New Zarbian War Thread - The Second Zarbian Civil War

OOC: At the time of this post the peace process is still going on; however, I want to post some preperation..in any case, if war re-start it should take place on this thread.

IC:

[Off the Zarbian Coast]

The fleets had rondevouzed some two hundred kilometers off the Zarbian coast and began its preperation for the war. The temporary cease fire was expected to fail due to the lack of interest for the enemies to keep a fascist government in Zarbia. The new, gigantic, fleet was re-named Task Force Gargantuan and it was the mightiest fleet ever conjured up by any emperor of the Macabees. It had some seventeen large Rommel class Battleships - designed by prior Emperor Jonathan V, who had refurbished his navy, and broken any servitude to foreign suppliers that way. It competed with anything others could put up with seventeen carriers, and a lower amount of escort carriers. All in all, it was the manifestation of naval power, knocking on the door of an old ally, in helping it survive from the belligenrence of its enemies - Tyrandis and others.

Task Force Gargantuan's main part, including the larger ships, moved back. It set up a tight Anti Submarine Warfare perimeter in a four hundred kilometer radius - keeping the ASW some fifty kilometers from the Zarbian coast. The main fleet remained, consequently, four hundred and fifty kilometers away from the Zarbian coastline. A perfect distance. The ASW perimeter was formed up by the nuclear submarines, diesel submarines, destroyers, patrol boats, and assorted other ships and boats. Several subsequent wars had taught these sailors their jobs and they were among the best trained crews in the world. The fleet also kept up a tight AWACS preformed by dozens of Kondors, and smaller reconaissance aircraft, as well as Sea King II anti-submarine helicopters. Any foreign surface ships could be pinpointed at six hundred to seven hundred kilometers off the ASW perimeter, giving advance warning; any submarines could be caught some one hundred kilometers off the ASW perimeter with the help of the AWACs.

All in all, missile production had increased due to the prolonged war - so the Macabees had dozens of thousands of missiles ready for use, including: Principe III anti-shipping missiles, MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles, Legionatus I long range missiles, and others.

Ground commanders had been formulating strategy after strategy to quickly crush any enemy ground forces in the area using deep reach tactics. Several pamphlets on German strategy in the ostfront and kanalfront, as well as Israeli strategy during her years of war, were taken into consideration and it all helped to stir up some military knowledge. The Macabees were among the best generals known to man, and they had never lost a war in their entire history - the Empire could prove it; some 6,200,000 sq. km. of Nazi territory had been fully annexed, 200,000 sq. km. of Tortugan Island; and much much more.

Several data bursts would be sent to allies including: Dr_Twist, Whittier, Zossen, Greater Deutschland and others. The more aid, the better... if just those countries helped the Macabees a total of over 11 billion people would be on the side of the Zarbian government. It was a beautiful thought.

[Missile Attack on Zarbian Resistance Forces .::. In and Around the Capital]

OOC: Do you have a map of Zarbia by any chance?

Also, starting July 28th I'll be gone until August 25th - so most likely unless you pull off some sort of genius defense I can only fight for about five or six days more.

I may be able to get on in Spain - but I'm not sure - I don't have a laptop, and my uncle doesn't like me using his computer.

IC:

With the Zarbian commander storming out of the peace process the Macabees were quickly to start the war on their own - not wanting to wait for themselves to be hit before being able to respond.

Coordinates ot rebel held garissons in and around the capital of Zarbia were provided by high altitude reconaissance, as well as by Zarbian military officers around the areas, currently bottling them up. Consequently, these provided coordinates were punched into the guidance systems of the missiles and the missiles were readied.

Two hundred MAAM Ausf. B (Variant B) Cruise Missiles soon began their short, three minute, flight to their intended targets. Going at some Mach 3, using scramjet technology, they zoomed in, leaving a small smoke trace behind them. As explained before, they were armed with a 800kg OctaNitroCubane warhead, providing 25% more the strength than normal TNT, and much more strength than the currently employed Octagen in all other nations. These were programmed to hit Zarbian Resistance strong points and such - as well as Zarbian Resistance leadership, to decapitate them. A Macabee internal refurbishment project would force the Macabees to end all foreign deployments soon enough, but they could do enough damage to give the Zarbian government some chance in this war.

Re-supply was rather quick, as the Macabees were quite experienced. Missiles were shortly given to all ships which had already struck in preperation of the next missile attack.

Now that Tyrandis forces had left the area, Zarbia City had been bringing in supplies by the truckload. With President Trotzig away in RomeW, his most trusted officials were in charge. As the hours passed by, they finally received word that a huge Macabee naval force had positioned itself near their shores. At first they questioned what the ships were doing there, but they soon heard from the Macabee commander himself.

"We are once again in a state of war, my comrades. We are going to need more supplies. Bring them into the city, and give the order to begin evacuation of all civilians."

Secret IC:

In the darkness of space, one lone satellite from the Tyrandis network passed over the lands of Zarbia, taking photographs of the fascists as they built up their forces...

Tyrandis Central Command, classified location

Tyrandis's highest general staff was assembled to deal with the Zarbian crisis. What began as a simple Special Forces operation was quickly escalating into a full-scale war, and the satellite recon from the RAVEN system confirmed Tyrandis's suspicions of Macabee treachery...

After the briefing by 1st Lieutenant James Woodson, the last Pathfinder out of Zarbia, the meeting began.

"As you can see, esteemed Generals," said Praetor Conrad Davidson, "the situation is as follows: The Macabees have decided to destroy peace negotiations again like they did with the first war. Our course of action will be decided at the end of this meeting."

"We must redeploy Special Forces to the area, and cut off their supply lines. When their million men run out of ammunition and food, they will die." offered General Ayumi Hamasaki, leader of Tyrandis's SOCOM division.

"Not an option," countered General Faye Wong, head of the Tyrandis Ground Forces. "If you noticed, they have a million men at their disposal. In our previous engagements with them, our Special Operations Forces could not overcome their sheer numerical superiority. We must engage in all out warfare."

"We cannot. Analysis by TNIA has indicated that in a full-scale war, we would only have a 30% probability of success. The Macabees simply have too many men and too many guns."

"Then what can we do?" snarled Faye, "Allow the reinstatement of the Zarbian Fascists?"

"Ladies, please!" interrupted General Casimir Sandoval, head of the newly formed Tyrandis Orbital Warfare division. "It is clear that we cannot stop them with brute force. I have a proposal."

"Let us use our Rods from God against the capital. Once the leadership falls," he made a cutting motion across his throat, "so will the army. As our satellite recon shows, the civilian population has been evacuated."

"Cut off the head and the body will follow." smiled the Praetor. "Excellent. But first, we must knock out the Macabee intelligence gathering capabilities. Order our anti-satellite platforms in orbit to target Macabee satellites around the Zarbian area. Begin the attack against Zarbia City at 0200 hours tomorrow. I want those Macabee satellites shot out of the sky immediately."

Orbit of Earth, Tyrandis Orbital Weapons Division satellite SRI-90210

The Strategic Reconnaisance Interdiction initiative was almost defeated in the Senate, until last minute lobbying by the Defense industries pushed it through.

Nysia Armories CEO Daniel Anderson was certainly pleased at the massive amount of business SRI brought to his company.

Finally, after a decade's worth of research, development, and testing, the satellites would be used for the first time in a warzone...

The operators on ground at Central Command directed the orbital probes at known Macabee satellite positions.

The Tyrandisan counter-intel platform read the IFF and heat signatures from the Macabee spy satellites near Zarbia.

It was a perfect match. The kill order from Gen. Sandoval was confirmed, and forty-eight Seraphim-class interdiction missiles flew from the launcher, all headed to intercept the Macabee satellites...

OOC: I have only a few orbital strike platforms capable of destroying targets on the ground established in space, but it does take some time to resupply them, considering that I need to schedule shuttle runs to deliver the warheads. Ditto with the counter-satellite stations.

OOC: Tyrandis you do notice that in order for a satelite to work, in accordance to the degree the NationStates earth is tilted, the country would have to be positions over wherever the "equator" was in order to take such detailed pictures - all in accordance to what time of the year it was... you can't just take pictures of every damn thing on the earth ... a sattelite doesn't always work.

Also, btw, I don't have ground troops actually deployed in Tyrandis yet. Their inside, protected by the ASW perimeter. I don't actually have ports to land the greater part of them with any effectiveness.

OOC: Psss..now I see the map and I notice how easy it is to destroy this uprising... yea, there will be no rebels left by the time Tyrandis or anybody else deploys... these rebels are smoke.

Also; I forgot - sixteen sattelites downed by Tyrandi..to be rebuilt the month I'm away... no biggie.

IC:

[Zarbian Provence of Zerrechia]

Six low flying MMA-D1 Reconaissance Aircraft, which had a photograph altitude of thirty thousand feet, touched down on six seperate aircraft carriers and taxied to the end; there an elevator took them below. They had taken photographs of rebel positions in Zerrechia, and had pinpointed infantry groups, and small villages in the area. The Macabees didn't really care if those were civilians or militia - as long as the rebels were devastated. The enemies had been offered a chance to a Zarbian constitution, but now, they would face their nightmare, a burning Zerrechia. All of the Macabee's firepower would smash this rebellion, and brutally end this uprising in southern Zarbia.

The Zarbian rebels had no real SAM sites, and anything they had was quickly pelted with a combination of one hundred MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles and twenty Legionatus I missiles - the former with a 800kg OctaNitroCubane warhead, and the latter with a dual 200kt OctaNitroCubane warhead.

Then, eight hundred Kondor air superiority fighters took off in close succession putting a tight air perimeter around the provence while the entire force of two hundred Albatrosse Heavy Bombers cruised at thirty thousand feet towards their targets. This could be considered a war crime - but did the Macabees care?

They carpet bombed entire villages, and larger towns (or cities, or w/e) with OctaNitroCubane warheads - consequently, promising that nobody who lives there would survive to see the following day. It was a scary thought, to be caught by the enemy - and possibly executed - for these killings, as the bombs fell, one after the other.

Some Kondors having fun got in close, and with their Avengers strafed Zarbia militia columns, barracks, and groups, killing whatever they could get - Second World War style. It was an awsome display of airpower.

The Macabeen government has authorized the transfer of six hundred quadriple barraled Sa-5 Surface to Air Missile batteries to protect against enemy airforce incursions at 128 kilometers distance. In accordance some six thousand Sa-5s will be making their way to Zarbia before the dormancy period, while during the period their will be a constant stream of supplies into Zarbia.

Additionally, three hundred Praetorian IV patriots will be installed around the Zarbian capita, along with twelve thousand Praetorian IVs to protect against enemy missile launches on the capital.

Hundreds of thousands of guns, rifles, and panzershrecks will find their way to the Zarbian military. As well as Pz. IX Sargons, with their 3,000 mm RHA armor (RHA meaning - that's what it is, however, with technology it's actually around 280mm acting as 3,000mms..hard to explain).

Dozens of Kondors and Albatrosses will also be sold for lower prices to the Zarbian government. This is all just a minor spectrum in the armament exportation to the fledging Zarbian fascist government.

Commence Operation Linebacker....

Yes sir!

The deep sea transports sent their men over the side into the hovercraft transports. Overhead the noise of F-18/N's was deafening. The four carriers were launching them as fast as possible. Soon 100,000 Zossonian troops would be on the beaches of Zarbia. As soon as the beach head was secured the transports could be brought closer in to unload the Leapord III's. The brass believed the landings would go smooth with little opposition.

Secret War IC:

From Targul Frumos, although stirring problems, greater fleets are heading to Zarbia bringing full force to:

17 Battleships
17 Aircraft Carriers (1500 Kondors, 200 Albatrosse Bombers)
8 Escort Carriers (240 Kondors)
6 Pocket Battleships
60 Type II Nuclear Submarines (nuclear propulsion)
60 Type I Diesel Submarines (for ASW purposes)
80 Patrol Boats
120 Missile Boats
40 Cruisers
40 Destroyers
40 Frigates
200 Assorted Other Ships

The largest naval deployment in the history of the Macabees... a large percentage of the navy.

Accordingly also mobilized and sent outside to wait in waters:

1st White Banner Army (coming from Dr_Twist)
2nd White Banner Army (coming from Dr_Twist)
3rd White Banner Army
4th White Banner Army
5th White Banner Army

(1,000,000 million infantry; 15,000 tanks; ca. 2,500 SP Artillery; 100,000 155mm Fixed Guns; + a lot more)

That was just for reference.

[Southern Zerrechia]

Four hours after the first bombing run on Zerrechia the same aircraft took off for their second mission over the rebellious provence. However, this time their support would remain tactical. Providing a tight airscreen the eight hundred Kondors swept the air; armed with A-11 Archer Air to Air Missiles they were deadly foes, and they had proved that they could play war as well as any other aircraft, or better. They had proved superior to the F-18 and Eurofighter Jetfighters in many wargames, as well as missions, and they were one of the fastest modern jet aircraft available to the Macabee army. Flying at some ten thousand feet they were unafraid of Zarbian Resistance SAMs, since they had none - and it provided a very close look. The two hundred Albatrosse Heavy Bombers came in close behind and using targeting guiding systems hit various Zarbian Resistance positions along the coast line with over two hundred MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles.

While the bombardment was still going on the 1st and 2nd Infantry Division, as well as the 1st Armored Division - 40,000 Infantry and 500 tanks - made their way towards the coast in armored LCIs and LCVPs. The Macabee army was among the most skilled army on the field, as they had shown time and time again - never losing a battle - and the armored force kept up along with the times. The Panzerkampfwaggen IX Sargon was a steady tank. It had been upgraded since the one that Artitsa and the Macabees had made (Artitsa made a new tank entirely) and it now equipped 3000mm RHA frontal armor, and it didn't get below 2,000mm RHA in other areas. It's 120mm ETC main gun could punch through over 4,000mm RHA armor, with it's 120mm scramjet round hitting the enemy at Mach 6.

So, by the time the bombardment, and the fighter net was establised over Zerrechia's skies, the landing was underway. The battleships had gotten closer to the coast, at 100km distance, and opened up with larger MSLR systems firing from the main guns. 400mm rockets spat out of the guns at Mach 6, saturating the coastline with phenomenal power. Some four thousand of these rockets were fired in total.

When that ended the landings began. A and B company of the 1st Infantry Division landed first, hitting the beaches side by side, and keeping constant firepower ahead. A squad of Panzerkampfwaggen VIII Nebuchadnezzar's, the medium tank, landed with them to give them support. Beside these soldiers, C and D company landed, along with ten Sargons. To their right flank E and F companies also landed, along with G, H, I and J company. This was 1st battalion, 1st Regiment, 1st Mechanized Infantry Division. It would be the one to take the brunt if the Zarbian Resistance fought the landings.

OOC: Ok so basically, I need the resistance to reply to the following:

The 1st bombing run (which is on another post_
This bombing run
And I need to know if I'll receive resistance on the beaches after saturating the area with missiles and rockets.

Tyrandis Orbital Weapons Division HQ, classified location

Operation: Black Dawn

The words flew across every single staff member's monitor at the Tyrandis OWD.

Planned originally as a contingency weapon against any threat by foreign nations, the Strategic Strike Platforms were established as a deterrent to any foolish state that would attempt an invasion of the Tyrandis homeland.

Taking the brightest minds from RAND Corporation, the Tyrandis government spent twenty years developing the technology for the "Rods from God".

Utilizing pure kinetic force from twenty foot long Tungsten-alloy cylinders, tests conducted by the Tyrandis Armed Forces showed that the destructive capabilities of the orbital strike platforms were unlimited. Tyrandis could project awe-inspiring power against any target, anywhere in the world.

The system relied on two satellites: the Strategic Targeting Array and the launcher itself.

One full SSP unit was routed over Zarbia ever since the war began, as a contigency in case of disaster. No one wanted to use the weapons, as they would devastate everything, civilian and military alike.

But the fool Trotzig made the fatal mistake of evacuating the civilians.

The opening was fully exploited by General Sandoval.

"All SSP operators, report to your stations. Operation Black Dawn is underway. This is not a drill." he uttered over the building's intercom.

As the controllers on the ground scrambled for their computers, the STA already had the capital of Zarbia in it's sights. All the Tyrandisan ground emplacement had to do was relay the kill order.

Orbit of Earth, Tyrandis Orbital Weapons Division satellite SSP-2014

The STA system had a lock on the target: The capital of Zarbia. Previous recon from HUMINT and SATINT indicated that there would be no collateral damage even if the city was totally annihilated under the storm of rods.

A signal was relayed from the control center on the ground and the attack began.

The launcher satellite opened its ten tubes. The tungsten rods were ready...

And set upon the hapless city of Zarbia.

Moving at 36,000 feet per second, five hundred twenty five rods entered the atmosphere at hypersonic speeds. Fast enough to evade the Macabee S-500s, or any other counter-ballistic missile system for that matter, the rods were protected by thermal coating from burning up in the entry of Earth's atmosphere.

"Sir," reported an aide to General Sandoval, "Operation Black Dawn is in effect. ETA for Strategic Strike Platform to destroy Zarbia City is around 10 minutes."

The Zarbians would have no idea what hit them.

After several minutes of relative peace, the rods reached the city with full force. The 525 tungsten rods were aimed primarily at the Zarbian centers of government, infastructure, and areas with a large buildup of military forces.

The targets that the weapons hit were vaporized on impact. Nothing would remain except massive craters, according to Tyrandis battle damage estimates...

As the cheers of the satellite operators reverberated through the building, General Sandoval looked grim. "Quiet." he ordered. "I want another satellite rerouted over Zarbia for Battle Damage Assessment immediately."

The operators grumbled mildly, then turned to their duties.

Sandoval sighed. He had brought death to untold numbers of people, and would certainly be punished in the next life. Begging God for forgiveness, he set to thinking the next move Tyrandis would make in this war...

1. I don't know what's left of Zarbia in Zerrechia...I carpet bombed and strafed anything that was walking or living in Zerrechia with more aircraft that the Dresden bombing.

2. Let's keep this war modern. Anything modern, meaning up to 2010 tech., is going to be moving at a max rate of maybe Mach 30...which can be countered. Also, you can't evade at over Mach 1... if you try to turn the missile it'll disengrate in the air..so tought luck with the space attack.

IC:

[Tyrandis Bombings of Zarbian Capital]

The Tyrandians made one fatal mistake. That was to attack from the sky. Meaning that Praetorian IVs and S-500s would be able to simply take on these "uber" missiles head on, with extreme accuracy. If the Tyrandian missiles attempted to turn at this speed they would disintegrate in the air; that's why missiles armed with scramjet or ramjet were forced to follow a straight trek (however, these being "horizontal" missiles, are much harder to hit).

Not only this, but the Macabee operatives in the capital could simply equip their Metal Storm guns. A single Metal Storm gun could fire 36,000,000 fragmentary "grenades" a second thousands of meters into the air, stopping any missile cold. It had been invented by the Australians, originally, but now equipped by the Macabee Army. Basically, the Metal Storm guns created a net in the air, causing missiles to blow up prematurely. Thus, a total of thirty Metal Storm guns opened up on the Tyrandian missiles, causing them to run into several levels of grenade "nets" - six total.

On top of that, some seven hundred S-500s went into the air to counter anything that was left of the Tyrandian missiles.

To cause damage on top of wounds, in space, the long asleep Macabee Atmospheric Attack Systems was turned on once again. By pinpointing through trigonometry and telescopes the sites of Tyrandian sattelites Macabee attack sattelites which were hidden in deep space came foward at G27 and quickly pelted anything Tyrandian in space with over ten thousand MAAM Space Missiles (the original missile... the MAAM Ausf. B is a cruise missile based off the space missile, only altered to be fired on earth).

OOC: I'm going by the popular science article on the Rods. While the things can't evade, they can most certainly outrun your S-500s.

They aren't exactly missiles either since they use kinetic force.

I thought Metal Storm was a rapid-fire cannon that shot bullets, not a grenade launcher.

Aside from that, you never exactly had time to set up much defense in the capital considering that you just landed.

EDIT:

Also, what exactly is a MAAM Space Missile? A conventional anti-satellite unit?

OOC:

Metal Storm throws up grenade like fragments which spread in the air and cause the missile to blow up pre-emptively. I only really need five to counter your "rods".

If I could search on these damn forums I can give you the thread to the MAAM system. But since I can't this is off the top of my head - basically, there's a hundred small attack sattelited deep in space that rely on four main sattelites to give them coordinates - also masqueraded deep in space. When ordered to attack the sattelites get into orbit through a mixture of hydrogen and octagen engines and fire their missile hell onto earth - if left in deep space they can be told to fire missiles at other sattelites. They have an anti-missile and an anti-sabotage defense system and hold a total of 100,000 MAAM missiles. The MAAM missile in incredibly small, and propelled by Hydrogen, with an OctaNitroCubane warhead. It has a maximum velocity of Mach 27 and on earth can blow anything within a three mile radius into pulp.
Tyrandis
23-07-2004, 17:27
OOC: Like I said before... You couldn't have set up those things in time, considering that you just landed.

EDIT: Besides, the Rods aren't missiles. They have no explosive warhead.

All they are are 20 foot long tungsten-alloy rods that are shot from orbit at extreme speeds. Metal Storm would be totally ineffective.
The Macabees
23-07-2004, 17:32
OOC: If it has no explosive then where does the damage come in? It would simply hit the ground and throw a massive dust cloud, which would may impair vision and get the city dirty - but there would be no real damage.
Tyrandis
23-07-2004, 17:35
OOC: The damage comes from the kinetic force. It's the same principle as a bullet shot from a gun.

Bascially, the cylinders hit the target so fast, anything it hits is vaporized. It can't, and shouldn't be used against individual targets. Instead, I just hit major infastructure.

In other words, I can't use them to destroy armor or infantry directly, but I can hit buildings and command centers.

As the Macabees begin their first bomb run, many civilians are gunned down, as most rebel operatives have abandoned the coast and run for the capital, Zerrech (Original, eh?). The Resistance are mostly taking cover in the capital, but a large group with tanks are a few miles north of the city.

A wealthy banker opened his car door and got in, tired after a hard day's work in the Inner City. As he shut the door and fumbled for his key, he heard a loud rumbling noise. Confused, he opened the door of his car and looked out. A gurgling noise from his throat as he tried to speak but nothing came out.

The Tyrandis rods hit, and destruction was unleashed upon the Inner City. The banker's car exploded and shrapnel flew all over the street. The rods impacted with the main government buildings, windows shattering and walls crumbling.

Three miles away, a small Zarbian child playing with his toys on the ground felt the ground rumble beneath him and began to cry.

[The Fire Bombing of Zerrechia City]

Airforce commanders in Task Force Gargantuan were happy about the the first bombing runs - however, reconaissance proved that massive amounts of Resistance were fortifying the capital - named Zerrechia. This cold turn into a Berlin type battle, claiming the lives of dozens of thousands of Macabee soldiers. Thus, the complete leverate of the city was ordered, and the Macabee troops would make a joint offensive into the capital with Zossen.

It appears the the resistance has left the countryside for a safer haven inside the capital. I urge your men to advance faster and to besiege the city from the north, while my men besiege the city from the south. The blockade will proceed for RL 1 month and a half where we hope to starve or bombard the resistance to death. Civilian casualties are collateral damage - do not worry about them.

From the Aircraft Carriers two hundred Albatrosse Heavy Bombers, escorted by one thousand Kondor Air Superiority fighters, took off and made their way towards Zerrechia (the capital). They were in massive numbers, and bombardments such as these would destroy the city quickly and effectively. Military analysis pointed to a Zerrechia which no longer stood - tenfold as bad as the Dresden fire bombings.

Before the bombers made it to their bombing altitude, however, Task Force Gargantuan targeted any resistance SAM batteries (if you have any) - seen through high altitude reconaissance - with some one hundred and fifty MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles. These would make the bombing run much smoother.

Over the city the two hundred heavy bombers sent their 50,000 lbs of fire sticks down towards Zerrechia (the capital) - meaning a total of ten million pounds of Napalm were dropped on Zerrechia from an altitude of thirty thousand feet.

This meant that the entire city, most probably, from the center out, would be completely burnt to the ground. Secondary runs, made with Eagle Ground Attack aircraft, some fifty total, strafed the burning city with their 30mm anti-tank avengers and dropping 500lb bombs on fire fighters and such.

Outside the city, reconaissance had picked up a large concentration of Zarbian Resistance armour - completely open, and in huge numbers. Another fifty Eagle Ground Attack Aircraft, led by fifty MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles (hitting any anti-aircraft defenses you have around there), opened on the tank column with the 30mm Avenger guns (armor piercing) as well as with Mavericks and 500lb cluster bombs. They made several passes - around four - and then left back to their escort carriers.

A third run would soon follow... maybe the next day.

The Resistance force north of the city received distress signals from their allies in the city of Zerrechia. They would not make it, these Macabees were good fighters, and their napalm was powerful. The northern force moved quickly to the city, to try and see what they could do to the enemy.

As they moved, they were bombed by the Macabees, destroying a large part of their force.

"Sir," reported an operator to General Sandoval regarding BDA on the Zarbian City, "We have finally managed to route a satellite over Zarbia City."

"About damn time too," growled the General impatiently, "What took so long?"

"Macabee platforms destroyed the first two that we sent over."

"Understood," said Sandoval, somewhat mollified. "Now, how much damage did we inflict?"

"Current estimates from analysis of satellite recon have indicated complete sterlization of the Inner City. RFID transmissions from the rods indicate that in six, the thermal coating melted and caused the weapons to melt during entry of the atmosphere. Aside from that, two more were deflected by Macabee attempts to defend the city. All other rods reached their targets successfully.

Estimated collateral damage resides around 30 to 100 civilians caught in the SSP strike."

The general sighed. He had not expected any collateral damage whatsoever, but just as well, the leadership of Zarbia was decapitated.

"Excellent. Relay the information to the Praetor."

The news of the success of Operation Black Dawn was met with cheers at CENTCOM. After the elation subsided, Praetor Davidson issued orders for the next Tyrandisan attack in the war.

"TNIA operatives have already spread the word for our sleeper cells to activate in order to repel the Macabee invasion.

This is the perfect chance to strike. The confusion and chaos that General Sandoval created in his attack will trickle down to the lowliest private in the Zarbian military.

The war's conclusion will thus lay in their hands."

[Tyrandis activation of Resistance cells]

Before the peace talks, the Tyrandis SF entrenched in Zarbia began training members of the Zarbian Resistance in the art of Special Operations.

When the Green Berets were recalled for the disastrous truce, the 1,000 operatives that completed the demanding course were ordered to teach their fellows, in order to increase their ranks.

Given the title of Centurion, this Tyrandisan-influenced arm of the Resistance was funded directly by the Imperial Triumviate. Fanatically dedicated to the destruction of the fascist oppressor, the Centurions swore a blood oath to the cause.

Instead of basing their operations in Zerrechia, the Centurions infiltrated Zarbian society, as fascist supporters...

Today, however, they would join the fight for their freedom.

Vaen Romanov, one of the Centurions, was enlisted as a private in the Zarbian military. When he received the activation order from TNIA, he and the other four members of his cell met in their tent. Outwardly, the cell looked simply like a group of friends.

The secret nature of their collaboration, however, would be revealed...

Romanov and his fellows, having been called for an emergency meeting by theier commanding officer, found the chance to strike a blow against the fascists.

Arming a thermite grenade of Tyrandis make, Romanov threw the grenade into the packed briefing room. As the flames consumed the hapless Zarbian soldiers inside, the 5 men moved from tent to tent, gunning down the surprised Zarbian fighters.

However, this slaughter would be cut short when a guard sounded the alarms. Two of the Centurions were cut down in a hail of bullet fire. Romanov and the other two then blew themselves to pieces with a fragmentation grenade, killing a good number of fascist fighters.

---

Meanwhile, the activation of Centurion cells continued, all throughout Zarbia...

OOC: I am also going to post for the Resistance

As the Inner City burns, President Borin Trotzig is still on his way from RomeW, where the peace talks were a failure.

Resistance fighters trained by the Tyrandis forces worked all across the nation, causing death and destruction. Military camps, hospitals, banks, and other buildings suffered damage and casualties as the terrorists did their jobs.

Natalya Svetlan entered the Zerrechia (the capital) police station, her eyes moving to the score or so police officers. Her brothers were out in the city performing similar tasks, and her sister was on an assassination mission near city hall.
As a police officer approached her, she lifted up her shirt, revealing bombs strapped to her stomach. The office gasped and fumbled for his firearm, and that is when she detonated the explosives, killing everyone in the room.

[Southern Zerrechia :: Front Lines]

The Zarbian provence had already suffered three bombing runs, with hundreds of bombers, pulverizing most major towns and completely destroying Zerrechia the capital. Meaning, that anything the resistance still had would be in guerilla warfare in small towns not touched, or in forests or forested areas. However, the Macabees would have little problem with this since the planned form of attack would be broadfront, eradicating anything that moved or resisted. However, with the loss of the other one million men supplied by Zossen, the task would be considerably more difficult.

Nonetheless, the attack begun. One hundred thousand artillery guns, mostly 155mm, however, some 200mm, begun the barrage at 0200 hours in the morning. The style of the barrage was rolling fire, meaning everything within 60km of the front lines that moved would be destroyed - or wounded, or almost hit, whatever. The boom of the guns could be heard from over two hundred kilometers away, and the navy men looked along with gleam as they saw the night sky painted by streaks of red and blue, with occasional orange. With each salvo the noise created a beat to the muzzle flash. It was quite beautiful. The artillery barrage continued for about fifteen minutes, where in fact it ended then and there.

Following the aritllery barrage the first echelon divisions begun their breakthrough attacks, hittting the Zerrechian front lines. A total of six infantry divisions, one hundred and twenty thousand infantry men, and three armoured divisions, one thousand five hundred tanks, went into the primary attack, to breakthrough the Zerrechian army. The plan was to hit several weak points, allowing the Macabees too break through and then flood through and completely cut off and sorround the Zerrechian army. If successful, Zerrechia would be left without a conventional army, meaning that the main rebellion was over, and the rest would just be a quick mop up of partisan forces. If it failed it would still mean that considerable tracks of land would be taken for Zarbia and the Macabees, and the Macabees would be poised to sorround the rubble of the capital. In any case, the war would soon be over.

The breakthrough operations were aided by a total of five hundred Panzerwerfers. The Panzerwerfers had a twenty tube launch panel of 300mm rockets, firing all twenty rockets in sixteen seconds. The Panzerwerfers gave strategical artillery support against high concentrations of Zerrechian resistance, and against strong points.

It would be almost impossible for the Zerrechians to stand up to such a torrent and the Macabees expected an easy victory.

[In the air]

A fourth airwave was scheduled for launch also. At 0230 hours six hundred Kondors went up into the air and circled the fleet until a total of two hundred Albatrosses could get into the air. Keeping a tight air perimeter of 40km around the Albatrosses they head inland towards centers of Zerrechian resistance. All still existing Zerrechian strongpoints behind the front lines were targeted by volleys of MAAM Ausf. B Cruise Missiles. Petroleum supplies and food stockpiles were also targeted, as well as field hospitals to kill the wounded scheduled to go back and fight. Since Zerrechia lacked any existing SAM batteries they would find it hard to survive the increasingly heavy air attacks.

"Roger that Six-Two, all pilots, engage the package."

With the power of an AS-5 SAM the missile screamed towards their Tyrandian victims.

The sun is leaking through the dark, and smoke filled air from still burning buildings in the city of Zarbia. Some Macabian soldiers are sleeping, while others are prepping for a days worth of operations and patrols. The guard on duty sees several dim flashes on the horizon, only moments later the early warning radars picked up several hundred missiles incoming. The sirens are wailing and soldiers are scrambling for cover. Screams drowned out by the enourmous explosions targeting base camps around the city. The dead and dying are everywhere. Officers are scrambling to find out what is going on around them, soldiers being killed rushing to cover - it is chaos. Macabees soldiers have suffered terrible casualties. Just as the barrage ends the soldiers are searching for surviors, several more brilliant flashes are seen on the horizon. A fleet of 32 Imperial Fate and Honor battleships have fired a total of 10 rounds out of their 20-Inch guns. The barrage follows up the cruise missile barrage striking around the same areas targeted by the cruise missiles.

Shortly after this massive barrage of firepower the Imperial Fate and Honor War Ministry contacts the nation of Tyrandis to organize and all out land and air offensive against the Macabees and awaits his reply.

RADAR installations set up all over Macabee occupied Zarbia picked up incoming Vampires at high speeds. Hundreds of small blips filled the black screen on the RADAR systems and the RADAR man notified SAM batteries all over the nation. It seemed that the attacking missiles were cruise missiles or ICBMs of some kind. Most probably ICBMs since they were fired from an extremely long distance. However, ICBMs were slow, so they were shot down with SAM Praetorian IVs. The Praetorian IV was an S-400 with enhanced vectoring and thrust enhancing accuracy.

With Zarbia again in a very fickle state of peace the Macabee military is re-deploying back home, and rumors of some kind of demobilization have spread. In fire bases all around Zarbia it is expected that three Macabee divisions, meaning sixty thousand men, as well as an armoured corps, one thousand five hundred tanks of all kinds, and Macabeen RADAR, as well as SONAR, is to stay in Zarbia to defend the nation from further attack. Some sixty new MMA-A2 Hawk Air Superiority Fighters, as well as thirty MMA-A1 Kondors are to also defend Zarbia, and have been ordered to shoot down any Tyrandian AWACs set up anew over Zarbia. A major intelligence effort is taking place to locate exact presence of Tyrandian fleet and army areas in order to preempt invasions of Zarbia. Task Force Gargantuan plans to stay in Zarbian harbors as a new Spanish naval base.

In Zerrechia, massive man hunts for every living thing in the provence is taking place. It is expected that the four thousand Macabee soldiers allocated to the hunt missions will eradicate every last living thing in the upstart provence withing four (RP time) months. The bombing did most of the job. Any weapons found will be confiscated and destroyed.

The Macabee government, furthermore, warns Tyrandis of possible RWC intervention if Tyrandis decided to further attack Zarbia. The Macabees will not hesitate to destroy Tyrandia sattelites, and will not hesitate to help the RWC is the reduction of Tyrandis, should the RWC decide that this is necessary. The soldiers that had been guarding the capital rush into the inner city, searching for anything that still lived. The Tyrandis attack had practically destroyed everything and left an enormous crater in the center of the city. The Zarbian parliamentary buildings were nowhere to be seen. Concrete and scraps of metal littered the entire area, with a charred corpse or two scattered here and there.

A young soldier knelt beside a mangled body, his eyes full of tears. This is war, he thought. What a terrible thing, and such a waste of life. This is all wrong, this should have never happened.

A soldier of higher rank caught up to him and put his hand on the young one's shoulder.

"Don't you worry boy, we will find whoever did this and they will pay with blood."

The young soldier pulled his pistol out of its holster. "No! I refuse to be a part of this murder." He put the gun to his head and fired. His body slumped over from it's kneeling position and hit the ground.

Operation: SHADOWSABRE
2000 hrs, AWACS crash location

"Quiet," whispered the pilot of the downed E-2E to his fellows as a Macabee patrol of two soldiers came rumbling by on the road.

Pistol in hand, he crept up in the darkness and put a silenced bullet into the skull of one, while a radar operator knifed the other sentry in the throat.

Radio messages from CENTCOM ordered the men to head towards the coast, where a Pathfinder team would extract them. Unfortunately, the recent manhunts by Macabee soldiers were difficult to avoid, to say the least.

However, they managed to ambush and destroy a few patrols, at the loss of four men. Three were killed by a grenade, one more from wounds suffered from the parachute drop.

Finally, they reached the coastlines, where two Zodiac PT boats brought by the Pathfinders took the downed crewmen back to the TSN Marietta, a transport Ekranoplan that infiltrated Zarbian waters with help from the few Resistance operatives that were left.

Of course, the Zarbian navy still patrolled the coasts, and something had to be done about that...

---

0100 hrs, Escape Route

The road home was blocked by some two destroyers of the Zarbian navy. While the Marietta could outrun them easily enough (OOC: Ekranoplans run at around 400 mph max speed), they would undoubtedly warn the Macabee air force. To dislodge them, the stealth bomber launched several hours ago from Firehawk AFB readied its payload...

An infared laser from the Nighthawk guided the newest weapon in the Tyrandis arsenal, an airlaunched stun missile.

When the magnesium warhead ignited, a huge flash erupted, turning night into day. The intense light would certainly cause the men aboard those ships to be blinded, long enough for the escape to take place.

Running the gauntlet, the TSN Marietta returned home, with the Pathfinder team and surviving crew.

Both sides of this conflict have honored our neutrality agreement to the point of not fighting amongst eash other when meeting at our hospital locations to deliver wounded or pick up their treated.
We have heard that the invaders have left this nation due to other conflicts in there scope oof vision their for we will assume that the flow of patients will slowly decrease from this point forward.
