OOC: Profiles of Sarzonian leaders

Sarzonia

If this should be in a different forum, feel free to move it. But I figure this will give you some context into Sarzonia (and give you a handy, dandy guide to some of the names I'll be throwing around). This won't be everybody I use, but these are some of the common ones.

President Mike Sarzo: Founded the Incorporated States of Sarzonia on 22 March 2004. Perhaps could be better suited to the title of Senior Vice President for External Affairs and is considering becoming an ambassador upon his retirement from the Gray House.

Senior Vice President for Internal Affairs Nicole Lewis: Took over for Dave Forrest when he turned 70 and retired. Previously served as Sarzo's chief of staff. A long-time friend of Sarzo's, she has his ear anytime.

Senior Vice President for External Affairs Mark Lorber: Despite his usual reticence with words, is a fine diplomat. Keeps abreast of all military and economic situations in Sarzonia and abroad. Has a knack for quickly picking up customs of foreign leaders and foreign ministers.

Vice President for Defense John Newman: He assumed the job of VP-D when Terrence Wilson was fired for being abusive toward former Deputy Vice President for Defense Jeremy Goss. Newman has taken to his new job fairly well and has shown an ability to quickly grasp the logistics of coordinating all four branches of the military.

Vice President for Budget and Finance Carol Weinberg: She's the one who crunches the numbers for Sarzonia. Growing economic waste makes her position a tenuous one.

Vice President for Health and Athletics Jimmy Marshall: Spearheaded the establishment of the Sarzonian Football Confederation and is widely credited for the national team's surprising success on the pitch. Naming his younger brother Bryan the national team's coach raised some eyebrows, but the team's performance dispelled any nepotism calls.

Vice President for Business and Commerce Janis Hedge: Her main responsibility is to ensure that companies follow national and international rules and regulations. She works closely with Carol Weinberg on monetary matters.

Army Chief Hal Luxton: Just confirmed by the House of Delegates; the army has had limited action in foreign wars, so he is trying to figure out ways to train them for combat.

Army Consultant General Antonius Santius: He has extensive influence in the Army that belies his job title. Newly arrived from the nation of Sanctaphrax, this General was searching for a job due to an indiscretion with someone from Serafima. He has presided over a dramatic increase in weapons acquisition and major improvements in training for the Sarzonian army.

Navy Chief Kathy Bunhall: Was promoted to Navy Chief with the promotion of Newman to Vice President for Defense. She pays closer attention to detail than Newman did, while he tended to focus on the big picture. She has instituted a new rule where Rear Admirals command Fleets.

Air Force Chief Bill Lighton: Fairly recently named chief, is charged with improving a small air force to land it on an equal footing with the Navy and Army. Helped to spearhead establishment of the Space Force.

Space Force Chief Thaddeus "Tad" McGuire: Just named to the new post, showed a surprising grasp of potential faster than light travel technologies in meetings with the Metallinauts. His top assistant, Admiral Marc Casey just completed an interservice transfer from his position as Director of the Army Corps of Engineers and a promotion from the rank of Lt. General.

where's my ex-soldier?

[OOC: I need to update it. It'd been a LONG Time since it was updated.

BTW, what is his full name? I'll need it when I add him.]

President: Mike Sarzo (me, obviously)
Senior Vice President for Internal Affairs: Nicole Lewis (my friend Nicole)
Senior Vice President for External Affairs: Mark Lorber (a composite of my father's partner and his younger nephew)
Vice President for Defense: John Newman (a friend of mine who has the same name but it's spelled differently)
Vice President for Budget and Finance: Carol Weinberg (no one in particular)
Vice President for Health and Athletics: Jimmy Marshall (Note it's Jimmy, not James) (no one in particular)
Vice President for Science and Technology: Tracy Obenga (a friend named Tracy was the reason I picked the first name, but that's all)
Vice President for Transportation: June May (two of my former school bus drivers)
Vice President for Employment Services: Arthur Trautwig (no one in particular)
Vice President for Business and Commerce: Janis Hedge (no one in particular, but the spelling is inspired by Janis Joplin)
Vice President for Naval Operations: Kathy Bunhall (no one in particular)
Attorney General: Jonathan Cochrane (Johnnie Cochran)
Army Chief: Antonius Santius (this character was originally introduced by Sanctaphrax
Air Force Chief: Bill Lighton (no one in particular)
Space Force Chief: Tad McGuire (no one in particular)
Intelligence Chief: Jamie Stone (one of my friends from a student newspaper I used to work at. She was the paper's gossip dispenser.)
Press Secretary: Heather Lloyd (one of my other former newspaper colleagues)
Executive Secretary to the President: Becky Davis (actually, one of my former supervisors. She reverted to her maiden name but the character has her married name)
Speaker of the House of Delegates: Josh Williams (one of my friends and a potential future politician. There to provide the liberal angle)
President Pro Tempore of the Senate: Karen Beltran (no one in particular)

[OOC: Thanks R-B!]

Some other principal characters in my RPs:

Admiral Marcus Patinkin: Not based on anyone IRL. He's sort of the military extension of me in a way. Fairly cautious, tends to think of everything.
Commodore Barbara Tucker: The managing director of the Portland Iron Works isn't really based on anyone IRL, though the success of her company may make her the female military equivalent of Bill Gates.
Coach Dave Wilson: The head coach of the Sarzonian national football (OOC: soccer for those of you who use that term) team isn't based on any RL coaches. He's pretty jovial except in the rare occasions when his team plays poorly.
Coach Bryan Marshall: (He's dead IC). I based his character on Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs (fairly paranoid, always worrying about his team being able to match up and always praising the opponent, meanwhile his team goes in and can beat the best teams in the world).

Just a suggestion, but how about age, hobbies, former occupations, marital status, religion, etc. for the leaders? It's a great thread, though.

I've got a lot of stuff rattling around my brain so I'll work on that when I get a chance. I've got a lot of stuff to work on for my storefronts though, so those projects are a little bit higher in my NS priority list. But thanks for the feedback though! :)
