The Start of Terror

Unified Sith
14-07-2004, 07:22
The country had never been better. General Sidious had seen the nation through three long wars, and came out victorious every time, however change was now in the air. People were slowly becoming tired of communism, the restrictions it held over peoples lives, where as unlike the previous imperial or capitalist governments, people now had very little control over their own lives and destiny. Posters and leaflets were now being found around the backstreets and street corners of the Sith capital, contradicting and openly opposing the present government.
Though general Sidious and the Communist party were elected through the vote of the people, open contradictions to the governments ideals and policies soon became frowned upon and consequently illegal, angering those democrats, republicans and fascists that stood in opposition, and who campaigned long and hard for the abdication of emperor Tyranus.

So it came to pass that resistance grew and trouble simmered beneath the shadow of night, until on one dark and moonless evening the political anger and outrage boiled over into an all out civil war.

It began in a local tavern within the capital city, most alcohol had been banned, however the overseers had allowed ale and mead to continue in circulation. After a game of football (soccer to the yanks) where the Communist Arrows had been pitched against the fascist Hammers, alcohol intake and a desire to see some revenge on the communists for their blatant cheating in the match, provided the perfect circumstances for a fight. No one knows how it really started, however what is known that when the fight broke out, and all hell was released into the surrounding streets, two politically opposite police forces arrived to calm the disturbance, as the tavern lay on the border line of both jurisdictions. Each police force attempted to arrest those which shared different political opinions, tensions rose as both forces attempted to cease the others actions and release their comrades in ideology, until eventually a shot was fired from an unknown person and a fascist officer was killed. A gun battle ensued between the two factions and many innocents were killed.

This incident sent shockwaves throughout the nation affecting civilian and military personnel alike.

Almost instantly as news reached the ears of the populace the civilians took to the streets to exact revenge and support their comrades and friends and loot as much as possible. The Communist police forces were better armed however they were heavily outnumbered, as the fighting erupted from street to street, fires began to come forth turning the black Sithian night into a scene from Dante’s inferno. The ominous orange glow hovering above the capital like a protective angel of death oversaw the fighting.

The Communist police forces slowly fell back into the heart of the city, general Sidious now leading his men from the front refused to leave the city he loved so much. Like a true soldier he would stand and fight with his comrades. Die if he must.

The fighting raged all night, however as the tank divisions were being mobilised to aid the communists, the fascist forces threw a huge push into the city centre, effectively breaking the communist lines. One by one the men loyal to Sidious fell for their leader and comrades alike, until only one fighter was left, it was Sidious himself. Now on top of the Cenotaph commemorating those lost in the Camewot war, General Sidious fired into the mob aimlessly killing all he could, until he was shot from an unknown person masked by the shroud of the mob.

The leader of the Fascist party made his way to the bloody body of Premier Sidious and spat upon him. Little did the mob know this was the beginning of a new dark age for Unified Sith.

Location General Assembly building

The Fascist leader walked into the now ruined presidential building, now that he had the support of the people and most of the armed forces he was free to do whatever he wished. The nuclear command codes were now his and he was willing to use them. Walking along a corridor strewn with bodies and bullet holes the now new premier talked to his adviser, who was hooded in black keeping his identity secret.

Premier Hanz Himler: “How long until the cities fall to our forces, assuming the armed forces are on our side” The premier turned and gazed at the adviser.

Adviser: “If we did not have the loyalty of the armed forces, I would say they would have had you interned by now, this is not the time to falter from my plan” The adviser using a heavy oak walking stick clunked down the corridor.
“We must have stability before we can begin fulfilling our goals. Do you understand Hanz? If you falter from my plan all will be lost. You have the people in your grasp, they hinge on your every word, now address them.”

The new leader and the adviser passed through two large glass doors and stepped on to the balcony of the assembly building, hearing the cheers from the crowd as they saluted their new premier gave Hanz the feeling of what it must be like to be a God.
The symbol of the fascist party was raised to the top of the assembly building, which only furthered the excitement of the crowd.

Hanz: “My people we are now free, we have broken the shackles of tyranny once again, and we are FREE. It was only a small while ago that we would have been fools to make such blatant grasps for equality but we have done it! Our nation is now truly Unified. Our Nation is complete, and may it always remain so, may we all remember this night in jollity and celebrate it until the ends of time.”

The sun now rising, threw its rays onto the premier elevating the mood of the crowd even further until cheers erupted. The advisor slowly turned from the premier’s right shoulder and left the balcony moving towards an empty room to meet someone.

Unknown Contact: “Is it done? Do we have him in our control.”

Advisor: “Yes my lord, we have done it.”

Two weeks after the revolution things began to change. Many people began to miss the rule of the communists as the fascists had now restricted their freedoms now more than ever. Communists slowly began to form resistance networks, though this was undesirable, it was to be expected. The newly appointed leader had agents in almost every cell; it was a stroke of luck really. However Hanz had one chance to remove the rebels from Unified Sith. It came to his knowledge that most of the communist cells if not all of them would be meeting in the staunchly Sidious loyal city of Mkelin.

The date was confirmed, however the new premier had to do something to enforce his rein and it would be spectacular.

Intelligence Minister Jerkok shoved a Gerash guard out of the way and paced down the long throne room. He dropped to his knee and bowed his head as he reached the Emperor's throne, waiting for acknowledgement.

"Ah, Minister Jerkok," Emperor Gobgan said quietly after putting down a handheld computer. "I trust your job has become boring since we severed contact with the nationstates of this world?"
"On the contrary, your greatness," Jerkok said, standing up. "Satellites have recorded a significant political change, in Unified Sith."
"What sort of political change?" the Emperor inquired.
"Their government was forcibly removed," Jerkok smiled.
"Pathetic," Gorbgan huffed. "I suppose it was replaced by a weakling civilian government."
"More-or-less, but whoever they are they have the support of the military," Jerkok said.
"Ghargonia does not recognise this new government," the Emperor decided.
"With all due respect, your greatness, Ghargonia doesn't recognise ANY of these governments," Jerkok reminded him. "That does not mean we cannot profit from them."
"I suppose they are having problems with whoever still has a sense of loyalty," the Emperor guessed.
"That would be a correct assessment," Jerkok nodded.
"And the new 'government' could be 'grateful' for assistance in putting these 'rebels' to death, couldn't they?"
"It is... a possibility, your greatness," Jerkok smiled. "You may have an opportunity to put that trade offer to practice after all, for a start."
"Indeed." Gorbgan thought for a moment. Breaking two thousand years of isolationism for the possibility of a trade agreement was an unusual thing for an Emperor to consider at the very least, but the time would soon be upon them to strike back at their homelands, and they would need resources. Trade could bring in resources.
"Very well," the Emperor nodded slowly. "Ready a contingent of 5,000 Gerash warriors, and send an offer."
"Yes, your greatness," Jerkok, bowed his head again, then turned to leave.
"Oh and Jerkok," the Emperor added. "Don't be too friendly."
"Of course not your greatness," Jerkok said without turning, and paced out of the room.

Outside the Imperium Palace, Gerash warriors began to form lines under the command of their Ghargonian masters. Jerkok stopped at the doorway to the courtyard, and watched. Gerash may be idiots, but they were disciplined idiots, and the lines they formed were perfectly straight, and motionless.
Jerkok wondered if they still had their instrinctive lust for battle as he walked past the lines towards the communications dome.

Re: We know of your problem

Ghargonia has been in a period of isolation for 2,000 years since our arrival. We have been keeping an eye on the various nationstates that litter this world, however, and have monitored your little 'problem'. We have mobilised 5,000 Gerash warriors, who are ready to leave 0micronis Island for your borders should you request it. 5,000 may not seem like much, but do not underestimate a Gerash warrior. No, really, he will kill you just for thinking it.

All we ask in return is that you consider a trade offer recently made by our great Emperor regarding allowing our extensive automobile industry to conduct business in your country. With no special treatment of course.

Sincerely,

Intelligence Minister Jerkok

"Um" General Jango said with a raised eyebrow.

Unified Sith was not a Dimmimaran ally, but he had big plans for them. The last encounter they had was 200 years ago! Too long, and yet too short.

But the growing danger of rebellion in the western provinces was getting to be a trouble.

United Sith or his own country?

Then an idea popped into his head. He smiled inwardly, and saw the chance of more land.

United Sith could become a Dimmimaran province!

"Too hard" He voiced out loud.

The United Sith mainland was an island fortress. Or at least was an island fortress. The data records were crumbling and stank of mould. Even when uploaded onto his data-slate they had vast areas of corrupt files.

He started pouring over the documents. The population was undoubtedly wrong and the geographical features could have changed, but this was his only chance.

He must harbour the Communists in Dimmimar......
