This vessel is designed for littoral warfare and is capable of withstanding shore fire from missiles and Artillery. This ship also incorporates stealt features into its design and on radar appears to be about the size of a medium size fishing boat. This vessel is also designed for task force flagship, Fleet air defense and assaulting beaches. This vessel is also good as an ASW asset as well as ASuW.

Mongoose MK II
http://www.defense-update.com/images/skjold-front.jpg

The ship's configuration uses an Air Cushion Catamaran (ACC) design, which is an advanced variant of Surface Effect Ship (SES) technology. The ACC is based on a catamaran hull with an air cushion between the hulls and has been successfully proven with the Norwegian Oksoy class minehunters and minesweepers which entered service in 1994. The low area of wetted surface of the hulls gives an improved level of shock resistance and significantly reduced wave resistance compared to that of a conventional displaced or semi-displaced hull configuration.

The elevated position of the magnetic components reduces the magnetic signature. The combination of the twin hull and water jet propulsion provides very high and very responsive manoeuvrability. Vital systems have been duplicated for enhanced survivability and the ship remains operational with one engine room set lost.

The low draft of 0.9m on cushion gives an advantage of access to shallow coastal waters and lower vulnerability to impact against surface or tethered mines or other debris.

The hull is of composite construction. The hulls are laminated inside and outside with fibre reinforced plastic composed of glass fibre and carbon laminates bound with vinyl ester and polyester resin. A scrimp manufacturing process is used in construction, involving vacuum assisted resin injection. Carbon fibre and carbon loaded materials have been selected for the beams, mast and supporting structures, which need high tensile strength, for example the support structures for the gun and the electro-optical and radar weapon director.

Radar absorbent materials have been used in the load bearing structures over large areas of the ship. This strategy leads to significant weight saving compared to conventional construction techniques of applying RAM cladding to the external surfaces. The ship's profile has a faceted appearance with no right angle structures and few orientations of reflective panels. Doors and hatches are flush with the surfaces and the windows are flush without visible coaming (edge of window aperture) and are fitted with radar reflective screens.

The ship is armed with eight Kongsberg NSM (Nye Sjoemaals Missiler or Norwegian Strike Missile) anti-ship missiles, which have been developed for the Skjold class ships and for the Fritjof Nansen Frigates. The NSM missile is equipped with an imaging infrared seeker and has a range in excess of 150km.

The ship's short-range surface-to-air missile is the infrared-guided MBDA Mistral in a portable configuration. A twin launcher will be deployed on the deck or on a land site. The missile is armed with a 3kg warhead and has a target range of 4km.

The ship's gun, for deployment against aircraft and other vessels, is the Oto Melara 76mm Super Rapid. The gun has a burst-firing rate of 120rpm, firing 6kg shells to a range of 16km.

The main propulsion is by waterjet, which gives a very shallow draught and extraordinary maneuvering capabilities. The waterjets are normally driven by gas turbines but may also be driven by small diesel engines in order to reduce infrared signature. The waterjet nozzles can be moved independently to manoeuvre the Mongoose MK II sideways without side propellers or bow propellers. The Mongoose MK II retains its ability to turn through very sharp angles even at high speed.

The prototype has two Rolls Royce Allison 571KF gas turbine engines, each rated at 6,000kW (8,160hp), driving two Kamewa water jets. These provide a maximum speed of more than 100km/h (55 knots). The new series of Mongoose MK II class ships is being fitted with four gas turbines from Pratt & Whitney, two ST18 rated at 2kW x 4,000kW and two ST 40 rated at 2kW x 2,000kW, driving the two Kamewa water jets. There are two auxiliary engines, MTU 6R 183 TE52 rated at 275kW and two manoeuvring engines MTU 6R TE92 rated at 3,700kW.

Two MTU 12V TE92 lift fan engines, rated at 735kW, drive the air into the air cushion between the hulls. A computer controlled ride control system controls the air cushion at a 0.5m water column pressure.

Silencer Class Submarine (Heavily Modified Ohio)

http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/slbm/ssbn-SUBMT1.jpg
Using increased automation we have reduced the crew size of an Ohio class submarine down to 11 officers and 40 men

We have also removed the missile silos of the Ohio and put in Hangar space for 3 helicopters, 1 RAH-66 Commache, and 2 MH-60 Nighthawk special operations helicopters. Along with Hangar space is billeting and some training room for up to 55 Special operations soldiers.
There are also 5 Zodiac stored within the vessel.

[i]Cranson [/b]Class Submarine

The Cranson will have an increased diving depth of over 400m, due to improvements in the pressure hull materials. Hull length is 65m and displacement 1,700t. Four of the eight torpedo tubes will be capable of firing missiles.

Performance of the AIP system has been increased with two Siemens PEM fuel cells which produce 120kW per module and will give the submarine an underwater endurance of two weeks. A hull shape which has been further optimised for hydrodynamic and stealth characteristics and a low noise propeller combine to decrease the submarine's acoustic signature.
The Integrated Sensor Underwater System ISUS 90, from STN ATLAS Elektronik integrates all sensors, command and control functions on board the submarine. BAE Systems provides the Link 11 tactical data link. The sensor suite of the Cranson submarine consists of the sonar systems, an attack periscope and an optronic mast. The submarine's electronic support measures system and Global Positioning System sensors are also installed on the optronic mast.

OOC: thanks, I Just got back from the army, so i was off this game for 4 months and all of a sudden Uber-Dreadnaughts just are everywhere. And people think they are really feasible.

So I brought back all of my designs from before I left that were on the cutting edge then.

BTW what do you think of the designs?

Hmm, well I'm not very big into battleships or dreadnoughts or what not. I prefer missiles to guns and fighter-bombers to slow, armored ships. Unfortunately pretty much everyone is using the super large dreadnoughts so its either blanket IGNORE them all and have no one to RP with or adapt. Thus, I now have to learn all sorts of info regarding these vessels and develop new tactics to deal with them. I like your designs though...not so large that they'd be impractical or bank-breaking, but still large enough to make their presence felt. I'd like to see a picture of the Mosquito class submarine carrier though; I like the idea of those. Anyways, good luck with your business ventures.

While good vessels, none of them fit my needs. Then again, I'm a small nation. Noone seems to think of ships that fit the needs of small nations, I hate to say. What about a small deisel submarine? Or a low-cost destroyer or Patrol Boat? How about an inexpensive pocket Carrier? Everyone is so focused on the big-boats, they're ignoring that the vast majority of countries need small coastal craft to defend their waters, not deep-sea navys.

I'm working on a DDX Destroyer

A Diesel based on the U-214 that germany has right now.

those are works in progress.

And my Aberdeen class assault Cruiser would probably be an Ideal Flagship for a smaller navy.

And ummm The Peregrine isn't exactly a Large carrier Either, its about medium

You do realise feasible doesn't mean hideously underarmed and unprotected, right? As much fun Iowa and Montana rip-offs are...Im afriad they would suffer badly in the high-level combat enviroment of NS.

Basing your designs on sixty year old warships isn't the best way to go, and knocking super-dreadnoughts as unfeasible is getting *slightly* annoying now...yes, they may be slow, expensive, resource intensive floating islands...but they are feasible. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Oh, and before you ask 'Where's you're shipbuilding degree?', I am technically studying (for one of my courses anyway) in that field and my wonderful professor agrees with me that these ships are capable. Seeing as there are plans for much larger ships in real life...well....there you go.

Have a nice day. And nice ships btw.

So you left...in the 1950s? Buddy, NS warships are feasible, although there are a few *Cough* Mass Pwnage's Uber-Class :p *Cough* that aren't, most NS designs could be completed in the modern day, if Goverments had the amounts of Funding that NS nations have, and the amount of need that NS nations have.

Other than the fact that I'm annoyed that you just declare every other ship builder besides yourself's ships "not feasible", You have an extremely good storefront, very organized and attractive.
