SIV-21

http://img21.photobucket.com/albums/v63/Chlevenkov/SC-14_APC.jpg
*This SIV-21 has been heavily armored with slight design changes to accomadate more armor.

The SIV-21, an Infantry Fighting Vehicle and APC rolled into one. It was designed to provide the ARSB with a para-drop capable APC to accompany SV-90 IFVs and T-05s into battle and to provide paradrop forces an efficient, well armored, and well armed personnel carrier. The SIV-21 was funded through ARSB's desire to build a seperate, lighter force that could project ARSB military strength to any region on the planet in a short period of time. Through this project we have developed the successful LBT T-05, SV-90, and the previous SIV infantry vehicles.

The SIV-21 has been in use by ARSB forces for some time and is now just being released for sale. The SIV-21 is the dedicated APC of the ARSB ground forces and fulfills multiple roles, as shown below.

25mm SB-APCG-03 Automatic cannon

Advanced Modular Turret Armament System-
This system allows a WIDE range of weapons to be mounted in an easily changeable format at the gunner's hatch opening and the commander's hatch opening. Multiple mount systems allow 7.62mm MGs, .50 MGs (AA), and 40mm grenade launchers to be easily mounted in a cupola or on a 3 position joint (pivot, up-down, side to side). The following weapons can be added, one at the commander's position, and one at the gunner's position. Or all of the weapons can be mounted to cover a VAST array of duties. The EMTAS 25mm Autocannon is the default choice and is mounted in a mini-turret atop the main turret. Weaponry in this mini-turret can operate with the main gun or independently. They can also operate using controls within the vehicle itself. Whatever weapon is installed, it will operate with the electronics suite in place within the mini-turret.

NSVK 12.7 mm anti-aircraft cannon

PKT 7.62mm MG

AG-39 40mm Fully Automatic Grenade Launcher

(Or any other foreign weaponry)

Other weaponry-
Two positions for 7.62 or 12.7mm machine guns

Integrated Modular Side-Turret Weaponry Mount System-
This system is a series of slides and pivot joints to allow for the addition of multiple weapons to the side of the turret, those weapons are as follows:

.50 MG (AA)
Any higher-caliber AA Cannons (up to two on each side)
ATGM missiles
ATGM missile pods
Unguided rocket pods
SAM Missile Pods
Sensor equipment
Communications equipment

Armor:
Basic hull is all aluminum

SB-ANTA- 3 inch layer of honeycombed titanium, solid titanium, kevlar/ceramics layer, and steel along with High-Density Plastic Material (a dense plastic composite that is far stronger than steel). Relative steel thickness- 1100mm sides, top- 800mm, rear-1000mm, front- 1400mm, bottom- 300mm

Steel/ceramic plates can be easily added on to the front, sides, and top.

SYSTEMS-
ALMRS/TTAC-04 Mk. III system: Tracks up to 78 enemies and ranks them according to range, heading, threat level, and tank-type to provide best possible firing solution. Also computes MOA and other variables and automatically sets turret and barrel to correct heading (when this feature is engaged) and can fire on up to two targets simultaneously (assuming ATGM's are on their respectable slides). Also tracks and targets enemy targets at up to 500 ft. altitude and up to 30 miles away.

SB-AFCS-S1 system: This advanced fire control system allows for the vehicle to engage moving targets while the vehicle is on the move. The barrel will always remain aimed at target while vehicle is in motion and will not waiver even over small hills, dips, bumps, and other obstructions. The barrel will always target enemy unit unless commander targets a new target or disengages system. The SB-AFCS-S1 system will continually track all targets and align barrel to fire on the target even if the target is on the move, the barrel will constantly update and move with the target while computing wind, weather, and MOA abilities for the best possible accuracy. The barrel will move on two different axis'. The commander's station is outfitted with nightvision capabilities, infrared capabilities, radar tracking capabilities (if an EW, radar aircraft, or radar station is near and able to send information), and advanced targetting systems. The commander's station is also outfitted with a periscope with nightvision, infrared capabilities, and a computerized screen to locate targets if they are obscured. Coupled with this system is the ALRS (Advanced Laser Range-finder System) which utilizes a laser rangefinder with a triple layer screen with crystals at different angles to scatter any enemy lasers that are attempting to disable the rangefinder. The rangefinder laser passes through a roughly 3mm hole in the screen. (This system also works for the 25mm Secondary weapon)

SB-AMWRS-01- Millimetric wave radar

ARENA Mk. II: Scrambles enemy ATGM's radars and tracking systems. Also interferes with all ATGM tracking systems and/or other guided weapons' systems. Can also interfere with enemy tanks' tracking systems, including tracking, information distribution, infrared, and other systems.

Shtora-3 defense suite: Scrambles enemy laser rangefinder, making it nearly impossible for enemy tank to fire, unless they guess the range. Also scrambles enemy communications systems and tracking systems. Also interferes with enemy laser-based systems and laser-type weapons by using a controlled beam of ultraviolet rays to scatter the laser (communications systems, weapons systems, rangefinder systems).
*Note- The Shtora-3 system can be seen on the very top picture, directly above the cannon, well, at least the emitter portion.*

AEISCN-03: Shares target information with other friendly tanks in the field along with other information, also allows friendly tanks in large numbers to make coordinated attacks through out the battlefield. Also allows friendly tanks to instantly reorganize into new squadrons and divisions for new assaults and also relays all information back to command. This system also checks in every 2 minutes (or shorter; can be adjusted) with GPS and military satellites to update terrain and enemy movements [A total of 34 ARSB satellites aid this and can pinpoint location with an accuracy of 30 feet). Also takes updated information and relays it to the commander's screen which displays all friendly tanks, enemy tanks, standing orders, enemy formations, buildings, objects, and other environmental objects. Coupled with this system is the SB-LRRCS (Long-range Radio communications set) with a range of roughly 450 miles.

NBC System SB-CAP-1 - This NBC system protects against nuclear, biological, and chemical threats as well as seal of the internal areas of the tanks from the outer environment, relying on an SB-AIR-M air recycling and cleaning unit to provide breathable oxygen to the tank's crew.

Periscope systems- Twin periscopes (commander periscope mentioned before)- Gunner periscope is outfitted with infrared technology, night vision tech, and the AEISCN-01 system (which shows enemy units based on satellite and aircraft intelligence or intel from other friendly ground units). Also, on both periscopes is an active recording/viewable video camera (that can record or display in infrared, low light, night vision, millimetric radar or with computer-added symbols [arrows, boxes; to display locations of enemy units, friendly units, obstacles])

Soldier Protection and Fighting Capabilities

Soldiers are protected from inside the vehicle by extensive side armor, top armor, and an exceptional floor armor capable of withstanding the blast of up to three anti-personnel or one anti-tank land mine. This is possible by using non-essential equipment to assist the armor in absorbing the blast's shrapnel and energy.

The vehicle also has five firing ports that can be used by infantry inside, two one each side and one to the rear. Each firing port has a mount for a 7.62mm machine gun and has one flip-up armor plate (on the outside) and a slide down armored partition on the inside.

To protect the soldiers as they disembark the vehicle and to increase their exit time, an advanced ramp system is used. On the outside are two armored partitions that open to the sides, each can withstand 7.62mm machine gun fire and each has an armored firing port. As they fling out, they lock into a near perpendicular (100 degree angle in relation to rear portion) position with the rest of the rear portion. Next, a compressed air system drops the main armored ramp down until a certain point where hydraulics take over and lower it to the ground. This entire process takes a little more than 30 seconds but provides them with extensive protection. This rear door system is located just to the side of the rear-facing firing port, so the soldier at the port can provide protection to the disembarking soldiers.

The vehicle also maintains two top hatches for soldier disembarkation or for firing from or for emergency exit.

Urban Warfare

The SIV-21 APC/IFV wasn't necessarily designed for the urban combat environment but it performs superbly, nonetheless. Its heavy armor (especially if more armor is tacked on) defeats all small arms rounds, most RPGs, and some heavier rounds. The SIV-21 is also very survivable against mines and other explosives. Its top armor is very protected, unlike many other APCs.

Reconaissance

The SIV-21 APC/IFV can also become a very useful reconaissance platform for tracking enemy movements and for providing other SIV-21s or tanks with real-time surveillance courtesy of a suite of systems mounted in a removable mast above the turret. This mast contains three seperate cameras, low light/infrared visual, millimetric radar receiver, and a laser rangefinder. An SIV-21 equipped with this system is indispensible to its counterparts and to commanders.

Mobility

Its tracks allow it to cross most if not all types of terrain with ease and little ground disturbance. It can also ford water up to 4.2 meters deep, using its tracks to propel it.
To add to its mobility is its light weight, it can be easily transported by aircraft and can be air-dropped as well is infantry forces.

Multiple Mission

The SIV-21 was designed with modularity in mind, keeping it easy to go from one mission to the other... It excels in this area. Many SIV-21s in the ARSB inventory have been easily modified for numerous duties, from anti-tank (gun) to anti-aircraft (missile) and from command variants to mobile mortar carriers. Most of the variants are listed below-

Air Defense (gun)- Uses four 23mm cannons mounted on the sides of the turret
Low Air Defense (anti-helicopter)- Single 30mm 7-barreled SB-TNA-45 gattling-type gun, increased top and forward armor, two two-missile launchers (on each side of turret)
Air Defense (missile)- Uses two quad-missile launchers (still maintains 25mm main gun)
Anti-tank (gun)- Uses 105mm or 120mm conventional cannon in a turret-less configuration
Anti-tank (missile)- Uses two quad-missile ATGM launchers (still maintains 25mm main gun) mounted on turret sides
Command- Increased armor, smaller turret, command equipment and antennae
Supply- Downgraded armor, no turret, 2 machine guns, carries cargo
Combat Supply- Same armor, very small turret, two machine guns, carries cargo
Munitions carrier- Same armor, no turret, two machine guns
Mortar carrier- Same armor, adjustable roof panel, carries mortar and mortar team
Personnel carrier- Standard, 25mm main gun, (all specs shown above)

Standard Equipment

Self Recovery Winches

Heated floors as well as heating for driver and rear compartments

NBC Ventilation system

4.4 meters height? despite the advanced systems and the otherwise good construction (and the excellent armor for an APC), i must tell you that this thing would be an enormous target in a gunsight - 4.4 meters is nearly 14 and a half feet. it's pretty much always better to not be able to be hit than to hope that the armor withstands the hit.

and as a reference and not a hijack of your thread, our main apcs, of much simpler construction (5 MGs, a radio, and until recently regular steel/titanium armor) are 1.8m in height unloaded, and though though they can't be used as IFV's against AT-capable targets, their battle survival rate is excellent.

4.4 meters... Damn, I can assure you its not supposed to be that tall. In my saved version (on MS Word), I've got the height stated as follows-

-----------------
Height (of body)- 92.5" (About eight feet tall)
Height (with turret)- 119.2" (Ten feet tall)
-----------------

I'm guessing, since I use about the same template (well, I've used this one before but not often [just on the SV-90]), that's probably the length of one of our smaller vehicles (most likely the M-08, which I also used this template for). How it got to the height part, I don't know.

------------

Anyways, no problem Layarteb.

Layarteb- Very nice.

NWV- Well, in armament (without ATGMs mounted on it) it lacks compared to the BMP-3. But, if the SIV-21 is outfitted for anti-tank combat (with either 105mm or 120mm conventional turret-less cannon) then it's an improvement (especially since it mounts ATGMs with the cannon).

I also believe this carries more infantry and moves substantially faster. Armor, I think they're about equal (not sure).

Otherwise, this has a wide-array of possible armaments with its modular turret suite (which means you can basically mount your own weaponry on it).

The only other thing is the BMP-3 is completely amphibious, this is not (it can ford waters up to its full body height, about 8 feet without preparation and even deeper with a snorkel). Although I may work on an amphibious version.

Layarteb- Very nice.

Thanks. It's not as modable as the SIV-21 and doesn't have much of the same avionics but I think it's certainly going to be better than my current APC, the M113A3 LOL!

SE Scoyle- Due the size of the order (100,000 is ALOT!) and the age of your nation. I'm going to have to deny. But, if you make your order smaller I'd be happy to sell you some. I can sell you 1000. So, that'd be 1.2 Billion USD.

26-07-2004, 20:05
still too high, but otherwise a sound design. i don't suppose that you'd be willing to either design an IFV of comparable capability but substantially smaller (or at least shorter), or collaborate with us to employ your systems on our vehicles? the Berëzan army, despite being over a RL year old and enormously powerful, doesn't have any IFV's at all, since our army fights using mostly WW2 strategies with modern technology.
Soviet Bloc
26-07-2004, 21:06
Well, it'd be too costly to redesign the SIV-21 (as we've already produced many) and too much work to redesign it for the use of one nation. However, we are willing to work with Berezan arms officials in implementing systems that Bereza wants/needs into their own vehicle(s) at a set price per vehicle.

Or, possibly assisting Berezan officials in designing a whole new vehicle using Berezan chassis and overall design with ARSB systems, armor, and possibly armament for use by Bereza.

Alright, confirmed. I assume you mean 10,000 units. If so, the units will be built and shipped over the next 9 years with an intial shipment of nearly 450 units from our current stockpiles (so you have some to begin with for training, etc.).

what about designers of this and possibly other IFV's collaborating with ours in designing a new one from scratch (i.e giving pointers on what's a good idea on an IFV, what's not, and/or designing the IFV parts while we concentrate on the weaponry and chassis)? again, we don't have any IFV's, and it's possible though unlikely that the BPT-1 (the low-slung APC mentioned previously) is the ideal platform for an IFV.

for this, we could either pay a flat rate for the assistance, pay per vehicle, or allow you to use the vehicle as well if you find it worthy for your purposes. we're open to suggestion.
Soviet Bloc
27-07-2004, 02:58
We would be willing to allow our engineers and our largest military corporation, Dat' Pizdy Arms Corp. to assist you in building your own IFV.

Our current dedicated tracked APC/IFV is the SIV-21 (this vehicle).

Our dedicated wheeled/mobile APC/IFV is the SV-90 which has a larger standard armament but less capacity. If you want to see the specifications for this, just ask and we'll show them to you in the event you feel this is the vehicle you want.

We'd prefer that you paid a set price per vehicle used, because we've recently put the SV-90 IFV in service along with our SIV-21s (which had been in service for a little bit).

ARMAMENT
60 mm NTC-45D Electro-Thermal Cannon :The projectile is loaded into the barrel, behind which there is a "propellant", which is a dot of light metal (solid or liquid). A powerful electromagnetic force is applied to the metal, which causes its atoms to "switch" directions. This happens so violently that the metal turns to plasma, and this expanding gas then drives the projectile forward. Since the cannon is built into a turret, it can rotate 360-degrees and can aim upwards 32 degrees and -7 degrees. Around the firing mechanism and the barrel is enclosed in the SB-AHAS Heat-absorbing and dissipating shroud which absorbs the heat and dissipates it over a wide area.

Range: 8.9 miles. Effective range: 5 miles
Rounds stored: 18 on autoloader system, 16 on autoloader re-loader belt, and 30 stored rounds

The cannon is stabilised on double axis' and can fire on the move.

Rate of Fire: 16 rounds per minute

Ammunition- Can effectively use any type of ammunition (in 60mm) as long as the round's own propellant (and casing) is removed (this includes ball-type, discarding sabot, HE, DU, tungsten, etc.)

New Round- SSJPSR (Secondary SCRAMJET-powered Sabot Round)
The SSJPSR (or JASPER) round is an enhanced depleted uranium sabot round with a SCRAMJET built into the the sabot, when a small onboard computer detects a target at a certain range (or timed), the SCRAMJET can ignite and propel the round two or three times its normal speed to enhance destruction against an enemy unit.
Also new-
The ERAPSR (ERA-Penetrating Sabot Round)- This round utilises a heavy rod with two charges on each end... When a small on board computer senses an ERA exploding, the first charge is lit, nearly making the ERA useless, then the rod penetrates the armor, and second explosive, after a sensor has detected impact, will wait for a time period before igniting.

Secondary weapons

Advanced Modular Turret Armament System-
This system allows a WIDE range of weapons to be mounted in an easily changeable format at the gunner's hatch opening and the commander's hatch opening. Multiple mount systems allow 7.62mm MGs, .50 MGs (AA), 25mm cannons, and 20mm grenade launchers to be easily mounted in a cupola or on a 3 position joint (pivot, up-down, side to side).

EMTAS 25mm autocannon- mounted alongside (or on top; can be easily removed and placed in a special cupola) main gun and can fire along with the main gun (whether or not its alongside or on top of the turret.) (This is shown attached to the tank)

NSVK 12.7 mm anti-aircraft cannon

PKT 7.62mm MG

AG-39 20mm Fully Automatic Grenade Launcher

Other weaponry-
Two positions for 7.62 or 12.7mm machine guns

SB-AWSS: All-wheel steering system, uses an advanced hydraulics layout to actively steer all four wheels when steering the vehicle, increasing maneuverability.

SB-ATRPCS: Automatic Tire Reinflation and Pressure Control System- Allows driver to change tire pressure for maximum traction and it automatically uses one of the four on-board air pumps and compressors to reinflate the tires when they are punctured and it deploys liquid sealant into the tire to seal the puncture. Tire can run flat if necessary due to reinforced steel rims.

Mountainous Region Fighting Capabilities

The SV-90 maintains the MPWHS-41 mountainous terrain multiple-position wheel system that can raise or lower individual wheels or entire axles depending on terrain conditions, making it very stable on slopes. This system works automatically using sensors and wheel data.

The SV-90 also maintains the entire MTS Equipment Suite which runs the following equipment:

Automatic self-righting hydraulic systems- In case the SV-90 tips or rolls over, this will automatically right the vehicle using a series of hydraulic cylinders and plates.

Manual Self-Righting System- A series of eight high-load winches are located around the vehicle in strategic locations. In the event of a roll-over, a winch on the side farthest to the ground can be used to right the vehicle by tying its cable to a nearby object.
-------

Otherwise, the vehicle is remarkably stable for its size.

The SV-90 also has five firing ports that can be used by infantry inside, two one each side and one to the rear.

The SV-90 also maintains two top hatches for soldier disembarkation or for firing from or for emergency exit.

Future Fighting Systems

The turret on the SV-90 has enough room for one person in the event the autoloader system fails or another firing position is needed (using an MG mount on the main turret). Otherwise, the advanced autoloading system and munitions storage lies in the turret.

The SV-90 also contains room for the addition of advanced networking abilities to buyer nations. The ARSB version contains the AEISCN-03 which links this unit into the world-wide ARSB offensive and defensive operations network, giving it numerous abilities including the following: allowing it to fire an ATGM which will then use a helicopter or aircraft's guidance system to guide it to a target outside the vehicle's visual range as well as over hills and other obstacles.

Other

Survivability- Enhanced frame, strenghtened braces, low radar signature (due to absorbant materials coating outer layer of armor), low heat signature (Using SB-AHAS [see SB-NTC cannon] and engine heat masking systems), low visual signature (low height, fairly narrow).

Ergonomical features- Engine based heater (for winter), Central air cooling system or underside-opening vents for fresh air, heated seats, defoggers, dehumidifier (to reduce moisture in air and reduce condensation inside turret), low-noise fans, ergonomically-placed lights

Cost: 1.8 million USD; 1.5 million USD for allies

==============================

That is the SV-90.
I'd have the pic for you but I was too lazy to find the link, lmao. If you really want to see it, just tell me.

OOC- I think it has the possibility, if we play it right, of course.

I really got to thinking earlier that 50,000 was way far off. I need 100,0....NOT!!

Its not your fault or mine it is Bill Gates's fault for making such a retrated company.

Denied. 200,000 units is alot and most nations could not afford to purchase or maintain such a fleet of vehicles.

We ask that you purchase a much more realistic number of vehicles (less than 10,000) and that order will most likely be accepted.

It has recently come to my master's attention, that we are in dire need of an upgraded APC, the Bradley simply won't do, especially seeing as high quality ARSB equipment is being distributed throughout the rest of the military, why shouldn't the mechanized infantry get their share?

We would make an offer but we'd rather you named the price for the SIV-21's production rights.

Thank you.

Anagonia

Anagonia would gadly purchase Private Production Rights, in which case if allowed to go through would limit Anagonia to only producing said product for only Anagonian Armed Forces, no others.

With this explanation, I hope it is possible that this can come through, for most of our weaponry is purchased as we see benefit in economic friendships.

If allowed, we ask that a copyright of said products specs be produced, as we currently post all Vehicles and Data in a said Database and include all copyrights as we wish not to claim vehicle specs as our own.

Thank You.

The ARSB will grant production rights to both Anagonia and Kriegorgrad for $5 Billion USD...

However... The SIV-25 has been recently designed (actually its more like a massive overhaul and it externally resembles the SIV-21). Now, it isn't exactly for sale yet, however, we will sell production rights to both of your nations for the same price of $5 Billion USD. Among the improvements over the SIV-21, the SIV-25 maintains a heavier armament payload including a 30mm Electro-Thermal main gun, the optional Mobile Gun and Missile System upgrade, a three-barreled 12.7mm mini-turreted machine gun with its own thermal targetting (its also wired into the vehicle's targetting) designed for anti-personnel, anti-aircraft, as well as a possible anti-missile defense system. Also, the SIV-25 maintains a more potent computer system including enhanced tracking and targetting. Another upgrade is the SIV-25s armor using a revolutionary new concept to give it armor values that rival a tank. We're talking values approaching and over 2000mm RHA. The secret to the system? Refer to the thread.

The only downside to the SIV-25 is an increased weight (the SIV-21 was still a light IFV in comparison to others).

Otherwise, here's the specs for the SIV-25 (on international mall and in an edited thread)-
