The Confederate States of New Colerica are a recently created nation made up of five Colerican states that have seceded from the United Empire. Secession is illegal in the United Empire. For reference, here is a map:

The Confederates are a direct threat to the security of the United Empire. The Colerican Secession Crisis threatens to bring civil war to the United Empire. Something we are trying our hardest to prevent. Do you want to see bloodshed as a result of this inncident? Innocent Colericans dying?

Mr. Garner, I asssure that the United Empire has no plans on attacking your nation. Greivious consequences are not limited to military action.

Again, we implore you to cease all negotiations with the Confederacy. If you must hear the CSNC's side of the story, so be it, but we assure that whatever they will tell you is nothing but anti-UEC propaganda. They're treasonous secessionists who seek to bring an end to the United Empire. They must be stopped at all costs. Think of the lives, Mr. Garner. If your nation grants recognition to the CSNC, it only serves to embolden the hot-head secessionists. If your nation grants recognition to the CSNC, this little incident may lead to blood being spilled in Colerica. The CSNC has been waiting for international recognition. Such recognition gives them faith in their illegal, immoral, and treasonous cause. If your nation grants them recognition, the blood of innocent Colericans may be on your hands.

OOC: Okay, here's the scoop. The Confederacy is a group of (so-far) five states that have seceded from my nation. I'm a major history buff, and my favorite part of all history is the American Civil War. Thusly, I'm trying my hardest to set that historical setting into a NationStates setting. In the run-up to the ACW (and all through-out the war), the Union tried everything they could to prevent the CSA from achieving international recognition. Recognition from other nations meant military aid to the Confederacy and it meant that the USA could no longer state the Confederacy wasn't a real nation.

In this situation, my nation [the UEC], is trying their hardest to prevent the CSNC from achieving international recognition/support.
