare its independence: with the total support of the local population, Momio expelled all the AoE2 Regional Forces in the city without a single death, since Grunge-France ordered not to shoot at Momians. When Drum Gods and Iron Blood were ready to start their attack, it was discovered that Drum Gods´plan was also to destroy Iron Blood as soon as it could. This ended with all the alliance.
The Grunge-French government, corrupted to its roots by personal interests, money and religious zeal, could not deal appropriate with the rebellion of the city of Momio: the forces of the rebel cities quickly occupied its surrounding territory, and demanded its independence.
President Artur Tizón decided to surrender: many think this was a treason, because the AoE2 Army could have easily defeated the rebels, others think this was because he knew the recent created AoE2 Army was not loyal enough to destroy a whole city –the biggest city in the whole region-. Nonetheless, Grunge-France recognised the independence of Momio, and Momio quickly created a confederation with the far away city of Alatriste: The Republic of Momio and Alatriste was born.
After that, Artur Tizon failed to be reelected and monsieur Ilan Rano was declared president. During its regime, the Grunge-French society slowly became absorbed by the culture and influence of the neighboring new republic, Momio and Alatriste, and, when new elections were being held, the uprising of General Alphonsé Gallé, an AoE2 Army General who was in charge of the XI Military AoE2 Region –Northern Grunge-France- was something very well received by the Grunge-French population.
Gral. Gallé said that the government of the Second Republic was far too weak and far too disorganised to lead the nation, and that he was tired of seeing Grunge-France losing region after region because of the weakness of the government. With his force of 200,000 soldiers –most of them were not even Grunge-French- took control of all the cities, practically without fighting. President Ilan Rano asked permission to the Parliament to send the still loyal AoE2 Forces in the country to destroy the rebels, but the Parliament did not authorized that arguing that the solution was to negotiate… A few weeks later, Gral. Gallé assaulted the capital, Mistral City, the only place were he faced resistance from the local police department. Gral. Gallé was highly popular among the population, which assured its triumph. He ordered the burning of the Parliament –with parliamentarians in it- and ordered the execution of Presiden Ilan Rano. A new regime was born.
Gral. Alphonsé Gallé was born in Momio and supported the independence of Momio and Alatriste, against Grunge-France. Being a Momian, he created a new constitution and new politics to make Grunge-France very similar to Momio and Alatriste, and, in the end, he managed to reunite the two nations: Momio rejoined Grunge-France, though all Grunge-France was property of the Momian culture and above all, the Momian money. Alatriste, the other city, was considered “not important” and was rejected to join Grunge-France.
Gral. Alphonsé Gallé declared the “Humanist Republic of Grunge-France”, which bears the premise of “Human life is the supreme good in the universe”. He outlawed Death Penality in the Civil Justice, and declared all other froms of life “Properties” of the Humanity. He refused to restablish the legistlative power, and called off the elections. He became dictator. Several protests arised, specially in Isle du Nord, but they were brutally quelled.
Volstik declared its independence from Galdania and so did Zefyrz, these new nations were quickly recognized by Grunge-France, and military supported by Gral. Gallé. In the brink of another war with Galdania, due to his possible invasion of Volstik, Grunge-France offered the Volstikian people to evacuate their country: 500,000 Volstikians accepted, and left their homeland to move to Grunge-France. Short after, Galdania finally recognized the independence of Volstik and Zefyrz.
The 500,000 Volstikian immigrants were located at the south of Grunge-France, near the border of Ur an Ass, and they started to found their cities and their local government. When Ur an Ass´government fell, victim of an huge deficit and a neverending political crisis, Grunge-France decided to annex the entire territory of Ur an Ass, which was 1.2 times bigger than Grunge-France itself and with the same population. However, the population revolted, and Grunge-France decided to give a special status to Ur an Ass: the status of Province, which gave everything to the Urs but the right to establish their own military or to be recognized as an independent nation.
Grunge-France started to have problems with the Volstikian community in the country: Grunge-France was taxing all the Volstikians, but the money was being poured in other regions, and the Volstikians and their new cities were suffering a lack of money, which caused the Volstikians to refuse paying more taxes.
Gral. Gallé ordered to boicot their water supplies and their electricity, which caused 1,090 deaths. The Volstikians declared their independence, and started a guerilla fight against the AOE2 Regional Soldiers that were in their territory. The leader of the Volstikians, “President” Andrés Vino, called for the support of the international community, which provided with him with a constant flow of weapons and new soldiers.
Grunge-France and its ally against the so called “New Volstikians”, New Vladivostok, conducted an effective war against the rebels, which had its climax when Grunge-France ordered a ruthless bomb of Nietzsche City, a rebel city. With more than 6000 civilian cassualities, Grunge-France surrounded the damaged city with the AoE2 Army.
However, in the jungles of the south of Grunge-France, the Rebel Forces achieved a great victory: 120,000 rebels resisted the Grunge-French offensive of 500,000 AoE2 Soldiers plus Tank support, and finally, after a rebel counter offensive, the AoE2 Army decided to withdraw from the jungle.
With all these situations, Grunge-France decided to declare a ceasefire and to talk with the rebels, with the condition of surrendering Nietzsche City. The New Volstikian rebels accepted and in a long, secret meeting, Gral. Gallé agreed with President Vino the independence of New Volstik. In exchange, New Volstik was going to support Grunge-France against the other rebels in Isle du Nord, the ancient “French Loyalists” that were against the dictatorial government of President Gallé, and New Volstik promised to rejoin Grunge-France as soon as Grunge-France changed its type of government from centralism to federalism.
Considered a betrayal, this agreement was the darkest hour of President Gallé. It´s finest hour however, came with the sing of the “GF-DT Friendship Agreement”, which ended the old problems between Dark Terror and his allies and Grunge-France and his allies, and even created an economic alliance between Grunge-France and Dark Terror. The Agreement also included a non-agression pact. At the age of 80, after 25 years of dictatorship, President Gallé passed away and the President of the only legal party, the “Humanist Party”, assumed the control. The new president was Monsieur Julius Randall.
He made changes to the constitution to abolish the centralist government and create a federation that was going to lessen the turmoil of the diverse populations: As soon as he did this, New Volstik re-joined, and the rebels in Isle du Nord reduced their activity.

Once the island was fully conquered and the Grunges and Askits were defeated, problems appeared in the Spanish-French alliance, and in an opportunistic tactic, France seized the entire island for itself.
In 1789, in the cenit of the French Revolution, the French governor of the territory, Ernest Mistral, declared the island totally independent from any foreign power and that the entire island should govern itself, and declared war to France. Afterwards, Mistral decided to restablish the old rule of the Grunge Royal Family, and declared Kurt I King of the Island of Ur. After this, the southern part of the island, that had no Grunge but Askit heritage revolted against this decision, and eventually, managed to declare its independence, and created the Republic of Ur an Ass, in the south of Ur Island.
After losing half of the territory of the kingdom to the Republic of Ur an Ass, King Kurt I declared the official Independence of the Kingdom of Grunge-France, with Ernest Mistral as its Prime Minister.
After the secession of the Ur island, both Grunge-France and Ur an Ass integrated to the community of the AOE2 Region, which was in a civil war: Many nations revolted against the dictatorial rule of the Delegate nation, Grundaddy. King Kurt I decided to send a small, without-training Grunge-French army to the front, lead by its prime minister Mistral, to support the nations against Grundaddy. Ur decided to support Grundaddy, and launched offensives against the Grunge-French territory.
When the war ended, the nation of Grundaddy and its allies were defeated and forced to endorse a new delegate. The Allied Forces, lead by the nation of Kham, decided that Grunge-France would make a good delegate, and declared Ernest Mistral new delegate of the Region.
That was the last time an AoE2 Nation attacked another AoE2 Nation. Ur signed several treaties with Grunge-France to assure peace and friendship, and the whole region started an ambitious program of a shared military estructure.
The entire nation then launched itself against the threat of Communism: Galdania, a Communist nation, was invaded by the Grunge-French army with the support of a few other nations, who faced a significant international opposition lead by The Bisons (aka Iron Blood) Galdania itself and Neo-Wu. Nonetheless, Galdania surrendered and was forced to disarm.
Short after this, A civil uprising started to cause significant turmoil in Grunge-France: a soldier called Gustav Erkos started to make campaigns against the supremacy of the French inhabitants over the native Grunges, and claimed that even if the king was Grunge, it was just a puppet of the French inhabitants lead by Mistral. The problem increased and Gustav Erkos raised a civil army which used to take some minor towns, and King Kurt sent once again Prime minister Mistral to the frontline to take back the towns. However, due to his advanced age, Mistral died, causing even more chaos in the society, something that helped Gustav Erkos to grow in strength.When he was ready to launch an attack over the new built capital city, Mistral City, after he changed his last name to “Momio” as a way to honor the first leader of the Grunges, , King Kurt I followed by its soldiers, abandoned the city and surrendered to Gustav Momio.
Gustav Momio agreed with King Kurt I to keep a monarchy, but now as something totally symbolic. He declared the First Grunge-French Republic, he created the Parliament, and then he declared himself President. Took away all the power from the King, created a new constitution, and he signed alliances with Pantera and with Copiosa Scotia.
Gustav Momio was reelected Prime Minister for 4 periods. After his death, The New Prime Minister, John Hildebrand, reformed the constitution, created the Confederacy of Grunge-France, in order to bring more self-government to all the different regions in the nation, and he used the new King, King Katus III, as the symbol of unity.
He started a campaign of interventionism: Invaded once again Galdania, interfered in the Neo-Wuwian civil war and harassed many nations in search of economic strength. He forced Mexico (aka The Kahaile Family), its cousin nation, to integrate to the Confederacy, and occupied the Nation of Saint Rico, a nation that declared itself independent from Ur an Ass.
Then he created the Commonwealth of Grunge-French Independent Nations, which united more than 12 nations under the symbolic figure of King Katus III. The Commonwealth (The C-GFIN) then faced the menace of a religious extremist nation, Colosi: The C-GFIN invaded that nation with the help of Lord Melkor&The Imperium and Galdania. After Colosi was conquered, Lord Melkor, Galdania and Grunge-France started to have problems to decide who should rule the nation. In the end, Grunge-France expelled the forces of Melkor and Galdania, and afterwards, decided to give Colosi to Ur an Ass as a sign of friendship, while The C-GFIN kept a small piece of Colosi named “Alatriste”.
Galdania and Lord Melkor protested this, and the C-GFIN decided to invade Galdania for a third time and this time overthrew its government and occupied the nation for some months. Ur an Ass decided no to join the C-GFIN and instead created a Confederacy itself with its new overseas territory, Colosi. Tensions started to grow between Lord Melkor&The Imperium and The C-GFIN and Ur an Ass, which caused that the region lead by Lord Melkor, Arda, started considering the idea of taking actions against the region of the C-GFIN, AoE2 Region.
Following the model of the C-GFIN, Ur an Ass&Colosi started their economic expansion, and created the Ur Trade Pact, which consisted of 90 nations plus the AoE2 Region and the C-GFIN. The C-GFIN evacuated Galdania, and started to have internal problems because that action was imposed by Grunge-France without asking the other members: the first member dropping out from the C-GFIN was Neo-Wu, then Mexico (The Kahaile Family), then Saint Rico and so did the other nations. Grunge-France tried to recover control, and send military forces against Mexico and Saint Rico, but the recently independent nations defeated the force. At the same moment, Arda declared war on the Ur Trade Pact and later, on the AOE2 Region: Grunge-France and its Prime Minister, unable to face that many problems at the same time, decided to give Ur an Ass the control of the Regional Army, and later, decided to give Ur an Ass total authority on AoE2 Region while Grunge-France was dealing with its internal problems. Prime Minister Hildebrand decided to recognize the independence of all the nations that dropped out, and continued with the C-GFIN with only 3 members from the original 12: The Vigilantes, Grunge-France and Alatriste (the small piece of land that Grunge-France kept in Colosi).
The war against Arda growth and the majority of all the nations in NS had something to do at one time with the war. Ur an Ass, substituting Grunge-France as leader of the region, committed the Regional Forces in a triple alliance: The Allied Powers-Ur Trade Pact-AoE2 Region.
When Grunge-France had stability to start leading the AoE2 Forces, the war was started to be won by the Alliance against Arda, however, the change that the Ur Trade Pact had to do to become a military alliance rather than an economic alliance, caused the bankruptcy of Ur since it absorbed all the costs, and suddenly, Ur an Ass declared a unilateral ceasefire and withdrew from the war, giving the leadership of the Ur Trade Pact to Angelus and the leadership of AoE2 Region to Grunge-France.
Grunge-France, at the end of the war, decided to focus its army in the defense of New Genoa: The defense was successful thanks to the great leadership of Admiral Treznev, though Grunge-France had the biggest cassualities in all its history, mainly caused by the forces of the Reich, allied with Arda. A general ceasefire was declared, and all the nations decided to stop the pointless war, which had millions of cassualities in both sides. Short after this, the left nations in the C-GFIN declared its independence. Prime Minister Hildebrand decided to search for new territories and decided to invade Saint Rico which, after a short unpopular war, was annexed.
After the annexation, the nations of AoE2 Region signed the Threaty of Nands, which ordered the creation of a regional unified army, besides the national army each nation had. Grunge-France was given total control of the huge Regional Army, in exchange, Grunge-France dissolved its army.
When this happened, an uprising in Isle du Nord happened: its population, highly anti-interventionist , decided to declare its independence. Its army, called “The French Loyalists” decided to assault the Grunge-French mainland, considering offensive the best defense. Minister Hildebrand, with total control of the AoE2 Regional Force, was not quick enough to make the correct decisions, and since the Grunge-French army had just been disbanded, the French Loyalists seized the mainland in an easy way.
The French Loyalists captured Mistral City and apprehended Prime Minister Hildebrand along with the Royal Family: They declared dissolved the C-GFIN and created The Second Grunge-French Republic.
Hildebrand and The Royal Family were expelled from the country and took refugee at The Vigilantes.
Elections were held, the winner was Artur Tizón. Monsieur Artur Tizón decided to reduce the local governments in favor of a strong central government, organized efficiently the AoE2 Army, and conducted in a peaceful way the international relations, though it expressed its total support to Pantera when it was at hard moments.
Grunge-France forgot about its territory in Colosi, Alatriste, which became a land full of religious fanatics –with lots of money-.
Momio, the biggest Grunge-French city, started to experiment a massive immigration of Alatristeans: in less than 3 years, they turned Momio into an extremist city who had no desire to support Grunge-France.
Grunge-France decided to change its international policy and started protecting nations being bullied by major powers: this caused problems with Iron Blood and with Drum Gods. The situation was critical, and Drum Gods, Iron Blood and Mexico (The Kahaile Family) decided to team up, in spite of their differences, to launch a shared offensive against Grunge-France. The local government of Momio, now highly anti-GrungeFrench decided to join them, and the 4 nations were ready to destroy Grunge-France.
However, The Mexican Queen, Julieta V, unaware of all this, decided to remove the Mexican president from his charge due to corruption accusations and assumed the control while new elections where held. When she was informed of the plan of Mexico joining forces against Grunge-France, decided not to participate, and sent a telegram to Grunge-France, informing about the secret plan of invasion.
With the plan uncovered and Mexico dropping out, the mission was in jeopardy. Nonetheless, Momian local authorities decided to declare its independence: with the total support of the local population, Momio expelled all the AoE2 Regional Forces in the city without a single death, since Grunge-France ordered not to shoot at Momians. When Drum Gods and Iron Blood were ready to start their attack, it was discovered that Drum Gods´plan was also to destroy Iron Blood as soon as it could. This ended with all the alliance.
The Grunge-French government, corrupted to its roots by personal interests, money and religious zeal, could not deal appropriate with the rebellion of the city of Momio: the forces of the rebel cities quickly occupied its surrounding territory, and demanded its independence.
President Artur Tizón decided to surrender: many think this was a treason, because the AoE2 Army could have easily defeated the rebels, others think this was because he knew the recent created AoE2 Army was not loyal enough to destroy a whole city –the biggest city in the whole region-. Nonetheless, Grunge-France recognised the independence of Momio, and Momio quickly created a confederation with the far away city of Alatriste: The Republic of Momio and Alatriste was born.
After that, Artur Tizon failed to be reelected and monsieur Ilan Rano was declared president. During its regime, the Grunge-French society slowly became absorbed by the culture and influence of the neighboring new republic, Momio and Alatriste, and, when new elections were being held, the uprising of General Alphonsé Gallé, an AoE2 Army General who was in charge of the XI Military AoE2 Region –Northern Grunge-France- was something very well received by the Grunge-French population.
Gral. Gallé said that the government of the Second Republic was far too weak and far too disorganised to lead the nation, and that he was tired of seeing Grunge-France losing region after region because of the weakness of the government. With his force of 200,000 soldiers –most of them were not even Grunge-French- took control of all the cities, practically without fighting. President Ilan Rano asked permission to the Parliament to send the still loyal AoE2 Forces in the country to destroy the rebels, but the Parliament did not authorized that arguing that the solution was to negotiate… A few weeks later, Gral. Gallé assaulted the capital, Mistral City, the only place were he faced resistance from the local police department. Gral. Gallé was highly popular among the population, which assured its triumph. He ordered the burning of the Parliament –with parliamentarians in it- and ordered the execution of Presiden Ilan Rano. A new regime was born.
Gral. Alphonsé Gallé was born in Momio and supported the independence of Momio and Alatriste, against Grunge-France. Being a Momian, he created a new constitution and new politics to make Grunge-France very similar to Momio and Alatriste, and, in the end, he managed to reunite the two nations: Momio rejoined Grunge-France, though all Grunge-France was property of the Momian culture and above all, the Momian money. Alatriste, the other city, was considered “not important” and was rejected to join Grunge-France.
Gral. Alphonsé Gallé declared the “Humanist Republic of Grunge-France”, which bears the premise of “Human life is the supreme good in the universe”. He outlawed Death Penality in the Civil Justice, and declared all other froms of life “Properties” of the Humanity. He refused to restablish the legistlative power, and called off the elections. He became dictator. Several protests arised, specially in Isle du Nord, but they were brutally quelled.
Volstik declared its independence from Galdania and so did Zefyrz, these new nations were quickly recognized by Grunge-France, and military supported by Gral. Gallé. In the brink of another war with Galdania, due to his possible invasion of Volstik, Grunge-France offered the Volstikian people to evacuate their country: 500,000 Volstikians accepted, and left their homeland to move to Grunge-France. Short after, Galdania finally recognized the independence of Volstik and Zefyrz.
The 500,000 Volstikian immigrants were located at the south of Grunge-France, near the border of Ur an Ass, and they started to found their cities and their local government. When Ur an Ass´government fell, victim of an huge deficit and a neverending political crisis, Grunge-France decided to annex the entire territory of Ur an Ass, which was 1.2 times bigger than Grunge-France itself and with the same population. However, the population revolted, and Grunge-France decided to give a special status to Ur an Ass: the status of Province, which gave everything to the Urs but the right to establish their own military or to be recognized as an independent nation.
Grunge-France started to have problems with the Volstikian community in the country: Grunge-France was taxing all the Volstikians, but the money was being poured in other regions, and the Volstikians and their new cities were suffering a lack of money, which caused the Volstikians to refuse paying more taxes.
Gral. Gallé ordered to boicot their water supplies and their electricity, which caused 1,090 deaths. The Volstikians declared their independence, and started a guerilla fight against the AOE2 Regional Soldiers that were in their territory. The leader of the Volstikians, “President” Andrés Vino, called for the support of the international community, which provided with him with a constant flow of weapons and new soldiers.
Grunge-France and its ally against the so called “New Volstikians”, New Vladivostok, conducted an effective war against the rebels, which had its climax when Grunge-France ordered a ruthless bomb of Nietzsche City, a rebel city. With more than 6000 civilian cassualities, Grunge-France surrounded the damaged city with the AoE2 Army.
However, in the jungles of the south of Grunge-France, the Rebel Forces achieved a great victory: 120,000 rebels resisted the Grunge-French offensive of 500,000 AoE2 Soldiers plus Tank support, and finally, after a rebel counter offensive, the AoE2 Army decided to withdraw from the jungle.
With all these situations, Grunge-France decided to declare a ceasefire and to talk with the rebels, with the condition of surrendering Nietzsche City. The New Volstikian rebels accepted and in a long, secret meeting, Gral. Gallé agreed with President Vino the independence of New Volstik. In exchange, New Volstik was going to support Grunge-France against the other rebels in Isle du Nord, the ancient “French Loyalists” that were against the dictatorial government of President Gallé, and New Volstik promised to rejoin Grunge-France as soon as Grunge-France changed its type of government from centralism to federalism.
Considered a betrayal, this agreement was the darkest hour of President Gallé. It´s finest hour however, came with the sing of the “GF-DT Friendship Agreement”, which ended the old problems between Dark Terror and his allies and Grunge-France and his allies, and even created an economic alliance between Grunge-France and Dark Terror. The Agreement also included a non-agression pact. At the age of 80, after 25 years of dictatorship, President Gallé passed away and the President of the only legal party, the “Humanist Party”, assumed the control. The new president was Monsieur Julius Randall.
He made changes to the constitution to abolish the centralist government and create a federation that was going to lessen the turmoil of the diverse populations: As soon as he did this, New Volstik re-joined, and the rebels in Isle du Nord reduced their activity.
President Julius Randall is the current president.
