(OOC: For those of you who were following my transition from dictatorship to democracy this is a speed up version of it. I really want this over with so I am doing it now. First I will do Prime Minister and then the Parliament!)
Nellisland News Network A.K.A. NNN
“Hello everybody and welcome to the coverage of the very first Prime Minister Elections in Nellisland! I am George Kerry here with my partner in crime John Bush!”
“Thank you George and as all of you viewers this as been a terrible time for Nellisland but know things are cooling down.”
“Yes it is John. Yes it is! Now to explain how these elections will happen here is my good friend Howard Clark.”
The screen splits and you see John on the left side and Clark on the right. “Thank you George. The election preceding are not all that complicated. Nellisland had been split into twenty-four states and one capital that is run like a state. While the names of the states are still in debate right now, the boundaries have been set and they have been numbered 1-24. Now voting starts in about one hour and will continue until eight o’clock tomorrow (OOC:…or whenever I feel like it!). Everyone sixteen and older can vote. They will find places to vote in schools, post offices, or any government run place. A state is won by having the majority vote and the candidate with the most states wins. A better system will be determined in the future by the elected Parliament.”
The screen goes back to George and John and John says, “Thank you Howard! Now I think people want to hear about there candidates, right. So here is John Dean!”
The screen splits again and Dean appears, “Thanks John. Hey! Two Johns. Ok the first person is no stranger to Nellisland! He is the son of the former dictator and the man who lead Nellisland through these though times…Mike Nellis! He is the favorite to win this bout because he is well trusted. He intends to rebuild the military, set up the schools, make strong ties with foreign nations, and rebuild the nation/government!”
“Nice!” says Bush
“Yes and the challenger is none other than Joe Royers. He is the former leader of the Jews for Nellisland. They formed after the government fell apart. He at one time had many followers but his creditability has been challenged by his followers. He has devoted most of his time to arguing that he is a real Rabbi and had not talked about the issues much! All we really know is that he wants to have a secular nation.”
The screens goes back! “Thank you John!” said Kerry. “Now we are going to go back to our scheduled program until the election is over!”
