Beset with danger

It was a very cloudy day, and it even rained sometimes. A breeze was blowing the last few tourists out of the city. It was September already but it was colder than other years. Passenger liners came in and left for various destinations eager to leave the city behind before the storm clouds came in from the north-east.

In the harbor district of Theohuanacu, a shabby looking man was walking nervously, waiting for someone or something. His suit was dirty and his shoes were also several years old. From time to time he walked into the harbor masters office to ask something or to light a cigarette. This was his daily routine for more than a week.

All of a sudden, everybody at the docks were working hard to receive a very special cargo. The man who waited for the ship knew about it for more than a week and when he walked into the harbor masters office the answer was finally:
Yes, the Red Storm Star is due today
It was about time... I've been waiting for it for ages. Anyway, who's the captain, I need to talk to him.
A certain Captain Garnett. Never seen him before. Its a special transport from Huzen Hagen. Some kind of government order, I don't care what it is but policemen are walking in and out the whole damn day. It must be something.
Oh yes it is.
The man in the cheap, dirty suit walked out of the office. When he stood outside, the wind immeadiately whipped his face and rain fell down from the sky. He walked to a cargobay he rent and inside a group of men was playing cards.
Ok guys the package is in.
Are we going to take it now? As seen by our payment its going to be damn risky. Am I right?
If I wanted it now I wouldn't pay you and your men $900.000. Trying to steal it here under the eye of nearly the whole policeforce would be stupid.
What are we going to do then, or what is it what we're going to take?
First of all, this isn't a normal shipment. The government ordered something from Huzen Hagen in absolute secrecy. It's some kind of plan for a set-up and I want to know the exact contents of it.
That's pretty vague... Got any more info about that? I'd like to know what I steal.
I don't know the details of it but I promise you, certain people won't be happy with it.
Who?
Austar Union for example.
Hahaha? Are you serious? What can a bum like you do to piss them off?
You don't understand. What we're going to take is thought out by our secret service and Huzen Hagen secret service. It has to be valuable, otherwise the police wouldn't hire 3 security firms and scrambled 5000 cops from different districts for a normal plan.
True... But I still doubt we can do something to make them angry...

The man who the shabby man spoke to, stood up and walked to a window. He knew all too well that the person who hired him knows exactly what's the plan about. When he thought of it, this was their second meeting and he didn't even knew the guys name.

Excuse me mister, but what's your name?
My name? I'm George Costinack.
WHAT? Thé Mr Costinack who copied millions of Credonian banknotes?
Yep, that's me.
Why... who or what happened to your plan? Some time ago all the money was found and rumours went that you've been killed by Credonian special agents...
Well the government stopped everything before we could spread it. I don't know why. Ask them in Sirens of Titans... Oh and if you do, you're likely to get shot on the firing squad. This operation never happened in their eyes.
Ah... I see... Well at least I know you can do something to make the Austar Union pissed. If anyone can do it, than it's you.

To be continued...

Panooly City, A few days later...

Mr Costinack followed the transport with alarm as he saw how his target moved from secure place to an even more secure and guarded one. It was quite obvious the package got top priority since some major intercontinental flights were cancelled for it. When Mr Costinack arranged a meeting with Albert DuPont, the assassin of the former British Communists president the group of mercenaries knew it was going to be difficult.

Very difficult in fact, when the 2 criminals noticed how the transport ended in Cassady & Locke Banking and Trust Ltd. The most heavily protected banking corporation in the world and possibly the most wealthiest.
From that point Mr Costinack knew the situation was a bit problematic since neither he or his colleague had the skills to find and obtain the item there.

Mr DuPont went to the place were the thugs lived and spoke to them about this problem.

Okay guys, we have a small problem.
What is it? There's nothing we can't handle. Right boys?
The group of man started laughing in a hysterical way caused buy the booze. But you could see all the men were nervous, in their eyes a small sign of bitterness could be seen, perhaps even desperation about what was going to be said.
Well, I think this one is far beyond us. They stashed or objective in the best bank in the world.
Which one my dear friend?
Cassady & Locke Banking and Trust.
The men stopped laughing and their mouths fell open. All 6 of them were stunned right at the same moment. For a few minutes the place was absolutely silent. All you can hear was the rain falling down on the glass roof.
Are you serious Albert?
Yes I am Seoras. I'm dead serious.
Seoras shook his head and looked outside. He stared at his cup of hot soup and thought long and hard about it.
[i]Well... I think I'll do it. I've heard there's 12.3 billion in the bank in foreign currency. Rich people dump all their valuebles there. I'm in.
Woooh, not so fast. This ain't going to be some hotshot shooting and running out with bags on our back with a big green '$' on it. We have to plan this.
Planning? Gah
Now you listen to me Seoras. This isn't some bank in a rural town. This bank is opened 7 days a week from 7:30AM to 7:30PM. Guarded 24 hours a day, top-notch security systems, no internet connections... The place is almost airtight.
Almost? That's not airtight enough.
I haven't started about the vault itself.
Go on then, tell me.
I don't know anything about it.
That's not much help.
First I'll try to gather some information about the building itself before we're even going to talk about breaking in in the first place.

OOC: Well, its not like I can really do anything yet Holy Panooly, but like I said on msn, I dont really consider myself in cold war with you lot anyway. I still recognise you all, but if you really wanna be in cold war, basically your the one being the aggressor, because im not in war with terrorists anymore, so...

Panooly City, several weeks later...

Mr Costinack and Mr DuPont were looking at the sky. The stormclouds were passing away and the sun was shining. His plan was in the stage where there was no return. A few of this henchmen broke into offices of the architect and the contractor to find out more about the vault. It was a small setback the security corporation has gone bankrupt so what they would encounter is unknown.

Seoras bought all the equipment needed for the heist and bribed some employees to let us in after closing time. He never liked working there and two million will cover the expenses for his flight to Guerrillistan and a nice beach house.

This was the plan. We are dressed as repairmen and are waiting outside the gate in a van. Our contact will keep us updated and he will cut some wires to create an error in the security system. He will call an engineers bureau (fake telephone number) and 15 minutes later we knock on the front door.
Our insider will lead us to the vault. Since the cameras are shut down we have about 20 minutes to find the safety deposit box, open the door, fix the malfunction and get out. Easier said than done of course.

Okay men, imagine an enforced concrete tower, 100 feet high with solid steel doors 2 inch thick. Inside there are 6 floors each with 20 boxes. The top one is reserved for the government, although we cannot verify this.
Once in there you'll find just about everything our great government wanted to get rid off. Books, maps, machine parts, incriminating evidence, artefacts...
And lots of gold. We aren't there for money and gold. We need one thing and it's called '#934 - Project Quarry'. We should all go to sleep, tomorrow is going to be a long day.
