After news of the surrendering of the Firebase Fabus reached the CM public, through non-CM owned media, approximately 100 million people took to the streets and what started as peaceful protests eventually turned into full scale riots after police fired into crowds in over 2 dozen cities.

The riots quickly began to grow beyond the ability of the police to handle them. 18 army divisions were ordered to move into Jackson City, and a total of 100 other divisions were ordered into 24 other cities. But not a single division moved. Spokesmen for the army, General Henry Bancroft declared, "The army has been dealt the greatest betrayal possible in that our soldiers were sent to die in a war that was not ours and they were left to die. Not enough was done to save them. Our forces were stabbed in the back."

The premier's jackson city palace, which he was not at, was overrun by 100,000 protestors armed with clubs and bats who killed all of the 3,000 Republican Guard soldiers guarding it. (Occ- you may recall this is the same palace where the coal miners were shot when they marched in front of it)

All throughout CM the regular army has refused to respond to orders from the CM Defense Ministry and High command to mobilize and enter into the cities. So news orders have been issued confining all Regular army units to their bases.

The Republican Guard and the Popular Army were ordered to secure all Regular Army bases and secure all chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons in the possession of the regular army. Also the Republican Guard has been ordered to move into the cities most affected by the riots and crush them.

Thus far not a single Republican Guard unit has disobeyed. All of the Republican Guard Internal Security Divisions, the RG mechanized divisions, and the RG armored divisions that were ordered into the cities have entered them and started pouring massive amounts of fire into the crowds that refused to disperse and return home.

Images were broadcast around the world of approximately 400,000 protestors in "Fabus Square" in Jackson City, they had barricaded the square with hastily gathered material, vehicles, and city buses.

500 Republican Guard tanks and 2,250 BMP-3s supported by 18,000 Panzer Grenadiers plowed into the Square. The tanks just smashed through the barricades, they were followed by the BMPs and the soldiers, guns were blazing. There was a picture shown around the world, of a man standing in front of a BMP just before it plowed him over.

A state of emergency has been declared all throughout CM and a general curfew has been ordered.

The WKM Paramilitary units have also been called out to help suppress what the CM government has officially called, "Minor urban disturbances and civil strife". About 80% of the 20 million WKM organized into the paramilitary units have done as ordered.

General Bancroft has declared that, "Tyranny and oppression can no longer hold back the growing movement for freedom. I believe we are witnessing the dying days of the Fabus Regime. They have thrown around the soldiers of the army like we're machines that can be replaced. A tank is a machine that can be replaced, the crew are people that have familes, they are just like you and I. The crew can never be replaced. We have had enough of being treated like machines."

2 Republican Guard Armored Divisions and 3 Regular Army Armored Divisions were reported to be fighting outside of Jackson City. Initial reports state that the RG units were doing far better because the air force flew missions in support of them.

The naval forces that were transporting the regular army units to Ivory Coast until they were ordered recalled, have been ordered not to bring any regular army units back to Mississippi.

The navy has been ordered to sink the troop ships should the approximately 50 divisions in troop ships about 200 miles off the coast of Florida, attempt to land in Mississippi.

Occ- We should be okay for now.

Republican Guard units in Neshoba County, where the premier is, successfully disarmed everybody in the Regular Army.

The Special Republican Guard Division has stepped up security around the Premier's "Stalingrad" residence.

The 21 Republican Guard Divisions and 20 Popular Army Divisions in Tennessee have all been ordered to disarm or at the least prevent the approximately 130 Regular Army divisions from entering Northern Mississippi.

The Republican Guard Units have also been ordered to deploy at least 1 company to each airport or airfield to prevent Parachute units or airmobile units returning from Ivory Coast from landing planes.

All Parachute and Airmobile Divisions on their way to Mississippi from the Ivory Coast have been ordered to alter course and land in Libya or Mississippian Egypt.

Images were broadcast around the world of an RG T-98 firing at and destroying a Regular Army T-98. The CM government referred to the incident as "Intense military training."

Reports across CM were that the entire Republican Guard and Republican Guard Internal Security Army, along with the WKM paramilitaries, the Popular Army, and the Air Force, were engaged against the Regular Army.

All of the commanders of the CM Regular Army units left in Libya and Mississippian Egypt as garrisons were debating whether they should begin to board ships and prepare to sail through Gibraltar and on to Mississippi.

If they were to leave then the only forces in Libya and ME would be the White colonial forces.

Put the Premier was already working on a solution behind the scenes. Most of the generals didn't really care for Bancroft and were only going along with him because they thought it would improve their position. There were approximately 3,000 regular army generals backing Bancroft or at the least remaining neutral. The Premier intended to buy them off, most of them were notorious for accepting bribes for various reasons.

Bancroft had been declared a traitor and a bounty placed on his head.

Fabus knew it was only a matter of time before Bancroft would be dead. Then he could shift the blame for the Firebase defeat unto Bancrofts shoulders. Fabus realized most of the people were probably just caught up in the riots or were enraged by excessive and heavy-handed police response.

It would all work itself out.

There would probably have been a full-scale civil war, but the Republican Guard, Popular Army, and the WKM paramilitaries moved too quickly for the army and they were able to get large units onto each army base and essentially disarm the arm units.

There were still the many regular army divisions that be been stationed in Libya and Mississippian Egypt to defend the colonists. But surely they wouldn't abandon the colonists to go fight a civil war. Would they?

The High command had issued orders to all Colonial army units to not allow regular army units to leave Libya or Misissippian Egypt. They were ordered to fire on any attempting to leave.

All regular army units in Libya and ME were ordered confined to base.

OOC: Any inkling as to why he populace and Regular Army is rebelling?

Occ- The people started out just peacefully protesting the defeat at firebase fabus, and they wanted the government to do everything it could to get the prisoners back safely and quickly. As a general rule, mass assembly isn't allowed in CM. So the police fired on the crowds, the crowds surged forward, and overran a lot of police units, killing hundreds of police. The army was ordered to move into the cities to crush the people. But the army felt betrayed because it was regular army units defeated at Firebase Fabus. So the Republican Guard and Popular Army were ordered to disarm the army and then crush the riots. They are thus far obeying all orders.

Outside of Jackson City, the 2 RG Armored Divisions were joined by 1 RG Mechanized Division and 1 RG Internal Security Division. But the 3 Army Armored Divisions were joined by 12 Infantry Divisions and 2 BMP Mechanized Divisions.

The army divisions refused to return their bases and they refused to disarm.

The RG knew that this meant the die had been cast.

The RG commander ordered his SPA to "Disperse those rebels."

The RG SPA units and towed howitzers let loose a murderous barrage that caught the army units totally by surprise. They didn't think the RG would actually try to kill them like that. The RG was using not only conventional weapons but also VX and Sarin nerve gas.

The army units outside the city began to die in droves. Me grabbing their chests. Then the spasms, the dance of death. Then silence.

The RG commander looked out through his tanks viewing system, there were at least 30,000 dead army soldiers. Well, any chance for reconciliation was probably shattered. They had crossed the Rubicon.

But then again, most of the generals taking part in this maneuvering didn't intend it to be a civil war, they just wanted to use the threat of a coup to gain influence and money from the Premier. The Premier decided to buy them off, of the 3,000 or so generals threatening a coup, each got about 10 million dollars. Most of the generals took their money and began ordering their units to stand down. But the premier should have paid more attention to the units that didn't stand down. Every single parachute general refused to stand down. They demanded a full inquiry into why their brethren died in Hogsweat.

General Bancroft found his support rapidly evaporating. The army units in Libya, Mississippian Egypt, and Tennessee, now showed no signs of readying to rally to his support.

Bancroft sat in his office and waited, he knew what was coming. He had been hearing tanks, artillery, and light arms going off all-around him for the last few hours. He knew his brigade would be overrun by the 4 divisions of RG that were surrounding them. Suddenly everything got quiet, all he could hear was tanks moving, there was no more firing.

Bancroft just sat in his office as the door was blown off, he didn't flinch or move. 4 RG soldiers moved in and dragged him from his chair, they ripped his rank insignia from his uniform and threw it at him, telling him, "You are hereby stripped of your rank, title, and are placed under arrest for high treason, subversion, terrorism, and sedition."

He knew what his fate would be, traitors were hanged in Mississippi. He wouldn't even get the firing squad which is what any honorable military man would want.

Most of the army units just forgot the idea of a coup or civil war. There were RG and Popular Army units stationed at every army base. Of the Regular Army units in Mississippi 95% of them had been disarmed and were confined to their bases. The coup was rapidly fizzling.

The RG would gain increased prestige and influence with the Premier, at the expense of the Regular Army. The RG had been lobbying to have their own air force, to be called "Republican Guard Air Corp", and now there was a good chance they would get it. They had also wanted to make a "Republican Guard High Seas Fleet".

Captain Nelson told the Premier, "The army is standing down. You've won again sir."

The Premier replied, "No, we've not won anything. We can no longer trust the army, at least not for a while. And they will resent us for a while. All we've done is dodged the bullet, our ears will be ringing for a while though."

General Bancroft was given a 4 hour trial, but he was not allowed to conduct a defense, he was not given an attorney, and the 4 hours consisted of either the prosecution or the judge yelling at him and denouncing him as a "Rabid traitor", the prosecutor even suggested that Bancroft was a race-mixer.

He was sentenced to be shot, silence hung over the courtroom. Broken only when he jumped up screamed, "This is a kangaroo court", and charged at the judge. He was beaten down with a flurry of blows from the guards clubs. They dragged him outside where he was promptly put against the wall, a unit of soldiers from the RG Division, "Legion de Espana" provided the firing squad. "Fuego!" and the crack of rifles echoed throughout the courtyard of the department of military justice compound.

General Bancroft was buried face down in a grave in "Traitors Row", the graves are arranged such that the sun will never rise or set over them.

Occ- What implications does all this have? The CM Regular Army and the Republican Guard will begin vigorously competing to gain the Premier's favor. The RG wants to be doubled in size, the Regular Army wants to have the RG disbanded because they are jealous of the Guard's high status in the Premier's eyes. Also CM will be retreating from the world stage for a while until the army's loyalty can be assured.

As promised, ITD is willing to deliver 12,000 immediate forces within the next 12 hours. After another 24 hours we should be able to provide at least 38,000 other soldiers. All will be in riot control gear, with crowd dispersing gas and other non-lethal measures to reduce civilian casualties. They will be wearing amorphous armour and will be armed with our standard arsenal for ITDGF forces, most especially the XM8 assault rifle. Upon full deployment they will split into three divisions. We shall begin deployment upon request.

1) I didn't say you could join this RP.

2) If any of your soldiers attempt to enter into Mississippian controlled territory, the planes will be shot from the sky, the ships sent to the bottom. And the troops mowed down.

3) This is a Mississippian problem and it will be dealt with in Mississippian fashion.

4) If you want to get involved, ask to do so, and ask to do a role that I cannot do myself. I can easily RP myself crushing them, I don't need help to crush them. Implying I need help in that regard is an insult to my armed forces.

Occ- Mississippian fashion usually equals Chemical Weapons.

With the head of the possible coup dead, and the regular army brought under control by the RG and popular army, the only real problem was if the people continued to protest. But at least for now, things were quiet.

The generals that had been considering joining Bancroft had all been bought off with large amounts of cash, so they were happy. Everything was going back to normal, well hopefully.
