IC: Deep under the Zagros Mountains-
A colony of 1,000 Hazara had been living down here for a week in a large dome, 500 meters underground and closed off to the outside world. All air and water going into this giant dome could be shut off and so could the exhaust ports. Or they could be sent through a decontamination filter. This dome was a biotesting facility, hundreds of convicts were usually the subjects but today this was Hazara. The one entrance was an airtight blast door, and that was separated from the elevator by an airlock. The dome contained several homes and a typical apartment building. Most Hazara were outside the homes in tents, crammed together. They had been given enough food and water for a month but it would be less then that before they died. From the top of the dome a thick window separated the dome from several Bio-Weapons scientists observing the Hazara below. One of them began to speak
"Commence first phase"
The exhaust fans were shut off by a security officer and ventilation bringing air into the dome was now to be done by passing it through several blast doors that only let in pulses of air.
(Guard) First phase complete, safe to test.
(Scientist) "Unleash Kali".
Another lab near the top of the dome opened an airlock and placed the Kali virus dispenser into the airlock. The technicians in the lab then activated the conveyor belt, moving the aerosol dispenser out of the airlock and onto a platform on the side of the dome. The technician in the lab then pressed the remote trigger, unleashing the aerosol sprayer.
Four to nine days later-
Because of transmissibility by air everyone in the compound has become infected by the virus. Most at this stage have:
---appetite loss
---increasing fever
---headaches
---muscle aches
One day later-
The virus is now taking a massive toll on everyone with it. Symptoms at this stage include:
---seminated intravascular coagulation (DIC)- characterized by blood clots and hemorrhaging mainly in the liver, spleen, and brain causing possible collapse of neighboring capillaries
---vomiting
---diarrhea (containing blood and mucus)
---Conjunctivitis-a eye disorder, similar to pink eye
---maculopapular rash-strange rash or skin irritation
Two to three days later-
The final stage of disease. Symptoms include-
---spontaneous hemorrhaging from all body outlets
---shock
---kidney failure
Death Comes after 7-12 Days depending on conditions and length of exposure.
This disease killed all but a single subject who was shot after the test.
Final Report by Dr. Prafaul Bidwai-
The disease, 'Kali', is highly effective in urban areas where people are very close to one another. In the test 00001 for the virus we observed an effect the virus would have on a densely populated capital or large city. Though the effects are indeed promising it must be noted that the facility was too overcrowded for an accurate test and the infection rate may have been a bit high. Nevertheless the mortality rate is 99.9% with only one person surviving the test with severe liver and kidney problems, as confirmed by the autopsy. Because of Kali's quick incubation time the disease could burn out before spreading making it useful to use before colonizing a country or to eliminate an enemy population of a certain area without much risk of it spreading too far. But, like most bioweapons, it is not recommended for use in frontline combat. We would like to do another test with 500 Hazara to determine a more accurate reading.
