OOC: You might wanna note that this is the puppet account of the Austar Union, and the time up till the "Independance" has been roleplayed, including the colinisation of the area by Austarian Settlers etc.

Also, here is a map of the area, the Austar Union claim being Belecus:

Today, on Monday 19th July, 2004, was a proud day for all the people living in the colonies. Today, all the colonies would unite to make an independant state. Although this would make the area seperate from the Austarian Homeland, it was still answerable to the government back in Europe.

Peter Jackson signed the document, making him the first Premier of Belecus. He was directly answerable to the President of the Austar Union, who held the overwhelming power, despite the fact that it was now a protectorate.

Signing the Protectorate Charter, a cheer came from outside. Jackson City, being the largest city of the new province, was chosen as the capital of the new area.

Already, Peter Jackson had plans for the new province, but first, he would begin to contact colonies from around the continent.

Seeing as the Austarian Government recognizes this new state, the Commonwealth of McQuaide desires to extend official diplomatic recognition to Belecus, and to make the following offer:

1) Exchange of embassy facilities. The government of Belecus will be provided with one of our four-story, spacious and modern embassy facilities in our capital's 'Embassy Row'. These buildings, buit six years ago on the banks of the Liffey river, are equipped with the modern communications and security systems that modern diplomatic missions demand. We will also offer a similar, but smaller, consular facility in our inland industrial and agricultural city of Novy Tiblisi.

2) Nation in Good Standing trade status. Reduced or eliminated tarriffs, extended rights to Belecus corporations within Commonwealth borders.

3) Military non-aggression treaty. This can, upon a period of negotiation, result in a mutual defense pact.

4) Cultural exchange. Citizens of Belecus shall be welcomed in McQuaide universities, hospitals, and other facilities, enjoying the same rights as McQuaide citizens. In case of legal trouble, Belecus citizens can be extradicted to Belecus Courts, on the condition that similar rights be extended in the trial process.

Although new, we would like to accept your diplomatic hand of friendship. We thank the government and people of McQuaide for their recognition, and we offer the same points right back to them, in a show of goodwill.
