Jordaxia wont be online for a while so iam going to post this for him. Essentialy its an rp we have made so enjoy. More pots will come when Jordaxia is back online. This rp is closed as it takes place over the course of only half an hour approx. The Shivan nation Jordaxia is fighting is SPARTEN. cant post as that nation due to jolts refusal to issue me confirmation e-mails.

JORDAXIA POST

Kuiper Belt. Governors office.

The orbitals latticework extended out towards the heavens, light flashes everywhere as the welding teams added another frame to the monolithic structure. 2 Nonsequitors had left to patrol the far reaches of the Oort cloud, leaving behind a small trail of dust and micrometeors, which eventually drifted to nothingness. Only someone that had been watching for weeks would have known of the patrol routes of the Nonsequitors. The smaller welding units were busy guiding in asteroids, manoeuvred by refitted pregnancy test classes, with cargo holds full of ore brought in from mining colonies throughout the system. The shipyards were filled to capacity with empty Nonsequitor hulls, though there was a single shipyard that had a far larger design interned, only the frontal hull protruded from the giant domes. The recent scare aboard asteroid 42b was fading from everyones memory. The gravity test grounds, a sphere of emptiness, were being prepared for the insertion of another Gridsphere into a Nonsequitor class. Trivial pursuits were docked inside Pluto, safe from harm from meteors, stray comets, or a clumsy pilot, unused to a welding, or lifting suit/ship. The orbitals top surface, or its bottom, depending on perspective, was being carved out in anticipation of the plate builders, who had come to lay geographical features on its barren surface. Essentially, it was the ultimate average day, which came as a surprise to Kuiper belt governor (insert name here).

The primitive appearance of the colonial governor’s office belied the true technology behind the walls, and into the core of every asteroid. Industrial humming of the cooling systems, seeming so out of place when the sun looked just like any other star in the sky, was not something that impressed the governor greatly. The techs couldn’t decide whether they wanted the place to feel like Siberia or the Sahara, and seemed incapable of opting for Earth average. It had been so long since contact with Earth had been broken, already established colonies breaking away to find riches in the cosmos. So far they had only found rocks. Not for long, the governor sighed. Soon, the galaxy would be their home, the oppressive grip of sol long forgotten. Escape had proven impossible; the furthest they had managed was to the edges of the Kuiper belt and the Oort cloud. Pregnancy tests had been sent to Alpha Centauri to establish homes on any sizeable, stable asteroids, and though the battleships went far further afield, becoming, in essence, the extension of Jordaxia amongst the stars before the colonies could grasp them, the feeling of being a major part of the galactic whole eluded them as a race. The orbital, when completed, would be a ready made colony, ready to place wherever it was needed. This was the core of Jordaxian focus. When building the orbital, the people were gathered together to advance themselves. This orbital was their long term payoff. This one was designed to build more orbitals, to fashion them from vast docking bays, to provide the Jordaxian Empire with reach. The ability to reach everywhere. Nevertheless, this was a project that would be completed long after his death. There was an entire belt for him to keep secure. He began with his morning brief with the Captains of the few ships Command sent. He only counted seven captains. Presumably the others had been recalled to be sent to the crisis occurring far nearer the core than he would ever see. As governor Isaacs entered the room, the Captains stood up, each shaking the governors hand, before sitting down on cheap fake leather sofas to discuss the security of the belt. The captains spokesman, a captain Samuel Thompson, leaned forward, placing some smudged transparent images taken of the Kuiper belt (section 12f), and where some recce probes should have been. Rather predictably, they were not.
These images were taken yesterday, sir, and we’re somewhat concerned. It isn’t that unusual for satellites to go missing inside the belt, even two disappearances aren’t uncommon. What we’re concerned about is the lack of debris round about where they should have disappeared. A normal asteroid collision would have left a lot of dust, metal, etc, drifting apart, easily spotted by another sat’, or by a security crew. Since nothing has been recovered, we are assuming a covert infiltration of the belt is underway. This particular portion has been known for considerable asteroid density, so whoever it is would be not expecting suspicion at the attempt. My advice is to bolster security around your office, and to shipyard 6, as well as welder suit/ship inspections, to ensure nobody is smuggling explosives to the orbital. The last thing we want is for it to go boom, especially at such a fragile stage in the construction.”
Governor Isaacs looked out of his grainy holomirror at the orbital, seeing the scaffold, imagining the devastation should it disperse throughout the belt, the destruction caused by so much random matter floating freely. He brought himself back from middle distance, and stared levelly at the Captain.
“Thank you for this information, I shall make sure it gets a priority position back to command.”
“Yes sir”
Isaacs leafed through a few papers on the clear table, too low down to be used comfortably. He hunched over the sheets, looking out the specific documents.
“Ah, here they are…” he mumbled to nobody in particular.
“Which of you is the Captain of the “Good Morning, Mr Wagner”?” He asked to the assembled captains.
“That would be me, sir”
A small frame leaned out from behind Samuels, by far the smallest of the group, yet seemingly unshakeable. The spacesuit dwarfed her, though it didn’t seem so. Isaacs was rather taken with her, though he didn’t say.
“And you are…..?” he asked, clumsily leafing through the papers, trying to find her name amongst the beauracracy.”
“Captain Sarah Forbes, sir” she said, whilst Samuel sat back down.
Isaacs made a show of finding the relevant paper, waving it at them foolishly.
“It says here that you have modified your original ship for use within denser sections of the belts. I believe you would be perfect as a more active arrangements for our security gap within that sector. Provisions will be made for you and your crew, supplies should last for months, and power shouldn’t be a problem. If you would, please make arrangements for your crew, cancelling leave, etc, immediately. This meeting is over, anyway.”
As the collected Captains stood, and exited the room, the governor was lost in thought, wondering what could be hidden in a belt where sensors were practically useless, and knocked out most of the time anyway.

The Striders proceeded over the vast walkways of the new complex, the asteroid labelled as Ketinth 4 was now almost hollowed out. The fighter depot was now complete and as far as the Shivans knew the base was still undetected. The Humans had sent numerous probes into the sector where they were subsequently displaced turning their molecules and atoms into harmless energy spread across the cosmos. Some scouting ships had detected enemy ship movements into this sector of the asteroid field, obviously they had stepped up construction of whatever they were building. However that was not the concern to the Hive mind. What was concerning was the Jordaxian shipyards which were now at full production churning out ships that seemed to negate the advantage of subspace shielding. The ESUS alliance was becoming a greater threat as their industrial output exceeded that of the Imperium, soon their ships would be able to cripple the alliance through sheer numbers alone. However that was not yet certain. The alliance did have the Shiva and the newly created Gargantuan class warships to strike them with, however with the numbers of enemies growing, and the number of allies shrinking this war would be a difficult one.

The formations of Dragon fighters danced around the colliding asteroids patrolling the newly created base as if it was the Shiva itself. The aggressive fighters swarmed in and out of the creators leaving nowhere un-scanned. The four patrolling fighters were about to leave and return to the asteroid when a large EM signature was detected heading in their general direction. The immediate detection was relayed back to command and all ships within the base were scrambled. Ships were being sent from subspace in an effort to contain this possible breech of security as well if needed the newly built Gargantuan was on standby. The now detected Jordaxian craft was on a direct heading towards the new Shivan depot where the last probe was displaced. The four Dragon fighters within range set an intercept heading to take out the intruding enemy craft.

The dragon fighters emerged from behind a small meteor and opened fire upon the now surprised vessel, starting with a barrage of hornet missiles the dragons releasing four each continued to close in on their prey.

Warning alarms exploded into the mind of Captain Forbes, as the neural implants from the ships computers pointed out the red trails the missiles made on the sensor map of the area, blueprints and schematics of the ship arranging themselves in her mind. She had the link to the fire control officer already up, and commanded the computer to organise priority targets. Weapon controls for the missile rails were released and the first batch of 6 hummingbird missiles slid into place. “Fire at the dragons through their missile swarms, order the hummingbirds to form a defensive screen on us, and expend all submunitions to bring down their missiles. The hummingbirds were released, spinning in the void for a few milliseconds as their targeting and guidance systems came online, before quickly pulling themselves between the Dragons missile salvos, and the Wagner. The Wagners main computer took over the missiles guidance so they would not impact on the hull. As the Shivan weapons approached increasingly quickly, the Hummingbirds were released from control, and accelerated towards the incoming targets.

“Missile Impact in 20 seconds Captain!” fire control officer Jameson cried out.
“Let’s hope the ‘Birds can deal with whatever’s heading our way, we didn’t get paid to take part in the Shivan war. The Mercenary ship began to align itself with the Jordaxian shipyards back in the inner Kuiper belt. They only needed a minute for the jump drives to come online, and 15 seconds for power to be gathered for the jump back to the yards. The Jordaxian commanders needed to know that the Shivans had located the shipyard, and that hostilities were imminent. She prepared a sensor bouy to send out a repeating message warning them of this and sending the location of the Shivan fighters, and the direction they had came from, should the Wagner be destroyed before it could escape. Back outside the hull, Captain Forbes was notified that the missiles were about to clash.
“Show me.” She vocalised at the computer, and the ship transferred the data flow from its optical sensors straight to Forbes mind. The missiles were only 10 kilometres away, from each other; they would be colliding in seconds. There was a flicker from the underside of each Hummingbird, indicating that the submunitions, small, spherical, kinetic rounds designed to intercept enemy missiles, were being launched, and guided into position. The resolution flickered as the Hummingbirds electronic warfare fields came up, attempting to block all guidance information the Shivan missiles may be receiving, or transmitting from each other. They should be blinded to the Wagner for now, but the EW fields were notoriously flaky, chances were they couldn’t completely hide the Wagner, just obscure it to make tracking difficult for the Shivans. Of course, now the Wagner couldn’t see the Shivans. A mixed blessing, Forbes thought. Another flight of Hummingbirds were prepared to strike at the Dragons themselves, and to intercept any remaining Shivan missiles in case they made it through. All they could do now was hope that they could make it back to inform the command forces in Kuiper, who were paying them considerably, as to the situation.

The Dragon fighters continued on their courses however now that they were in range the fighters began to jam the communications of the Jordaxian vessel, though their EW field was doing the job for them anyway. The initial salvo of Hornet missiles were intercepted by the enemies own missiles, which exploded with a violent eruption of shrapnel taking out all but four of the micro missiles, which then proceeded on course towards the Jordaxian ship. The dragon fighters keeping track of the now intermittent enemy ship as it flickered on and off of their sensors plotted their course and powered up their subspace drives for a small nano jump. The dragon fighters launched another salvo of Hornets then proceeded to emerge into subspace where they spent all of a millisecond before re-emerging on top of the enemy ship. The four dragon fighters descended out of the blue shimmer of a subspace rift and fired upon the enemies drive and communication systems with intent on disabling it, before they could warn their superiors.

The dragon fighters now viciously attacking the enemy were scheduled aid in their cause; 20km away another three wings of Dragon fighters and a wing of bombers could be detected moving in to destroy the enemy.

Meanwhile the Shivan command had decided that it was possible that the human base could be warned so the attack was brought forward to take effect immediately. The Shivan capital ships left the dockyards now fully under way, they powered up their subspace drives to begin the end of the threat to their technological superiority. The Shivan fleet moved in unison with the corvettes taking the point surrounding the Gargartuan as though they were some kind of protective bubble. Almost in unison the fleet disappeared into the blue shimmering portal.
