In a response to a slow news week, the Senate has passed the "Freedom from Moronic Music Act" in a unanimous vote, a proposal designed to eliminate what Executor Xavier Davidson calls "a growing threat against the youth of our nation."

Under the terms of the Act, all music that "encourages any violation of Tyrandis law, encourages listeners to 'rise up against corporations' or encourages stupid behavior in general" will be banned. All musicians who have been involved in the creation of such materials will be executed.

The Tyrandis Police Department's SWAT unit has already arrested several hundred artists found in violation of the Act, and all have been sent to the firing squads.

Several famous figures, such as members of Rage against the Machine, were included in the purge, although their corpses could not be identified from the deluge of bodies in the execution center.

Public protest against the initiative has been minimal.

Freedom of speech is a basic human right - and yet, you deny this. Any country of this nature is condemned by Lethislavania.

Why do you strip back the rights of the people? Music is a form of protest which every person should have the right to do.

The Roycelandian Government has had legislation banning Rap, Hip-Hop, RnB, Teeny Bopper, and Boy Band music for quite some time.

Whilst Roycelandia cannot condone the Death Penalty, we applaud the stance taken by your Government to prevent Unacceptable Music from encouraging Scumminess, Stupidity, and Other Bad Things.

Many people in Roycelandia have argued that the Prohibited Music Act breaches the civil right to Free Speech- an argument that has been rejected by the Courts on several occaisons.

Furthermore, Article I of the Imperial Roycelandian Constitution ("It's Good To Be The King") allows the Emperor to do whatever the hell he (or she) likes- including banning Music that is deemed "Unacceptable."

Perhaps execution was a bit much, though... why not just deport them?

Yibok has had a simple solution to the problems posed by rap, hip hop and emo music. We have purged all records of such music existing, destroyed any evidence, and former artists have been...rehabilitated...into useful jobs that serve the community.

However we have decided to keep pop music going, produced by computer synths, and with human puppets for live appearences, as we find that the cult of celebrity is an excellent way of keeping the Proles in line.

The dangerous ground comes with the punks, as these people are often free-thinkers, and so we licence punk-rock bars to serve cheaper alcohols, so as to ensure the punks are kept too drunk to pose a threat.

The Empire of Luxembourgistan congratulates Tyrandis on their actions, and adds that it is currently going through a purge of such "music" similar to that being implemented by Yibok.

Tyrandis thanks all nations that support this action.

In other news, all members of the band "Anti-Flag" were arrested by SWAT units. They were executed later today by firing squad.

Their last words, according to the secretary present at the execution, were, "Your bullets of capitalist oppression will never har-ARGRAH!!!!" Evidently, the shooters decided to aim for their throats so they would not have to listen to Anti-Flag's wails of stupidity. The shooters were given a token cash reward.

Currently, rapper "Snoop Dogg" is awaiting death at the hands of the gallows.

Thanks to our rich and firmly established culture, dating back thousands of years, which our citizens strongly connect to, such .. blasphemy, if you will, has never taken any notable hold.

However...we would like to suggest the possibility that just maybe, you're going a little off the deep end on this?

Today, rapper "Snoop Dogg" met death at the executioner's rope. His last words were unintelligible, but it is not understood whether this was caused by the hypoxia or just his own idiocy.

Now that the "hip-hop" and anti-capitalist bands/musicians have been purged from Tyrandis, mass arrests of "emos", "goths" and other losers have begun. Already, the crying lackwits are being rounded up into execution chambers.

Musicians are free to come to procco. Upgraded to refugee status.

Ah...the wonders of...viewing things from a different perspective...on the other hand, if you kill them, there are plenty of things that many nations can do, such as wipe your nation off the face of the earth.

However, in my factfile (which I don't have, I'm just working off the 2MB of RAM in my head) Zoogiedom has looked upon Tyrandis with respect and as an ally in the past. Either that or you may have purchased from a storefront and appeared trustworthy :P

Although we see the routine slaying of musicians as...utterly not right...we can't say we feel overly griefed at the loss of ... sNo0p Doggggggggggg, or however he spells his name now.

While we are generally opposed to the suppression of speach and thoughts in all forms it may take, we understand your dilemma and your thoughts on how best to fix it. Fortunately for the Imperium, citizens rather dislike mindless rap and artificial-sounding pop, atlhough there is a decently large punk following, punk music in the Imperium tends to be rather more tasteful than the music of such horrid bands as Anti-Flag.

Following the advice of Scandavian States, Tyrandis police have arrested the man known as "50 Cent". He was killed by a SWAT officer as he begged for his life.

The officer was issued a monetary reward and a citation for excellent police work.
