Ok guys, I see the overwhelming amount of 'already claimed' in the 'RL Nation Claims' thread, so I figured that we need to create another Earth, for those people that haven't had a chance to get one in that thread. Here you post your nation claims in Earth II. Some criteria:
-You can't have anything in 'Earth 2' if you own anything in 'Earth 1' (thats the RL Nation Claims thread).
-Of course, you can't claim something that has already been taken in this thread. If it was claimed in the RL Nation Claims thread, thats ok.
Please check the list below before making a claim, to be sure that your claim hasn't already been taken. Also, please telegram me and questions/comments/complaints, DO NOT post them here. Thank you.

You DO NOT necessarily need verification (a thread that says you took what you claim). You will have to, however, if your claim is unnaturally large or unbelievable. Even then, if I see the link and decide that it is not realistically RPed or defended, you will NOT recieve those nations. LISTEN UP: I will NOT ask you for a link, if I see your claim is too large. That will be your responsibility. If in doubt, post a link. If I see 'I claim Europe and Russia', and there is no link, I will NOT place your claim on the list, and I will say nothing about it. Don't come back whining to me that you didn't get your territory- its your responsibility to back up your claims.

Very true. I don't get why people get so uppity about claims when there's about 5 Iraqs, 3 or 4 Israels and/or Palestines, Several overlapping portions of Russia, lots of different UKs... Hell, I share Uzbekistan claim with Guerrillistan back on 'Earth I', and I think Daylam had another version of it, too.

It's pretty easy to have overlapping claims provided you agree to not RP over them together and it's all settled peacefully, so I don't get the issue people have with multiple claims. It's just a game, guys! ;)

If it isn't too much, could I also claim Yugoslavia and Greece? My nation is big enough (look at my population)

Although I acknowledge that you are much larger than me, don't let my post count fool you - my nation recently broke through 750 million... I didn't mean it in a threatening sense, however - I meant it in the sense that I thought that you would act like your name and be civil about allowing me to keep the very small lands that I have claimed for my nation - lands that can barely support my people - at least until I RP such a point at which I leave those islands, which should come within the upcoming weeks...

OOC: Meh. I'll stick with the claims. Marimaia's highly nationalistic, militarily strong and willing to fight to the death.

Alternatively, we could have an agreement. Since Marimaia and Hogsweat have never actually encountered each other, we could arrange it so that I own whatever claim I receive in the threads I post in, the area can be open for you in your threads, and if we wind up roleplaying in the same thread then we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

It's pretty much the same as the regular borders, but an area of Kyrgyzstan south-west of the Kara-Daryya river is given over to Tajikistan, a portion of far-western Uzbekistan becomes Kazakhstani territory, and the southernmost area of central Kazakhstan (the area containing the city of Shymkent) becomes part of Uzbekistan.

The pic cuts off a few areas of southern Turkmenistan and eastern Kyrgystan, but it's only intended to show the changed borders - if anyone's got any objections I'll rethink it.

I have been playing Nationstates for a long while now, maybe 2 or 3 years, but I eventually get idle because I find a really good online video game, and my nation gets deleted. My first nation was Zimbalar, which would be about 3 years old, Ithraxo was my second which would be about 1 and a half years old, and I just started playing again about a week ago.

Well the areas I've claimed are tiny compared to the great tracts of land some people have got hold of... but I'm not going to claim much more for a while - I'd like a few more neighbours, heh.

I've got half an eye on Ecuador, too, to whoever mentioned South America, and Scoyle, if you're still about, how much would you be willing to sell just the Los Angeles area of southern California to us for? We fancy a boost to our movie industry...

RL claims make sense... if there are many different 'earths' like this - it gives people a semi-tangible (most people will have a general idea of what the world map looks like as a whole) game to play - with the amount of players NS has it would be totally unfeasible to have one 'Earth' with RL claims to make on, and for new players all the large areas will be filled with global superpowers who could call upon vast armies to squash any invasion.

With more than one 'Earth', a select group of players (we've got nations of all ages with claims here, all but the truly inexperienced) can play a more tactical game of politics based on real-life borders instead of wholly imaginary countries - this makes it a lot easier for people to invade and build up empires as everyone knows what the territories look like and everyone knows who their neighbours are - the non-Earth-based NS can't hope to be that organised with the amount of different regions and the number of nations without maps - a few of the regions are very well organised like this, but for new people and those who want to get involved in a tighter, more close-knit game where the rewards are based on something you know instead of figments of somebody else's imagination, a system of lots of different 'Earth' groups is a nicer system.

It lets people play two different games - the full, imaginary-country NS game with everyone else in the community, and a more close-knit closed (once everything's taken) and more tactical game. It all comes down to personal preference - personally I'm going to take part in both sides, but the multi-Earth concept will make for a more clean-cut gaming experience.
