A garbage truck exploded outside of the Merls Federal Complex in the Commercial District of Malden.
It was expected to make a normal stop, but instead, had a 5 ton bomb.
The entire complex was leveled, and it is unknown how many people are dead at this hour, but it is believed to be in the neighborhood of 400 or 500 people dead, and several hundred more to be injured. Malden police were given a warning of a possible terrorist threat at 1352. At 1430, the garbage truck exploded. Walking down the street, most people agreed that the Malden Police Force did their best.
As one man put it: "They did their damndest, and that's all we ask for."
The explosion cracked windows 10 miles away from ground zero.
The entire nation of Oologah is in an indefinite state of Martial Law. Battlemechs are stationed in strategic spots in all the major cities, and there is one on every street corner in Malden. Tanks guard every street corner, and infantry patrols are quite frequent in all of the cities.
