A new Hogsweatian Constitution is being proposed. This is a post-revolution thread.
Constitution
1.) The king/queen/monarch is the presiding authority. If any laws are passed without the king/queen/monarch’s content, then all breakings of said law are void.
1.)B The king/queen/monarch must be reffered to first before any steps are taken, such as declarations of war etc etc.
1.)C Should the king/queen/monarch wish to make national politics their business, any declarations of war etc etc must be followed through by the prime minister.
1.)D The king/queen/monarch must act within the best interests of the state, however. To make sure so, a parliament will be elected. The parliament, the house of lords, consists of two hundred and fifty one members. These members are put to a vote every time the king/queen/monarch makes a decision. If the king/queen/monarch’s decision is voted against by a majority of the parliament, than the action cannot be carried through.
1.)E The only power the king/queen/monarch does not have is to dismiss parliament.
2.)Also, any laws wishing to be passed by the king/queen/monarch must be voted on by the house of lords.
3.)Should the king/queen/monarch be removed from the throne, by method violent or non violent, by a person not of the royal family, that person is to be executed.
3.)A Should a king/queen/monarch die, their next of kin, as labelled in their will shall take the throne.
4.)If a person torches the Hogsweatian ensign, sets alight to a Hogsweatian flag, they shall be subject to execution.
5.)A The prime minister is elected in a general election every four years. A prime minister can be elected as many times as possible.
5.)B The nation is to be divided up into twenty-one counties. Each county has an elected MC, (member of the commons), voted on every four years. The MC represents the county in the House of Commons.
5.)C The House of Commons are taken to vote for the following:
Introducing new laws
Trials
Anything to do with a county
5.)D If an MC or a Lord in the House of Lords is seen to be acting against the well being of the country, they are subject, after a trial, to dismission from the House of Commons, or the House of Lords.
6.)Everybody in the nation is subject to a fair trial.
7.) Immigrants inside the nation, that have moved without money are given a loan of 50,000 Pound Sterling
7.) A The loan must be paid back in ten years or the immigrants can face deportation.
8.) Illegal Immigrants are deported from the nation if found.
9.) A citizen must only be allowed to own a weapon if they have the proper licenses and a good mental/criminal record.
10.)A The maximum jail sentence is 80 years. There is no minimum.
11.)B The death penalty is only applicable for some crimes. Murder is not one of them.
12.) Persons of Hogsweat are allowed to vote at the age of 20.
12,)B Immigrants are only allowed to vote after being in the nation for ten years.
12.)C Everbody is allowed a vote – race and gender to not play a part.
13.) Persons of Hogsweat must attend state schools from ages 4 until 16.
