Interngate and Chen
President Chen has been accused of sexual harrassment by an intern working for him in the Presidential Palace.

Wong Fei, 22, started at the Presidential Palace as an intern nine months ago. "At first, I thought he was just joking around," she says, tearfully. "But after a while it got serious and he wouldn't stop touching me even after I told him to."

Other interns at the Presidential Palace support her story. "The President is a bit of a skirt chaser." an anonymous female intern said. There have been other stories, unsubstantiated, about Chen's actions in the past.

The scandal is expected to severely damage Chen's chances of re-election in the upcoming election. Zhang Fu Guo of the United China Party, or "General Zhang" has campaigned vigorously in Chen's strongholds. With the election just months away, Chen has just destroyed his chances.

Zhang sworn in as President
Zhang Fu Guo was officially sworn in as President today in a ceremony in Taipei.

Zhang Fu Guo and his running mate Chiang Zhong Zheng were sworn in as President and Vice President in a ceremony attended by United China Party members and many high ranking military officers. Outgoing President Chen Shui Bian congratulated Zhang on his victory and wished him good luck.

The United China Party took power in last month's elections in a landslide, winning over many of Chen's Democratic Progressive Party strongholds and capturing 40% of the vote and forming a coalition government with the KMT.

News have predicted a visit to Taiwan by the president, Wu as Taiwanese and Xiannese friendship escalates to a popular level. The upcoming elections for the Chinese Regional Government has left Yeh busy, and such visits will be underminded.

Port Yuko Times excerpt:

Massive military deployment to Maropian Coast

The Riksdag has just given permission for the deplyment of nearly 5 million Bonstocknian troops to positions in Maropian Coast.

At least forty Army divisions, 120 Fighter Wings, and perhaps 24 Carrier Battle Groups, including harbor support, are earmarked for deployment.

This is in part to stem threats of a Sinoese-Taiwanese union, which the military says would be a major hazard to Bonstocknian interests in the Far East.

"We will not let the island of Taiwan fall to Chinese rule," a military official ws quoted on condition of anonymity.

"By maintaining a strong defensive posture, we will be averting any Sinoese threats to our security."

Strong critisizm of the planned deployment quickly grew in the Riksdag, saying the deployment will increase regional tensions and perhaps lead to war.

In the meantime, the entire Maropian Defense Corps, consisting of nearly 150 straight leg infantry divisions, is being moblized for the defense of Maropian Coast. The MDC consists of nearly 20 million conscripts, but their equipment is considered light and outdated. Most of the Corps is motorized, not mechanized like comparable Bonstocknian divisions, and air defense is mostly provided by JAS-39 Gripen As, which are good fighters but may be outdated compared to their Sinoese and _Taiwanese counterparts.

Moreover, the Maropian Defense Corps has almost nothing of a navy to speak of, save a few submarines and patrol craft. Plans are on the line for such initiatives as sending older Bonstocknian ships, like Draken/Yamato class battleships, Arleigh Burke destroyers, and Los Angelas class submarines to augment the relativly weak Maropian Defense Navy.

According to intelligence reports, Sino is prepared to deploy a large number of carriers and amphibious forces to invade Maropian Coast. Old shore defenses, relics of the Great Bonstocknian Civil War, are being reactivated, manned by Maropian divisions with Maropian guns, to defend against this threat.

Meanwhile, the crisis continues to fume. Sino appears bent on reuiniting _Taiwan to the mainland, and on perhaps invading Maropian Coast. "Whatever happens, one thing is clear," President Burns was quoted as saying, "We will not relinquish Maropian Coast or any of _Taiwan to this threat."

Hudecia Post- Bonstock Readies for War!

In response to the planned deployment of Bonstockian troops to the Maropian Coast, the government of Hudecia has mobilized its regular army and has begun mobilization procedures for its naval forces.

Admiral Smetka was reported to have had his 2 month vacation cut short and has returned to Ottawa to receive new orders and to officially take command of the naval task force due to be deployed to the Pacific area.

Commander Reid in Tokyo was reminding reporters that the actions by Hudecia are only a precautionary measure to prevent Bonstockian expansionist interests.

"Begin deployment for Operation Yum Char. At once, Admiral." Gen. Liu ordered Admiral Sun of the 3rd Fleet. "Time is critical. We'll take nearly a week to get there."

"We'll do, Sir. Funny name you've chosen for this operation."

"Sun, I have a cultural sense. Now let's make this a walk in the park." Liu hangs up, knowing that he'll sleep better at night.

0230 Hours

Troubled by the concern for a guaranteed victory and lives of many of his nation's young men, Liu orders two other carrier groups to be deployed. The conflict in Xinjiang is drawing to a close with the Daylami swansong of many of its occupational troops and citizens being roasted in the flames of napalm. Airbornes from within China will have to be readied for a rapid response.

The spring coil is tightening and soon it will all be loose on the day when the sh*t hits the fan, the day that makes or breaks Gen. Liu's credibility in Taipei.

OOC:tock, if this turns out to be a conflict, this would be a 4th!-_-

The Prime Minister Yeh and President Wu has arrived in Taipei for a 5 day state visit to Taiwan. One of the priorities during this visit is about opening up an International base where Xiannese Naval and Ground forces may stock and load.

On the other hand, millitary technology is also needed and to feed the Xiannese growth and economy, which had grew powerful and strong this past year. Plans have been made to encourage a buying program between the Taiwanese and Xiannese, a similiar trade pact is being offered to the Government in Sino.

There has been a recent demand for more funding on the defense and technology department.

The Hudecian government is sorry but it must agree with the Bonstockian government. While we may disagree vehemently with their aims and goals we believe that the only route to ultimate peace in the region is for all nations to agree to maintain the status quo.

A reconstruction effort of Xinjiang has begun with supervision and security from the Army. Investors, although few in number have arrived with the most urgently needed infrastructural plans. Some idle soldiers have volunteered to help the locals, Uighur or Han alike.

Given the nature of past relations between Spyr and Hudecia, which show it to be a staunchly unimperialist power with a record of assisting areas in need of post-conflict reconstruction, and Sino's apparent efforts to promote cooperation and rebuilding, Spyr urges both sides to achieve a cooperative arrangement for the administration of Xinjiang until a permanent government system is adopted.

Hudecia considers the past actions of Sino in Xinjiang to be ample proof of their genocidal tendecies. As long as Sino continues to murder former Daylami soldiers and citizens, Hudecia will continue to blockade roads, airstrips and rail lines.
