To those nations handling our gold currency the (Gold) Bezant which is nominally worth 10,000 shekels or 100 deniers/denaro/denarius, we are issuing an alert.

We have been alerted to fake Bezants being used by Moslem traders in their transactions. While we allow the Bezant as legal currency with our neighbours, the perennial forging industry has been busy.

Weight: 19.50 grams

* Obverse - Cross of Jeruselem with Latin DEU GRATIA REGINA MARIAH I JERUSALEM in Gothic script
* Reverse - Star of David and Crescent with nonsensicial script

We urge all nations to beware when handling our currency to check for these fakes.

Not really, 24 grams is about 3 English sovereigns.
Copper is lighter that Gold. Maybe the forgery is too heavy ...
