Super-Carriers FNS Ocean and Orion Laid Down

Navarre Naval Shipyards, a subsidary of DoujinCorp Inc, today announced the laying down of the first cross-beams of the keels of the two latest ships designed by the famed shipyards. The Ocean and the Orion, the first the nameship of the class, began life today in inconspicuous surroundings in number 2 drydock.

The ships are the result of more than thirty years of research and design, although plans only really took shape after the Government of the Scandanavian States expressed an interest in the project. The mighty vessels will be built in significant numbers for both fleets, and will comprise the backbone of the carrier force in both nations in the coming years.

Official statistics haven't been released as of time of print, but a definate length of 560 metres has been confirmed, and speculation points to a displacement of 300,000 tons and a draft approaching 20 metres. No other details are avaliable at this time.

[How soon will it take you to complete one? The reason I ask is because I need my 4th Fleet to have carriers ASAP and I'm willing to loan you any and, if necessary, all of my drydocks to get the eight that I need pronto. I'll pay extra, and ahead of time, to get thise done.]

OOC: SS, as you were the party for whom the carrier was being built you have full non-commercial rights to the design anyway, so you can engage in production as soon as you like.

The design will go on commercial sale to those who are interested in a couple of days. Building time will be 10(NS) years, although if you desperately wish to rush them with OMG!effort then it can be pushed down to 7 years. Expect to pay for the rush job with considerable time spent later on in the drydocks. Be warned.

OOC: Well, I guess. But Paint, like any other program is only as good as the person using it. If you can't draw a ship on Paint you can't draw a ship on other mediums either. Indeed, Paint's simplicity is abonus when doing these sort of schematic like drawings.

Terra would like to express their amazement that Freethinkers has once again turned out an exceptional vessel. FDI continues to outdo itself in the realm of naval development. With the Leviathon, the Doujin, and now the Ocean, this company has established itself as the cutting edge in naval design. We'd also like to congratulate Scandavian States on having the foresight to support this project. The Republic of Ancient Terra wishes these nations luck as construction proceeds.

feel free to take some of my Guillen class BBGNs, if you have no use for them make it a museum or hollow it out and make it a freighter or just put it in the reserves

Furthermore, Terra expresses their interest in the Ocean-class, and will watch this thread for specifications to be posted.

And no offense to your ship, or any of the other Doujin wannabes, but I seriously doubt that any ship is going to counter the Doujin unless Freethinkers designs it himself.

Looks like Im going to have to make a Doujin style ship that is Anti-Doujin.

SS, I am sure I could work something to counter the Doujin as well, I wouldn't have an über picture, though *pets Freethinker* But only if I was motivated.. I'm not motivated, have no reason to be - the Doujin is well.. look at my name :P

I know Doujin, but you two always work together on the ships you make, so I didn't bother seperating you from Freethinker. Oh, and you've yet to respond to my latest offer on the UnAPS boards.
