Is Nuclear Weapons an Only Choice?

SantaMonico

The State Department of SantaMonico is considering to take up an offer from a nation not to be named to increase the threat from both North Korea and China. Both countries are located just near our region making us feel unsafe and threatened. All that will be released is that there will be 247 Nuclear Weapons involved in this deal. Is the right choice?

completly OOC: it has been my experience that as soon as nuke get use, it become a giant pissing contest. Any of the good RP stay away from nukes. even if you don't want to RP try to stay away from nuke, they will only give you a head ache

DaKhiem, capital of the Choson People's Republic of Dra-pol, has already expressed its concern over SantaMonican designs on nuclear proliferation. Comrade Secretary Director Hotan hopes that SantaMonica may rethink its policy and consider other options or discussions.

The Central Directorature took this opportunity to announce its intention to host in the near future an Asian Friendship Conference in liberated Seoul, and forwards an invitation to SantaMonica.

The next day, Comrade General Hozaro would announce the Republic's intention to carry out a fourth ballistic missile test over the pacific, and a third nuclear test in the central highlands. This is said to be part of Hotan's Two Billion Struggle, a massive re-armament programme after the destruction of the War for Korean Unification. It is suspected that the missile will be of the CPRD's 5,500km capable class, tested only once previously, and there is great speculation over the nuclear test, as Dra-pol is thought to have previously tested a boosted fission device and to be in pursuit of fusion weapons.

(OOC: Dra-pol is essentially North Korea (but bigger and angrier)... I don't know if you already recognise someone else as playing NK, or if you prefer to imagine the real DPRK, but if not, Dra-pol is happy to provide you with a North Korea to worry about :) We recently fought what we call the "War For Korean Unification" and were able to "liberate" Seoul and reach about half way to the south coast before a nuclear deadlock was forced. In the case of Dra-pol, nothing short of nuclear weapons saved the southern ROK... although they also took a huge bite out of it.)

Nukes have long term effects, try steering clear of too many WMDs , maybe get some H Bombs instead. ;) No spraying of radiation everywhere... i suppose if it was big enough you might still do cause fallout, but it does leave water everywhere...

Seriously though, invest in a tight misile defence instead. Preferably one that has several backups even when trying to swat a missile so it least almost nothing through..

Nukes are pretty much useless if you try using them against a larger nation. They normally have effective defence against them, or more nukes.

Nukes are pretty much useless against a larger or smaller nation. Gorkonian generals often joke:

"Using nuclear weapons against your enemy is like using an RPG to keep a fly away from your food; sure, the fly's not bothering you anymore, but you're food's ruined anyway."

Nobody ever said they had a sense of humour, but there is wisdom in their poor jokes.
