The Macabees

[Event description...]
A platoon of Macabee Panzerkampfwaggen IX Ausf. B Sargon tanks, five in all, and a platoon of mechanized infantry in armored transport - ten in all - were in patrol of the Imperial Freemantian desert at 1700 hours. The crescent moon began to fall on the territory, located 6,000 kilometers from the Macabee Imperial Mainland - and 3,000 kilometers from the Imperial Provence of Tortuga Island. The territory was quite isolated, but gave a foward fire base for most wars which the Macabees would ever be in - especially the ensuing war in Zarbia, which was going nowhere.
No matter, the patrol was cruising through the orange sands of Freemantia when a round of an RPG-27 slammed into the rear of one of the APCs carrying five men. The round drilled through the SLERA armor, killing two of the men immediately. The other three attempted to get out and two succeeded, one was caught by a second RPG-27 round. A third RPG-27 round hit the lead Sargon but simply bounced off the superior SLERA armor - leaving the tank crew to contact Fire Base Anubis some 10 kilometers back, as well as Fire Base Horus, their destination, 30km foward.
However, the prelimanary fighting did not stop there. Small arm crackels filled the air as one of the two infantry men that got out of the now smoldering APC was sniped in between the eyes. The last surviving open infantry man began to run into the desert but was cut down by a second snipe round. Just then a fourth RPG-27 round smacked into the second APC, killing all five inside. The two burnt out APCs let out considerable amount of smoke blocking the rear view for the Sargons.
Nonetheless, the Sargon's split up and began hunting for the ambushers. The battle then heated up; sixteen T-90s, came out of nowhere - the Macabee government didn't even know they existed on the provence (!) - and fired their six rounds at one of the Sargons, three bouncing off, but the fourth hitting under the turret and the fifth at the top hatch, cutting off the crew from escape. The Sargon's 140mm ETC gun turned towards one of the T-90s but on attempted fire the turret was found to be completely jammed by the fourth T-90 round. Another Sargon, receiving radio databursts from the cut off tank, came to its rescue - firing a single 140mm ETC round into the rear of the T-90. The Russian made tank simply imploded, leaving a black, smoldering tank crew. The other T-90s began to disperse and fire while maneuvering, destroying two other Sargons. The battle looked increasingly desperate for the Macabee Imperial Troops, and it looked like the two remaining moving Sargons would have to make a run for it.
However, by that time ten MMA-B1 Tiberius Anti-tank choppers had arrived from Base Anubis and opened fire on the T-90s, destroying eight more, while the rest ran off into the orange and yellow desert. It was 1748 hours.
But to the avail of the choppers and two remaining tanks any rescue efforts to get the deturreted tank moving were in vain as small army kept up. Rescue maintenance teams were slaughteres, four army engineers in all. RPG-19s were constantly flying into the air, and the Tiberius' were being forced to increase altitude. Finally some five MMA-A1 Augustus Gunships were called in which tore up the desert with its 30mm machine guns, hunting for the assailants. It was by not 1820 hours.
RPG-27s and RPG-19s continued to rain down, no matter the casualties they took. About ten RPG-27s slamming into the unmoving Sargon finally blasted it into the air, leaving a cole black chassis in the desert. It was turning into a true debacle - could not the powerful Macabee military defeat a mere ambush?
Finally, after three armored deaths (15 crew dead), two APCs destroyed (10 Infantry dead) and three choppers burning down (six dead), the firing was finished at 1853 hours - with two militants captured, and a body count looking at 139 attackers dead.
