Minister for Trade & Finance Datin Sofea Jane announced the passing of the Indigenous Coffee Protection Act into law which bans multinational coffee conglomerates such as Starbucks and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf from operating within His Glorious Nation's borders. The Act has been passed in an effort to protect the indigenous coffeehouse industry whose traditional fare of ginger-laced tea (Teh Halia) has always been a staple of the state's citizens.
"We urge other nations to do the same. We must free ourselves from the bondage of overpriced bad coffee and tea mixes and also the potentially subversive and destructive class culture that they bring in," the Honourable Datin Sofea Jane said.
