Parthia invades Sao Tome and Principe.

The Parthian fleet grew closer to the tiny islands of Sao Tome e Principe. transports with flat decks covered by Blackhawks and Pave-Lows swarmed with Immortals boarding the helicopters for transport. Carriers prepared JSFs and F-18s for flight then launched them off their catapaults.

10:00PM- Sao Tome

Thirty JSFs flew towards the capital city of the Island each armed with either a HARM or a smart bomb. A few aircraft armed with HARMs turned towards the airport and unleashed a barrage of HARMs at the radar there. Capt. Shahbahraz Taheri and his two escorts headed for the island's main power plant. He adjusted his course and then dropped the smart bomb cutting power to the island and opening the way for invasion.

11:30 PM- Sao Tome

Pave Low and blackhawk helicopters full of men flew from the Persian fleet towards the Island of Sao Tome. Over 5000 Immortals were being used to secure this tiny Island and soon 50 M1 tanks would make them the master of it.

Local forces on the island were well prepared for an invasion. Parthian carrier mobilizations hadn't gone unnoticed, rather large and bloody obvious as they are. Reinforcements had been on the island for some time, the UWA prescence having been ramped up to 2000 soldiers at the first hint of Parthian aggression. Having little airforce to speak of, the Federation didn't want to risk its few aircraft and qualified pilots on a losing engagement. Instead, the Parthian pilots faced a different, nasty surprise: Kanabian handheld SAM systems, and French surplus IR guided Mistral SAMs (half of the UWA being a former French colony).

UWA troops were working with the locals to construct formidable defenses for a seaborn launch, but were prepared with their handheld SAM systems for a helicopter drop as well. Unfortunately most of the ground forces were concentrated at Sao Tome, the smaller island only having a small battallion available for defense.

Two blackhawks touched down in the downtown of Sao Tome, troops armed with XM-8s (note that we use the 20 inch barrel version) poured out as miniguns tore into random buildings' windows to ensure that snipers were not present. More followed filling the central city with 500 armed troops.

In the ports several Pave-Lows full of men touched down sending more heavily armed immortals into battle. AH-64 Apaches stood close to make sure that any 'military' resistance was destroyed in seconds.

You were deleted, doesn't that mean you lost your foreign claims?

UWA tried to claim them as his own, Parthia is stopping it.

A trio of blackhawk helicopters headed into the central city full of 12 men each. They had so far met no resistance but soon that changed. A shoulder launched SAM streaked out of a building winow and impacted into one of the blackhawks. "Command we have a hot LZ, I repeat LZ is hot."

3 JSFs armed with napalm soon were headed towards the non-parthian held areas.

The JSFs unleashed six napalm bombs in areas around the LZ not held by Parthians troops. The central city burned as the helicopters that has been forced to remain landed in the LZ took off.

Principe-
One Regiment of Immortals (5000 Troops and 60 Tanks) had been loaded into hovercraft transports. and was headed for the tiny island of Principe. Off the coast four Iowa class battleships unleashed 16 inch shells on the beaches and towns. Destroyers and frigates fired their 6 inch guns and JSFs pounded the ground with dumb bombs.

OOC: Geez, can you try to make one post at a time? Stop launching attacks and assuming you succeed with impunity.

IC: The Immortals were met by fierce opposition from the well-armed, Edolian trained UWA troops, who fought Parthian soldiers to a standstill in the small urban are of Sao Tome (this is the name of both the city and the island, referring in this case to the former). They were supported by members of the former Sao Tome military, now wearing the uniform of the Local Gendarmie, perhaps 800 in number. The SAMs were being used ot murderous effect, as they're effective against any craft but especially versus low flying attack helicopters.

Finally the UWA airforce had gotten on the case. Two squadrons of Jaguars, aircraft comprising a good portion of the country's tiny airforce, streeked from their bases in Monrovia towards the JSF, attempting to intercept them with air-to-air missiles before they could make their lethal run.

F-18 escorts armed with AIRAAMs turned and fired a barrage of missiles at the Jaguar fighters, firing a barrage of 36 missiles. More F-18s were launched off the carriers and also moved to intercept the fighters.

A division of Immortals and their hovercraft transports moved towards the predetermined beachead. Inside the ships 25,000 Men and 300 Tanks waited to be unleashed on the enemy. The Hovercraft sped through the water at breakneck speeds at the urging of the Immortals.

In the center of the city Parthian forces were fighting the Gendarmes without much breakthorugh or advance.

Sao Tome was a destroyed, a raped city. The city of 60,000 had been reduced to rubble by chaingun and missile, and Pvt. Louis Duar was smack in the middle of it. The lanky soldier, whose RPK-74 seemed far too big for his thin, 18 year old body, clambered over the remains of one of many wrecked helicopters that littered the city streets. The power was out; the city was totally dark, but never for a minute silent. Rockets and bullets screamed out into the night, but he tried not to let the deafening noise get to him. After hours of pitched streetfighting, all the death and mayhem eventually blended into one another, becoming a single cacaphony rather than any sense of individual battles.

He perched his PKM onto a pile of rubble, along with his Sao Tome Gendarmie friend. They didn't understand each other, but the native figher knew a few words of French and that was enough to handle his ammunition, he thought.

The fighting was brutal and was moving nowhere. The city, being remote and provincial as it was, didn't seem planned out in any logical way. Blind alleys suddenly appeared where none should have been, culde sacs formed easy traps for invading troops unfamiliar with the terrain.

Daur was stationed in one of these blind alleys with his squad weapon. Suddenly he heard the sound of bootfalls on the sidestreet. A squad of Parthians was making its way towards a contested building. The soldier swiveled his gun around to meet him, the weapon barking to life and cutting down a half-dozen troops where they ran. The Immortals were prone to blundering into traps like this, but it was only luck that he wasn't taken down with them. Soon, they would be calling for reinforcements.

Suddenly Daur heard the 'thwup-thwup-thwup' of a Blackhawk overhead. Very close overhead. He could even feel the wind of the rotor against his camouflage-clad skin, and silently he resigned himself to his fate. At least with the chainguns, his death would be quick. He and his newfound comrade would not linger and die of lead poisong as had his corporal. He sighed to the man holding his ammunition. "Well.. I know you can't understand me, but this is goodbye. But we gave them a good fight. We've done our duty."

From out of the night sky screamed a trail of fire, tearing out of a distant section of rumble and impacting into the chopper. Like a lance of divine retribution, the Mistral bit into the armor plating and tore the helicopter in two.

Despite himself, Daur laughed. His heart was beating a thousand times a minute. At least he would live to fight another day, another hour, another minute. This fight had tought him that life was precious, and every minute must be hung onto as though it was one's last. With the realization that it very well could be, he hunkered down and prepared for any Parthian counterattack.

***

The Principe garrison wasn't holding out so well. Knowing that they were outnumbered and their chances were almost nil, they made their offer of surrender. They would lay down their arms, so long as they were treated in accordance with the Geneva convention - that is, released after the conflict was over, and subject to no Persian tortures.

***

Word had reached military high command that Parthian forces were making yet another amphibious landing. With any luck, the anti-vehicle and anti personnel mines the troops had laid around the beaches would hold them off at least for a time. But additional reinforcements were doubtless necessary. Peacekeepers were being pulled out of the Cameroon, and the 1st Motor Rifles division was being readied for combat.

***

In the skies above the Gulf, the Jaguars took a number of hits. Six were blasted out of the sky, but not before several managed to get in close to the JSFs and launch 12 Air to Air missiles at the napalm carriers. Even if they made it, their strike would be more hindrance than help: the island was so tiny that with recent troop movements, the 1500 remaining UWA soldiers were too close to the Immortals to use the bombs safely.

The news of the Parthian attack Sao Tome and Principe was of total shock to the General Secretary of the communist party. He immediatly called up his marshalls for a emergency discussion.

Inside the Kremlin

"Comrade Marshalls,I have assembled you here for we must discuss the current situation on the islands of Sao Tome and Principe. We must support our ally as soon as possible"

"Well,General Secretary Sir,The 3rd Fleet which has just returned from training exercises has just finished re-supplying..The fleet was supposed to go on a trip of good-will but..we can quickly change its destination and misson"

"Well then,Good..I want all branches of the Military to be prepared..I expect the best from this nation for we must not falter infront of the Facist invader"

The Marshalls each got up..one after another saluting the General Secretary as he sat down pondering about the current situation and what it could possibly lead up to.

five JSFs exploded in fireballs as the missiles tore into their hulls and blew them into tiny pieces. The F-18s now turned on the Jaguars and fired another volley of AIRAAMS. The Remaining strike planes had the relative positions of every Parthian squad (thanks to a radio transmitter embedded in the XM-8 rifles of seargeants and squad leaders) in their in-flight map. They would drop ordinance at least 300 Meters from Parthian troops. The remaining seven JSFs plotted their courses and headed for their attack coordinates, dropping bombs on each one.

Sao Tome-
Three JSFs flew over the landing beach and dropped fuel-air bombs, able to crush men into a pulp and destroy mines and demolition charges. More followed, dropping napalm, clusterbombs, and fuel-air bombs. Parthian troops soon followed as hovercrafts drove onto the beach and put down ramps. The first troops and tanks soon moved down the ramps with AH-64s following closely.

Principe- The bombardment ceased as JSFs pounded the beaches with Fuel-Air bombs, Napalm, and cluster munitions. The Hovercrafts began to close as the bombardment ended, throwing down their ramps and exiting their transport.

OOC: What's the word on the Principe garrison's surrender offer?

EDIT: ANd by "too close" I meant just what I said, too close. They're in the same, tinyass little city. Even if you didn't hit your own troops you'd set the whole damn thing on freakin' fire and undoubtedly kill your own men. Unless you don't care and your intention is to reduce the city to absolutely nothing. Remember third world countries don't make their buildings fireproof. So.. again, you can reconsider that post, otherwise I'm taking it into account on my reply.

Give us your weapons and return to your homes in UWA. We ask that the officers above Seargeant rank surrender to us, they shall be treated in a manner proscribed by the Geneva convention.

ooc: Edited to normal bombs.

"We have the backing of our allies in this matter. Soon, an armada will be sent to crush your fleet. Even if you do emerge victorious, your losses will be appalling. We recommend you sue for peace, now. If you really don't intend to occupy the islands, we feel we have a treaty proposal that would be acceptable to both sides."

"Roger that." And with that the tranports approached within 5 mile sof the outskirts of Sao Taome. The small transport boats that carried the men too shore began too carry the Red Tide soldiers too shore. The Red Tide soldiers were carrying state of the art XM-100 Assualt Rifles, XM-50 Submachine guns, MDM-1 Anti Tank Rocket Launchers, and MDM-2 Handheld Radar Guided SAMs.

OOC:A description of my soldiers all the way up too Sargeant: They wear clearly visible body armor and a speacial armored gas mask. They also wear goggles that make their eyes glow red. The rest of their bodies are covered with camouflage sleeves, camouflage pants, gloves, and boots. Their helmets are painted in the following pattern: red, white, red, white. The only other distinguishible fact is the electronic collar around their neck.

The officers(ie:Everybody above sargeant all the way up too 2 star general) are a bit more complex. Their faces look robotic but they are not robots, their eyes also glow white instead of red. They wear not only body armor but a flack jacket over that. They wear the same electronic collar as the soldiers.

Both soldiers and officers are fannatically loyal and obey orders without qeustion and unflinchingly... they do not surrender. They ignore even wounds that are critical(such as getting a arm blown off) in favor of continueing on the fight until they drop dead.

Our proposal is as follows:

Sao Tome's decision to join the Federation still stands. The will of the people will not be thwarted by violence.

In return for Parthia's departure, Sao Tome and Principe will be declared a demilitarized zone. No military forces of any kind are to reside on the island except for police. Thus, no one's interests are threatened by Sao Tome's unity with the Federation, and any accusations that we are using coercion to force the population into anything will be laid to rest.

In return, Parthia will pay reparations directly to the government of Sao Tome and Principe for all combat damage sustained in the conflict.
