The Seeds of Rebellion
Occ: All of this stuff is supposed to be of little international concer at the moment, but it may or may not turn into an open RP. I havent decided yet. So at the moment just kinda leave occ thoughts or what not.
Ic: (Anti-Government rally, somewhere in the Golan Heights.)
Speaker: “The King has become ugh………
The speaker slumps over the podium, a knife protruding from his back. Suddenly out of the darkness a figure in a black cloak steps up to the podium and throws the now lifeless body onto the ground. The figure looks out to the speechless crowd, his bright red eyes glaring at every one of them. And in a calm, measured tone he begins to speak.
Figure: “That will be enough of that garbage. All of you want to see change, but none of you have the courage to initiate change. This is why I am here. I have the courage to initiate a change in this country. I will fix what his Royal Highness has broken; I will destroy the shackles that society puts on you, the working people. Fore you people are the backbone of the nation and the rich are the mouth. I am tired of seeing the backbone being pushed around by the mouth and I, Gomorrah Teliq, with the help of you, will shut the mouth up once and for all.
All I ask of you is to follow me. Follow me with all of your hearts and souls and I shall bring a new prominence to this nation and to its people that has not been seen before.”
Gomorrah stops as the crowd begins to murmur among themselves, when all of the sudden a man pulls out a gun and aims it at Gomorrah. The crowd around the man realizes what is happening and attacks the man, causing him to fire his weapon. The bullet flies through the air hitting Gomorrah in the shoulder. Gomorrah’s shoulder is thrown back by the force of the bullet, but he turns his shoulder so it would be square and begins to speak again.
Gomorrah: “It will take much more than a single bullet to silence my voice. I come to you people now and ask for your allegiance. If you will join my cause, please make your voices be heard throughout the Heights.”
Hundreds of people raised their hands and cheered in a defiant cry of allegiance. The cry continued throughout the night as they went back to their villages and began spreading the words that Gomorrah had just spoken.
(One week later, Royal Palace in Cairo….)
The King’s intelligence officers have just received a report from the Golan Heights, and Mr. Hassan, a high ranking official, walks into the King’s chambers.
Mr. Hassan: “Your Highness, I believe there is a problem in the Heights.”
King Mizraim: “Please Mr. Hassan, elaborate.”
Mr. Hassan: “Well sir, it seems that a new player has risen at a rally in the Golan Heights. He calls himself Gomorrah and has already gained support from at least three hundred people from the villages in the area. His supporters also killed one of our agents working undercover after he attempted assassinating Gomorrah.”
King Mizraim: “I see, and does this Gomorrah seem to be a large threat to me?”
Mr. Hassan: “Well, not at this moment sire, but if we leave him to let his following grow, he may become a force to be reckoned with. This is why I would recommend finding him now, and squashing his following.”
King Mizraim: “If he does not seem to be a great threat to my rule, then I will not waste money on hunting him down. Just see what you can find on him and put it in a file. I do not believe that his following will gain much strength once he tries to spread it southward.”
Mr. Hassan: “But sire, I really think…”
King Mizraim: “Silent! My word is final. Do you understand, or should I send for a new advisor?”
Mr. Hassan: “I am sorry my king. I will do as you wish.”
Mr. Hassan quickly walks out of the room and to his desk. “The king is a fool.” He thought to himself. “What he does not realize is that Gomorrah’s voice has already reached the working class of Cairo. And I do not wish to remain a part of the king’s foolishness.” With that Mr. Hassan pulls out a revolver and sticks it inside his mouth. With a scream he pulls the trigger, and everything goes black.
It has been a little over seven months, and the voice of Gomorrah has spread though out the lands of Canan. His words were also being heard throughout the military, and at the end of the seventh month, he had a large following in the military, including several officers. Meanwhile King Mizraim’s personal security had been compromised when several fanatic followers saw it their duty to attempt to assassinate the king. We find Gomorrah at a rally in a warehouse in southwest Canan about to speak to over one thousand members of his following, who call themselves The United Workers of Canan.
Gomorrah: “My followers, as most of you know, five of your fellow followers attempted to assassinate the king and failed to do so. I want you all to know that I do not condone such activities. These attacks only serve to soil our name. We will not use force unless it is the only option left available to us by the fool in Cairo.
Many of you would die for the cause, I know, but it is my hope that it will not come to that. I hope that we may rise to power through peaceful means. But if the king shall not I will have to use the full extent of my power to force him out of the capital.”
At that hundreds of soldiers enter the warehouse. Once the soldiers lined the four walls of the building the saluted Gomorrah.
Gomorrah: “As you can see, I have many powerful allies. But my power does not end at what you see here. I have gained the support from much of the military, and if the king decides to move on us, he shall find that we will not go down without a fight.
Now my followers go into the countryside and spread my word to all who will hear you.”
(An hour later in a meeting between Gomorrah and two other leaders of the UWC…)
Gomorrah: “The men we have recruited from the military will serve us well once we move against the king.”
Sodom: “Yes, but we should move quickly as the king will not stay blind to our group for much longer.”
Isaac: “I agree Gomorrah; we should move very soon, we already have the support from more than three fourths of the population. All we would have to do is run the king and his loyal followers out of the country and we will be catapulted into power.”
Gomorrah: “Yes, I have realized this as well. First we should incite a ‘peaceful protest’ against the king where the king’s men open fire into the protestors. Then we will have a cause that would unite the rest of the nation’s working class.”
Sodom: “An excellent idea. I believe our resources in the Royal Guard will come in handy for the protest.”
At that the three men get up from the table and walk outside, where three cars are waiting for them. Each man gets in a car and leaves in towards his own destination.
The protesters have been outside in the sweltering sun for over five hours, with the Royal Guard looking at them through the iron gate of the Royal Palace. There had been only small altercations between the protestors and the Royal Guard resulting in a few arrests. Gomorrah and a small group of men watched the protesters from the window of a twelve story building across the street. He watched intently as the protestors repeatedly swore at the guards and the king. A few hours later the tensions were begging to rise. Several people, under orders of Gomorrah, tried to incite a riot by starting small fires and flipping over one car.
When the tensions were highest Gomorrah ordered one of his men to start throwing rocks and bottles at the guards. The man started throwing whatever he could, yelling for the rest of the crowd to begin throwing rocks at the guards. One of the guards who knew what was happening was hit in the arm. He scanned the crowd to see who had thrown it. When he found the man he raised his gun and opened fire into the crowd. Hearing the gunshot many of the other guards opened fire. The commanding officer began shouting for them to hold their fire, but it was too late. The protestors who were not hit began running in hysteria. Others were lying on the ground screaming from their gunshot wounds, while others didn’t move or say anything. Gomorrah smiled and he and his men casually walked out of the building into a waiting SUV.
(Inside the S.U.V…..)
Isaac: “The plan worked perfectly Gomorrah.”
Sodom: “Yes, I believe we should act now while the anger among our people is high.”
Gomorrah: “No, we must wait until the King tries to calm ‘his people.’ There is no doubt in my mind that he will only make the situation worse, by putting the blame on someone else.”
(Later that night…)
News Reporter: “We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for this special news conference from inside the Royal Palace. And I believe that it has just started so we will take you to the palace now.”
Speaker: “Ladies and gentlemen, King Mizraim Calah III regrets that he is not able to speak with you tonight because of security issues. Therefore I will be representing the King tonight. The King has prepared a speech for me to use and I will begin to read that now.
People of Canan, as many of you know there was a deadly riot in front of the Royal Palace today resulting in six deaths. The use of deadly force by the Royal Guards was justified however. The protesters began throwing rocks and other items at the guards, who at the time, felt that their lives were being threatened.
To the families of the killed and injured, you have our deepest sympathy, and we hope that you make it through these tough times. There will be no questions at this time. Thank you and good night.”
Gomorrah looked out the window and smiled as he listened to the prepared speech. “Obviously these fools do not know how to perform any type of damage control,” he thought to himself. He turned himself away from the window so that he was facing his two most trusted friends. “Gentlemen,” he began, “today we have planted the seeds of rebellion in the Kingdom of Canan.” Isaac and Sodom began to smile while Gomorrah continued to speak. “However there is still much to be done. We must force the king out of the city soon, or else our plans may be discovered. “Sodom, how long until our forces are within range of the city?”
“No more than a couple hours,” Sodom answered, “I believe the city defenses should begin mobilizing within the hour though.”
“Very good,” Gomorrah replied obviously pleased, “Isaac, are you sure that we have enough followers in the Royal Guard to keep the King and his family inside until our forces reach the city?”
Isaac replied, “I am certain of it sir, we have over fifty members inside the palace at this moment, and we have at least another thirty that are off duty.”
“Very well, give the order to the guards inside the palace to begin Operation Checkmate. But tell them that the King and his family should not be harmed at this time. Use whatever force necessary on anyone who tries to get in the way. Also send the off duty guards to the palace to assist the others,” Gomorrah ordered.
“Yes sir,” Isaac said as he jumped from his chair, nearly tipping the table over.
“Sodom, tell our forces to surround the city, make sure no one gets in or out,” Gomorrah said.
“It will be done sir, but will we not need any military presence inside the city?” Sodom replied.
“No,” Gomorrah said, “I have already taken care of that problem.” With that a man dressed in a long black cloak stepped out of the shadows. “This, my friends, is Anorak, leader of my special police force, The Black Capes.”
Sodom and Isaac stared at the new man and began to speak, but before they could get a word out Anorak began to speak. “Gentlemen, I know what you are about to say, and I must reply that I am not here to steal any of your thunder, I am just here to provide the protection of the new order. You think that I am not needed, but I must tell you that without my Black Capes, your plan would have been figured out long ago. You must realize that my troopers have tracked down and killed fourteen government spies that were inside the organization. Plus, without my troopers, your plan would not succeed.” Anorak casually walks over to a large screen with a projector facing it. When he turns the projector on a map of the city with the key military positions highlighted appears. “This, my friends, is a map of every key military installation in and around the city. As we speak my troopers are systematically over running the installations marked in blue. The ones that are marked in orange are being watched, and the ones in yellow will be left alone for now. So as you can see without my men this plan wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell.”
The two men looked at Gomorrah who looked at them and sternly said to them, “Don’t you two have jobs to do?”
“Yes sir,” the two said, almost in unison.
Gomorrah turned back towards the window and began humming an old bar song. “Sir,” Anorak spoke, “should I have those two followed?”
“Yes, but make sure they do not suspect anything.” Gomorrah replied, “Now leave me; I need to be left alone.”
“Yes sir,” Anorak replied. He saluted Gomorrah and quickly spun around and exited the room.
The King was suddenly awoken by several large thuds outside of his door. He sat up right just as the door flew open and three of his Royal Guards entered the room.
“What is going on out there?” The king demanded as the three guards cleared the room.
“You are not to leave your room or you will be shot,” one of the guards said while searching a closet.
“Well why not?” The king demanded.
“Because sir,” the guard replied, “you are not in charge anymore. You have no power any more.”
“You must be joking,” the king said, obviously stunned, “who are you working for?”
“We take orders from the great Gomorrah,” another guard answered, “now shut up and make yourself comfortable, you will be meeting Gomorrah as soon as the city is secured.
The king doesn’t say anything. He just stares at the wall in disbelief of what was happening. “I must have some allies left,” he thought to himself, “yes I know who I can count on to help me, Mr. Hassan. He has always been loyal to me. No, wait, Hassan is dead; he committed suicide almost a year ago.” The king could only wait until Gomorrah came.
(Two hours later….)
“The city has been secured sir, it looks like we have won,” Anorak reported to Gomorrah.
“Very good, prepare my car, I have an appointment with the king to keep,” Gomorrah replied with a slight smirk on his face.
As Gomorrah entered the doorway of the king’s chamber, he dismisses the guards and proceeds to enter the room.
“Ah, my king, how are you doing on this fair night?” Gomorrah asked in a taunting voice.
The king only looked up at his captor, not speaking, not blinking, only waiting for his fate to draw ever closer.
“Am I not worthy to hear your voice? Am I below you still?” Gomorrah asked.
The king still silent slowly lowers his head into his hands.
“Answer me when I am speaking to you,” Gomorrah yelled at the king. “Speak you ignorant fool!” With that Gomorrah pulled out his pistol and raised it to the king’s temple. “Either you will speak to me, or you will die.”
The king slowly raised his head once again, and looked straight into Gomorrah’s eyes. Gomorrah seeing this smiles, and pulls the trigger, spreading the kings brains over the bed sheets. The queen begins to scream, as Gomorrah whispers into one of the guard’s ears. The guard smiles and walks into the room, and raises his gun and begins to empty his clip into the old woman’s body. Throughout the entire city, the nation’s nobles were being executed by the members of the Royal Guard and the Black Capes.
The next morning Gomorrah begins taping a message that would be played all day long for the next three days.
“People of Canan, this is Gomorrah, liberator of the people. I am speaking to you from the Royal Palace in Cairo to tell you that the king and his family have been driven out of the country by forces, loyal to my cause. I am telling you this because I feel that you, the working class of Canan, should know. This message is also a plea to the people throughout the nation to rise against your enslavers. Drive them out of the country as I have done with the royalty of the nation. May God be with you all.”
Through out the country workers began rising against their territorial governors. By the end of the day many of the territorial governors had been either killed or driven into exile.
Occ: This was just a way to switch my government from a monarchy to a socialist dictatorship. Just so ya’ll would know.
