I'm not sure what your sources of information are. Atheist merely means "One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods."
Atheists are not "sent" by anyone. They merely do not believe in a god. There may be some people who are against Christian teachings, but to group everyone who doesn't believe in a god into this category is a grave mistake.
