Dyelli Beybi

KTV Broadcast
A female anchor taps a few papers on the table then begins,
"Yes, It's election time again in Dyelli Beybi, and things are looking distinctly different this time around, possibly partially due to the current military situation.
"For a start the country has expanded in nearly all directions since the last Election, and with that has come a dramatically new political system of semi-autonomous regional Government.
"Here's a brief explanation of how it works..."
The screen changes to a black background with words on it which the anchor narates, just in case any of the TV audience is blind.
Each Region elects 100 member Regional Assembly by a system of "First Pass the Post".
There are 4 Regional Assemblies, representing the Djel Valley, New Dyelly, East Benjia and the D.T.A.T.
In excess to this each voter casts a second, "Party Vote" for the General Assembly of 200 Seats. To gain a seat in the General Assembly one must gain 5 Percent of the Votes in Any Given Region. Seats are then allocated by Region in the following manner,
90 Seats D.T.A.T.
50 Seats Djel Valley
35 Seats New Dyelli
25 Seats East Benjia
The screen flicks back to the anchor, who is grinning and trying desperately to look like she understands the electoral system
"I'll now pass you over to Doctor Coates who will give us a run-down of the Parties running this time round."
The screen flicks to an elderly balding man who looks half asleep
"Yes, well, the parties running in Dyelli Beybi this time, or at least the ones who look like they'll win General Assembly seats are,
"The National Socialist Worker's Party, headed by the Right Hon. Herr Himmler, they're the current Government, although they look like they will probably lose most of their seats in the coming elections. Himmler is pledging he will rebuild National pride, although he hasn't exactly said how he will do that yet, and considering most people blame him for the situation resulting from the Nekoa Bay Negotiations, viewing him as too soft, and willing to bow to the Drakonian Imperium, his argument cuts little ice.
"There is of course the Communist Party, headed by the Hon. Mr Lee. They control the New Dyelli Regional Parliament, although they are also tipped to lose Seats at the next election. They are standing mostly on moving greater focus from the military to the economy and a more isolationist foreign policy.
"The Labour and Green Parties are running again and we expect a few votes to fall to them, although polls aren't suggesting any real gains for these two minor players with views on selling off some state enterprise and stopping the widescale abuse of the environment respectively.
"The Big Winners at this stage are the National People's Revolutionary Party. They're Headed by the Hon. Mr Collins, now some of you will remember the Benjia first party and the sopmewhat minor National Revolution Party, this is a merger, and under the charismatic leadership of Mr Collins they are looking like they might well be the new Government. Many pakrahs Word's flash underneath - inbred foreigners find this party to be suspicious, mostly due to the fact that over half of it's members are currently in the military and it promises a tougher line on negotiations with, to quote from the party manifesto "bloodsucking foreign devils", but personally I believe them to be fairly centrist."
