General Mersereau, Cabinet Promise CivilDisobedients Defense Increase With New Regime

NOOKAPPETTAL (Reuters) – Following his swearing in General J.H. Mersereau promised to his people he would “set a new historical standard for defense.”

Over 100,000 people attended the 3-hour inauguration of the new General in Nookappettal. Early estimates had over 2/3rds of the country viewing the inauguration on national television.

“The time is now,” stated Mersereau in an address to the Holy Republic of CivilDisobedience, “I will not stand idly at the helm like previous leaders.” He alluded to former generals causing the nation to stagnate not imposing their wills on the people.

Mersereau also stated he plans to increase military spending and police funds. “Too long our coffers have been used for unnecessary programs at the expense of internal and external defense. It is unfair we do not give CivilDisobedients the best protection possible.”

Defense Secretary Warren A. Robinson endorsed the General’s goals. “We must take charge of the nation’s defense. Under former regimes funds were being funneled into the wrong places.”

The defense budget had been accumulating annually, but was never utilized properly.

The former Secretary of Finance Thomas O’Malley was using the defense budget for illicit activities. After his trial and incarceration last year, the nations coffers were recovered. An internal audit revealed several hundred billion dollars being misrouted.

New Finance Secretary Arthur T. Murphy assured the public funds would not become “lost or miscounted.” “It is important the public have faith their taxes are being spent properly.”

Mersereau concluded by assuring CivilDisobedients his appointed staff and himself “will not deviate from the goal of our people – to take their appointed place in history.”
