RNN News Report
______________
"Today, the streets with the City of Rose were alive today with the monthly parade. This parade was different of course, this parade showcased the Island of Rose's nuclear capability."
Cut to cheering crowds on the sidewalks, police and fences trying to keep them off the street. ICBMs are driven across the streets, around fifty escorted by T-90 tanks. In front are over 100,000 soldiers, marching in ceremonial Rosian uniforms, bearing their T-89 rifles high and proud. Behind the ICBMs are RF-1s flying over head, doing stunts and the like. Behind them are RHB-1s (B-52s) that slowly fly, bearing the Rosian insignia. The cheering stop as the President talks from his Villa's balcony.
"Today, we shall no longer be bullied by these rogue nations! We shall not hide behind our allies! Today, we shall take a stand to those that threaten the peace and stability of our world!"
The cheers grow louder then they were ever before, some trying to rush to the President to hug him, but they were stopped by police.
"Today, it is a new era for the Island of Rose! We shall remain free, we shall remain an example to the world! We shall not let them crush our rights! We shall continue the Revolution, no matter what the cost!"
The cheers grew even louder, almost to the point of a riot, the President calms the down with the gesture of his hands.
"I hope, that the Rose's allies will aid me. I tell the world that this is not a threat, but a detterant. We wish peace and if we must aquire nuclear weapons for peace, we shall. Good day."
The Rosians scatter back into their home, murmoring about the recent events. Cut to the RNN News Report.
"Well, we don't know what will happen now, only God will aid us. Good night and bless us all."
OOC: Basically I'm just making it official. And by rogue I mean n00bs =/
Welcome to the club, if you'd like, we could help you construct bunkers to house ICBMs in...

Ah, another human state has taken it upon themselves to go around irradiating the planet. Isolationists we may be, but we have to live with the global effects of your idiocy. Our energy barrier can absorb the impact of nuclear warheads, but none of our technology can prevent a nuclear winter, and this is the path you lead yourselves down. Ghargonia would call for total nuclear weapon abolition by every nation, but given the savage nature of your species we understand this to be an insane prospect at best. But know this; we are running out of patience.

Are you going to attack humans for using nukes.

OOC: You're better off not making any more right now and spending money on a good defence system. Sinking a couple of trillion into the defence of a nation your size should give you a good start.. Maybe have a few observational defence sattelites as well as radar so you can spot misiles in several ways...
Thats a much better plan.
You dont want to use nukes, as either your up against someone who isnt worth wasting them on, or someone who is a threat tp you but has defences.
There might be a few exceptions to this, but most paranoid/defensive antions build defenses pretty quickly (either they get nuked or learn from others)

Not really. Our species just has a few years on yours. We are taking refuge here, we have no interest in fighting any of you. We're just surprised none of you seem to have realised the cumulative -- and damaging -- effect nuclear weapon detonation has on the entire planet. What is the point in destroying your enemy if there is nothing left to claim as a reward anyway?

OOC: Quite simple, it's a game! We can't destroy the world.
IC: Yes the TIOR already has a defence system in place. We have AA systems on the coast and satellites up in space, this is just a continuation of our plan.

Who say's you need a reward the thrill of battle and the utter destruction of your enemy is reward enough.

Praetonia congratulates our Rosian allies on their entry to the Halls of the Nuclear Powers. We are willing to provide you with state of the art nuclear submarines to house your deterrant. They are considerably cheaper and harder to destroy that fixed siloes.

Unfortunately for you, United Sith, Ghargonia raises an interesting point. The habit of the human race [homo sapiens] to constantly bicker with one another and destroy one another, is the thing that stops the human race becoming one huge super-power.
Oh, and by the way, any attack on Ghargonia will recieve our severe, um, displeasure.

Other than this is going off topic, what would we ever gain from being one huge superpower? Generally it is being different that gives us some sense of identity and drives us to do outstounding things. War drives progress. Do you think we would live in the same world that we do now is WWI and WWII never happened? WWI got women the vote among other huge social changes (in England anyway) and WWII drove the development of the computer. War is not all bad, (being very controversial here) the second Gulf War, despite the arguments about reasons for going, did remove Saddam Hussein, a genocidal maniac, from power. This can only be a good thing.
Wow that turned out longer than I thought it would.

Actually it would turn into an uncontrolable beaurocratic mess with a central government unable to represent anyone. The individual would be lost among billions. The only way it could work is to make local government 'factions' which have autonomy, but are 'suppusedly' accountable to a central body. Hmm.... factions... countries.... central body nations are 'supposedly' accountable to.... UN
You see it's a nice idea but it will never work.
ooc: And with no war, imagine how many people there would be in the world. Then imagine how much food there would be. Then I suggest you think about natural selection, and war is actually humanities way of progressing and also contolling population - however horrible that might seem.

By purchasing Phalanx Class SSBNs to house your nuclear deterrant you will be dependant on your own resources. You will be able to repair, refit and mantain the ships yourself, and they will not become outdated for several generations. These ships are also not a great expense considering they provide your nuclear deterrant with almost complete safety and flexibility.

I always seem to end up fighting a shitload of smaller communist nations in a war, so I might as well take no chances.
Thats our Johnistan. And how come you never tell me when this is happening, Bisons and I can be there in an instant to help out

Our sentiments exactly (except this change- "You leave me [and my allies] alone...").
Nuclear power causes so much hostility that Doomduckistan doesn't bother mentioning it to the world that we may or may not have nuclear power. Much easier on everyone. Of course, all of that Uranium Mining and Nuclear Power Plants we have are for power. Really.
Congratulations on joining the other nuclear powers.
