The Republic of Austar Union: Foriegn Policy
Stance on Imperialism: Essencially, the Union has a negative stance on imperialism when it means taking control of a lands or terrirtory via force, to increase the current holdings of territory.
Stance on Terrorism: As always, the Union has a negative stance toward terrorism in most forms, unless when its based on the guerilla style of tactics, rather than targeting civillians as most expect of a terrorist group. We will hold a negative view of all nations found and proved to be supporting and/or harbouring terrorism.
Stance on War Convensions: The Union has a strategy which is based upon placing diplomatic pressure rather than military pressure as a form to convince nations to conceed. It is now recognised that war is simply an extension of diplomacy, and will not hesitate to also apply military pressure to any nations who it may be deemed nessasary.
The Union is also against the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction as a whole, to use as a first strike weapon. It is believe that all conventional means ought to be exhausted before resorting to all types of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Nuclear Weapons are to be considered as last resort only, or in reply to a nuclear attack.
The Union is also a strong believer in the rights of its enemies, including the rights included in the Geneva Convension, and it is standard practise to keep to such humanitarian documentation, such as this example, and the Rules of Engagement.
Stance of the Use of Military Resource: The Union will not refrain from using military resource to achieve its goals. Previously, the military was seen as a last resort strategy, however it shall now be seen as a tool up there with official diplomatic efforts.
Stance on International Cooporation: The Union, as always believes in a system of International Cooporation, and will not refrain from promoting such activity. In fact, such activity will be encouraged, as the Union will be a strong supporter of this idea.
Stance on Other Governing Methods: The Union recognises all governing methods as a valid type of method, and will refuse to ignore the validility of such methods. Of course, it is not a belief that persecution of citizens is a valid method of governing.
Stance on Communist or Socialist Economies: The Union respects all forms of economy as it has a strong belief that all methods of economy have equal right to exist, as does the one which the Austar Union adopts.
