The Grand State House -- New Bethesda, Markov -- 6:30 MST
Three black stretch limousines pull up to the main entrance of the statehouse. They are greeted by six heavily armed marines and hundreds of civilians waiting to enter the state house.
The marines signal to the drivers of the limos that the passengers are clear to exit. The automated doors open and ten gentlemen in suits climb out. Among them is formar Admiral John Stillen. As he get out of the limo, he waves to the cheering crowd. The marines hurry Stillen and the other government officials into the state house. No one has been granted permission to enter yet...so the large building is empty. The marines lead the men down the main aisle, up on to the stage and then backstage to a large meeting room.
The meeting room was bustling with people. The marines disperse into a security stand-by room. A tall, brown-haired woman with glasses approache the men.
"Please, have a seat. They will begin letting the press and civilians in shortly."
The men sit down around a large table with the Markovian presidential logo engraved into it. The woman also takes a seat. She places a large manila folder on the table and begins shuffling through papers. The men talk amongst themselves. The woman takes out a packet of papers and hands them to Stillen.
"Mr, President", she said looking at Stillen,"That is your speech for tonight. Look it over and add anything you think may be neceesary. There is one major change we made to the program since we last spoke."
Stillen looks up from the papers.
"Yeah, we found out just a short time ago that the E-Tek corporation has finished one of their major projects. It will be unveiled after your speech.", She said hastily.
Stillen's facial expression shifted.
"Uh, I don't think i would know what to say---he was interrupted
"The CEO of E-Tek will come on stage and present after you're done. Don't worry, everything will fall into place.", the woman explained.
The woman picks up her folder and got up from the table.
"The program will start in approximatly 45 minutes. At that time, somebody will start the introduction and you will come on stage."
The woman turned and walked away.
Stillen decided that he didn't want to look over the script. He was too excited and he knew that he would improvise anyway. This would be his first address to the people of Markov as president.
--
A man in a suit walks up to the podium in the center of the stage. The audiance falls silent.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he paused," The President of The Republic of Markov!"
Stillen quickly tidied his hair and began to walk on stage. A large Markovian flag rolled down in place of the red curtain.

The audiance clapped and again, fell silent.
Stillen approached the podium and put his script on it knowing he wouldn't use it. He looked up noticing all eyes were on him. The country was watching him.
"Hello,",his voice echoed throughout the room,"Tonight I address you as The President of The Republic of Markov. Today is a very influential day in the history of this great country. Today marks a new beginning. Today, there is no longer a corrupt socialist government in control of this country, but a stable capitalist government of which I am it's leader."
The audiance applauds wildly.
"Today,", he clears his throat,"The stock market opened for the first time in three years. Our unemployment rate in falling like a stone and the strenth of our military is now up to pre-war levels. Our great country is on the path of improvement. I promise you, there are many better days in store for Markov. No longer will the people be taxed at unfair levels, no longer will this country go to war for false reasons,"his voice grew louder," no longer will the people who worked so hard to make this country what it is not have a say in politics.
The audience applauds shortly again.
"In the days ahead, we will strive to strenthen foreign relations with our friends and enemies. We will establish new trade agreements and new economic policies. Our economy will soar within the next 10 years. All pre-war national projects will be continued on lower budgets to cut taxes. Mark my words.....Markov will again rise to be a major world superpower. It will take time but it will happen!"
There is a loud standing ovation.
"As you know, Markov is a scientifically driven nation. It is this urge for new technology that has been the soul of the country for years. Mr. Alex Lanning, CEO of the E-Tek corporation, known for it's technological advancements will now present to us, as a testimate of Markovian ingenuity their lastest product."
There is a short applause.
Mr. Lanning walks on stage and shakes hands with Stillen. Stillen walks off stage.
"For years the E-Tek corporation has supplied Markov with nearly every bit of military equipment they use. From the armor, to the munitions, to the naval vessels, to the aircraft. Tonight, I would like to present to you the latest from our Aerotech department: The MF-98 Super Phoenix air superiority/multirole fighter."
Lanning presses a button on the podium opening the floor of the stage up. The MF-98 rises out of the floor on a platform.

There is applause.
"With nearly 12 years in the making this fighter has turned out to be everything we had hoped for. It is the first Markovian aircraft to incorporate variable geometry wings with mission adaptive wings and still have stealth capabilities. The MF-98 was designed as a possible contender to the New Empirian F-125 Gyrafalcon and we believe it lived up to it. More details will be relased regarding this fighter in the future. Thank you."
Lanning walks off stage as there is another standing ovation.
