Today the Bismarck-Class Battleship FSS IMO Reagan NRN 002 was commissioned after nearly 82 years of work. Millions of Federation, Tomathrian, and other nation's citizens labored on the enourmous project loyally.

The twenty-mile long ship was named after a great leader of the Ancients. Mentioned as one of the greatest men in all the history of the Ancients, it is only fitting that he is honored by this great vessel.

The ship's compliment of 800,000 was onboard for the ceremonies, in the galleries lining the lateral line of the vessel. The Chancellor was present, all the members of the Senate, Parliament, Cabinet, and the Federation Council also attended. Nearly two million Federation citizens flocked to the enourmous spacedock to watch the launching of the Reagan.

The FSS IMO Reagan NRN 002 is expected to serve in the ongoing war against the Shivan monsters. It shall be the might by which the Federation makes the Shivans crawl back into the foul pit from whence they came.

[Building a twenty-mile long ship is not possible. The biggest ship that is going to be built in the near future is the floating city and that's only going to be 5 kilometers (3 miles) long.]

*shakes head*

the physic are simple, even if it is sea going ship there is one rule. As long as it weighs less the amount of water that it displaces then it will float

Just look at my nation. I can build a stinkin battleship that big. Especially with the help of another four large nations. Please don't argue. I am going to attack the Shivans with it. Ta Ta.

[Then it will be ignored. The Doujin class is as big as you can get in a warship and it's a mere kilometer long and has a trimaran hull to help it stay afloat, if it didn't have that it would sink. If you don't believe me then go ask Freethinkers, he happens to be rather skilled with maritime design.]

OOC: Alot stick with modern tech anyway, so i'll naturally ignore it. Even those who have futuristic/fantasy tech will want more info!

Is that all the info that you have? A ship that is 20 miles long... It could be extremely vulnerable though? No specs?

Just wondering for OOC's sake!

I have stats, buried in the computer somewhere. Posted them about 10 times in other places. If someone asks, i'll find them. But, it's armed to the teeth, carries a few thousand fighters...

I'm afraid you'll need to elaborate on a few things.

Specifically, how many fighters one bay can maintain. What the damage difference is between different color pulse beams (if any), what the Phase Pulse Cannons are, and what a rift generator is.

Also, the crew seems a bit high for such a small craft. The crew must be packed in like sardines. :P

Plenty of room after appropiate space is devoted to weapons systems, power systems, water reclamation systems, etc? There are many things that take up space on a large interstellar vessel.

... Which is why Mekanta does so well. A ship controlled by one AI core and Triad Point linked to Central Command means I have more room to work with. And the ships are a hell of a lot cheaper, too. ^_^

Okay, as for weapons, the Rift generator creates a ripple in subspace, the PPC's fire huge bolts of phase-pulsed energy, and the batteries are mainly huge tubes that fire huge projectiles of plasma and antimatter. The particle beams fire streams of particles, causing molecular damage, and the less there are, the more powerful the type.

Mekanta, we are advanced in many areas, Artificial Inteligence is not one of them. We may someday reduce the number of people on our ships, but not soon.
