UEC's CAS introduces Tyrant-class superbattleship....

The United Empire of Colerica, on behalf of the Colerica Arms Syndicate, would like to welcome all potential buyers to meet the Tyrant-class Super-Battleship. While not as large as the more famous Doujin-class Super-Battleship, the Tyrant-class was produced with praticality in mind. The CAS feels that uber-ships like the Doujin-class are plainly too big and not needed in this day and age. However, the Tyrant-class offers both grand size, immense firepower, and surprising speed, to make it, as the CAS hopes, a formidable ship that no navy should be without.

The Colerica Arms Syndicate is proud to offer this for sale. We thank you for your time and interest.

OOC: I tweaked the specs on the ship after recieving some suggestions. I hope this works out. To all who have ordered, your ships will come with the new specs, not those that you ordered with. Price is the same, though. Pictures are here.....well, temporary ones, at least...when I get the time to do it, I'll scan a blueprint drawing I have of the ship.....(ignore the planes in the back of the third picture...I'll Photoshop those out later....it's just an enlarged Iowa-class....remember that.....c'mon, say it with me: "It's just an enlarged Iowa-class." Keep saying it.... :p As always, all comments and criticisms are welcome....got a suggestion? Tell me.....

Why did you only put 16" guns on it?

I had a made a thread about this along time ago (way before the Jolt move)...http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=310043&page=1&pp=15

Of the Council of Clan told me to drop most of my 5" guns and just stick with the 16's....for a ship that size, how big do you think the main guns could be (but I'd still be able to keep everything I have)? I stuck with 16" because it seemed like a reasonable number compared to the size of the vessel and how many of the main guns I want on board.....I'm open for suggestions, though....

[This is taken from a naval guide Doujin wrote to give a people a general idea of what about the navy and its ships are about.
Displacement=90-110,000 tons
14? guns: 21
16? guns: 16
18? guns: 12
20? guns: 9

Mind you, this is the absolute max with no other weapons on it. So, I think you got it about right. Oh, and just an FYI, the Doujin class has 1 million tons displacement, this ship is more like his Thunder Child class.]

Hutu would like to purchase 3 of these vessels, and would it be possible to negoiate a contract for us to build these in our country?

SS: it was CSJ who wrote the giude and to be honest i would stick with 16"ers but make them really long (ie 60cal) these would mass roughlky the same as a normal 18" rifle but likely have a longer range. bu tthats just my opinion

Hmm.....well, thanks for the list, at least. I guess I'll just stick with what I have, though. In the future, I'll take that list into mind when building a ship....and, personally, I think the Doujin-class is insanely too big.....but that's just my opinion....

The money will be transfered shortly. We thank you for considering this as you may know we just had a revolution, putting our party back into power. Do to the past regieme hoarding money the Navy was cut, the standing ships scrapped and sold, and we see your ship as an excellent vessel to base our new strike fleet around. We would also be interested in viewing any other ships you have for sale if that would be possible.

Please see this link (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=6614280#post6614280) for the Colerica Arms Syndicate's new naval storefront. While it is small now, it will soon branch out to encompass more vessels and will naval airpower, as well. Again, we thank you for your purchase.

What I meant was why did you only put 16" guns on it? It's hardly a superbattleship if it has a smaller armament than a Yamato.

It's got:

12 -- 16-inch/50 caliber Guns (Mark 7) (406mm)
4 -- 5-inch/38 caliber DP Guns (Mark 12) (127mm)
2 -- MK41 VLS (61 cells each, 122 in total)

16 -- RGM-84 Harpoon Anti-Ship Missiles

What else should it have?

Ok,what Im trying to say is the armament is a little light for it's size.

I think the point is that 16" guns are fairly standard for the primary battery of a battleship, and that the term "Super" battleship implies more. They're perfectly sufficient for blasting six shades of **** out of most targets for miles around, of course.
