"Let's face it, we're all so rich even people on Welfare use $10 notes to light cigars with." His Majesty said earlier today. "What's the point in taxing you, the good people of the Roycelandian Empire, when the money is going to end up coming back to you in some form or another anyway? We make so much money from Arms Dealing, Automobile Manufacturing, and so on that we can more than afford to provide Universal Free Healthcare and Free Tertiary Education."
Income Taxes have also been decreased by 5% across the board, but Corporate Taxes have been increased by 7.5% to compensate.
"Large Companies can afford it, and since it's illegal for them to try and move somewhere cheaper, there isn't much they can do about it anyway. More importantly, The Government owns a lot of the Large Companies anyway, so all we're really doing is increasing our own profits. Everyone wins!"
The Abolition of Sales Taxes has been welcomed by almost everyone, with a few Conspiracy Theorists labelling it as a "Blatant Attempt to buy popularity", citing a similar Tax Reduction after the botched invasion of Madagascar a few years ago...
